Worked odd jobs in college to get a Yamaha R600 without telling my parents. I didn’t even know how to ride back then.
What motivated you to make the trip around the world on your motorcycle? There is so much of the world to see - what better way than on two wheels with the wind rushing through my hair. How does it feel to be the first Pakistani to have ever undertaken such a journey? It's never been about being the first but the opportunity to trot all over the world, meeting interesting people and experiencing areas that a handful of souls have seen. The uniqueness of what can be explored if we dare to step out was humbling. What makes your journey different from other people who undertake similar adventures? I think the most unique aspect was having my old man with me for the 56

entirety. We will be talking about work sometimes and inevitably the conversation will steer towards our trip. There are so many memories and experiences we share, it is great to reminisce with him from time to time.
Do you have a favourite place/city/country? I loved Mongolia, the people and landscape share this untamed rawness that I greatly appreciate.
It must be amazing to share this passion for adventure with your father. Tell us about your relationship and this crazy love for adventure that you two share. Some of the earliest memories I have is of us packing in our tiny Suzuki fx and driving up to Gilgit, Swat or Hunza. Conventional was never the norm in my household and it kind of shows in our eccentric ways.
Who's support has meant the most to you? My absolutely wonderful significant other has been a pillar of support in all of my craziness and through thick and thin. Not once have I heard her say, "What about me?", it is always "Do what makes you happy.", "Follow your heart with abandon". She is a very special person and it is a privilege to be part of her life.
How long did it take you to complete your journey, and what kind of challenges did you face as you rode through different countries? The journey was roughly 90 days. Riding through Mongolia was one of the most arduous thing I've done. There are no roads, no signs and you will not see a soul for days on end. It's just you and your wits trying to make it through this large expanse of untamed land. It can be lonely and daunting to think of how secluded one is from the rest of humanity. When the going gets tough, what keeps you going? I always tell myself to slow down and focus on the solution rather then the problem. What kind of a reception did you get from the people you met on the road? When you haven't seen a soul in 5 days, you make sure the person who passes by knows how much you appreciate their presence be it only for a mere 2 minutes. If I look back now, my faith in humanity is restored because of this trip.
Can you tell us more about your campaign with LUMS to raise funds for talented students in need of financial aid? NOP program is such an uplifting endeavor, reading through the stories just brings a smile to your face. The program is focused on bringing extraordinary students from far flung areas into the fold of LUMS. Children who do not have the financial means to undertake higher education but have the talent to be game changers are given an opportunity to excel and pursue higher learning. It was an honor to spread the good word and bring a little bit of attention to this stellar undertaking. Whats next for Khitab Khan? The extent of a man's dreams should know no bounds, hiking to the North Pole from Norway, Surf a 20 foot wave, Climb Everest, Scuba with the Great Whites, Drive from Cairo to Cape Town, Race the Lemans, Go to space and the list goes on and on. It should be a wild ride when I'm through :)

beauty edit 6 common make-up booboos that age you BY REDAH MISBAH
Even after discovering the right lipstick, shade of foundation, mascara, eyeliner and many other beauty products, there is a possibility of you making a mistake when it comes to application and product choices! Are you making the same blunder over and over again without realizing it? Hair and Beauty Expert, Director Depilex Redah Misbah shares with us the common mistakes women tend to make and how to avoid committing these cosmetic crimes.
1
the foundation of makeup
One of the most obvious makeup mistakes is using the wrong shade of foundation. Choosing a foundation a shade or two lighter, one that doesn’t match your neck and hands, unnesscarily ages you whereas choosing a shade darker will leave your face looking extremely dull. If you’re having to blend foundation into your neck, chances are you’re using the wrong shade. Foundation that disappears into your skin is the right colour! And remember, many people need different colour foundations for the summer and winter!
Conceal 2 & reveal
This summer is all about natural makeup! Instead of dabbing tons of concealer under your eyes and other problem areas, focus on moisturizing and using a good primer that will make it easier to blend in the concealer and foundation! 56

3
stop blushing
A frequent ageing makeup mistake: putting blush too far below and too near the nose. Blush applied incorrectly like below you cheekbone drags down you face giving the illusion that your skin is sagging. Rather than focusing on the apples of your cheek, take the center of your eye as a starting point, on the highest part of your cheekbone and brush upwards towards you temples and blend using a stippling brush.
4
line up
Who remembers that horrendous trend of dark, heavily lined lips? I would like to remind you that trend died many years ago. A lipliners main purpose is to hold you lipstick in place and not let the colour bleed or migrate. What happens as you age is that the line of your lip begins to fade making lipstick more prone to feather (seeping into your fine line and emphasizing them) to avoid this use a creamy lip liner that is closest to your lip colour or try a clear lip liner like ‘ Universal Lip Liner by Sephora’. When it comes to choosing a shade remember lighter shades highlight, darker shades don’t and gloss gives the illusion of plumpness
equal rights
5 6
I see a lot of women lining the lower lid of their eyes darker or heavier than the upper this noticeably makes your eyes droop down and fine lines are emphasized because there are more on the lower lid as compared to the upperlid. the soloution to this focus on the upperlid, any look that is soft and blended will draw less attention to crows feet. Nothing kills a look faster than clumpy mascara so make sure you separate your eyelashes and again focus on the upper lashes and to add some extra lift and oomph use some falsies that look natural like Laurens Way Eyelashes.
brows over... Though fuller eyebrows are in fashion, one must remember to define their brows! It is only natural for eyebrows to thin and a sparse set of eyebrows visibly portrays that! Make sure your brows are well-groomed, never bushy, and never, ever overplucked! The common mistake women make is often to colour in their eyebrows with a darker shade. The trick is to pencil them in with a lighter shade, making them appear more natural! Take short, upward strokes and avoid making a straight boxed line. If you’re using an eyebrow gel always use an angled brush to apply it. If you’re using an eyebrow mascara start from the middle of your brow to avoid a dark deposit of colour towards the inner sides of your brows! 2015

Travelling is great fun! You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? While visiting California, my husband, Shahan surprised me with a very meticulously planned trip to Las Vegas. From break fast to lunch to dinner, concerts to performances; it was a whirlpool of entertainment!! We drove down from LA which was truly half the fun!! California is gorgeous to drive through and from a very bias view, Shahan is a great travel buddy!
rants it was a gigantic resort that you would never need to leave!
What are the best shopping spots there? Although every Resort has its own exclusive shopping arcade, I personally liked the classic Via Bellagio collection of illustrious boutiques where the best of the best can be found. For a more colorful experience I also find the shopping along Where did you stay? the Grand Canal at the Venetian quite entertaining. With live We stayed at the Wynn Resort. which was overwhelmingly "street" performers and forever "sunny" skies its everything entertaining! I find it all a bit intimidating how one is bombarded with Casinos and would much rather spend the day by the pool with my true indulgence; food! Finally, any tips? Restrict the amount of cash you take!

Tell us about the sights noone should miss out on The strip itself is one big sight! The fountains at the Bellagio, the Volacano at the Mirage and the Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand are all unique to the strip. However the Luxor Hotel's exhibit of the Titanic with the original hull and recreation of the grand staircase is pretty cool! i must mention my fascination with the Valley of Fire which you come across on the drive to Vegas. It is constructed with the most spectacular desert scenery, made with vivd red rock formations in shades of burnt orange and fiery red!

The classic Nobu at Ceasers palace is always a go to! However Vegas spoils you with a wide variety of the world's top chefs squeezed on to one not very long stripped! Shahan is a big fan of Cut by Wolfgang Puk at the Pallazo which is heaven for meat lovers, serving top of the line steaks. I personally am a seafood lover who fell in love all over again at Michael Mina's speciality resteraunt at the Bellagio! We both did, however agree on a fantastic brunch spot just off the strip called EAT, the best most basic brunch that was bursting with flavor- surely driving the extra bit was worth it!

You’re thinking about your overall style as the week begins, but something else requires a fine-toothed comb. It may be a challenge to zero in on the details, but you’ll be very happy you did. Getting stuff started (at work, at home, even in romance) is favored around Wednesday and Thursday. Kick it off and watch it fly! From Friday until Sunday afternoon, though, your usual oomph may be missing in action. However, taking things slow isn’t a bad idea right about now. By late Sunday, new energy comes to help boost you into a great new week.
Your sensuous side’s in the forefront as the week begins, with the cosmos smiling on your romantic endeavors and boosting your attraction factor. Make hay while the proverbial sun shines! You may be wrapped up in work around Wednesday and Thursday, and it could involve some exciting stuff. Don’t go overboard, though, because your health may be a bit delicate now. Passion’s back in your personal stars from Friday until Sunday afternoon, but beware of possessiveness. Hold on loosely, because love needs wiggle room. Late Sunday, a realization comes your way.
Check in with family or friends at the beginning of the week, and make sure the lines of communication are clear and open. Relying on them to divine your feelings isn’t going to cut it. Around Wednesday and Thursday, you’re extra smart as well as super sexy. What you don’t have: follow-through, especially at work. So take necessary steps to keep track of things. You’re capable of all sorts of helpful calculations from Friday until Sunday afternoon. Seeing things clearly sure makes your path easier to discern! By late Sunday, you’re ready for your next step.
Interpersonal connections are crackling as your week begins, and the cosmic forces-that-be are smiling on any plans you make now. Put a little extra thought into it and you’ll reap big rewards, both right away and later. Around Wednesday and Thursday, however, the people factor demands additional attention. Spend some time figuring out others’ motivations. You experience things intensely from Friday through the weekend. It’s up to you to make it intensely good! Take good care of yourself, and gather favorite characters and things to have around you.

You’re happy to let someone else have the limelight as you start your week. You’ve got more in-depth or long-term stuff on your mind, and you also have the concentration and analytical skills to deal with it. It’s more about sharing the spotlight (or is it candlelight? Things could get romantic now!) around Wednesday and Thursday. Plan for fun with a friend or a certain someone. Then, from Friday through the weekend, powerful energy’s coming your way. You can intensify it by using both your mind and heart in any and all decisionmaking.
Those around you ain’t seen nothin’ -- until the beginning of this week, that is, when the ambient star power magnifies all things great about you. Whatever you want to do, get right to it. Around Wednesday and Thursday, though, a choice must be made, and it’s not so easy. Consult someone who ‘gets’ you -- your mentor, partner or maybe a trusted friend. You may want to plan something different, something exciting and stimulating to your heart and mind, on Friday or over the weekend. You’re liable to feel restless!
It’s all about the details as the week begins, and they might totally overwhelm you if you don’t make an extra effort to concentrate. Allow for some downtime, too. Life’s more about love around Wednesday and Thursday, or at least it should be. Where’s your heart? Where do you want to be emotionally? Move toward it, and the stars will give you a nice push. From Friday through the weekend, you might be thinking about a purchase or about something you already own, but the cosmic forces have something bigger (and probably way better) in mind. Look deep now.
Lend a friend a hand, give a coworker a boost or recommit to your volunteer work or giving at the beginning of the week. The cosmic forces have their eye on you! Your sheer power of determination doesn’t make a certain decision any easier around Wednesday and Thursday. In fact, pressuring yourself for an answer could create a problem. Have patience, because things look like they’ll really clear up, as well as heat up, for you from Friday through the weekend. Your personal power’s building now, and same with your attraction factor. Dang!

Early in the week, minimize the team stuff at work and reschedule social engagements. You’ve got powerful mental energy, but you’ll need to be solo to make the most of it. On the other hand, you love being around people, and they’re loving you around Wednesday and Thursday. Getting out of your usual circle could make it even more fun (and make new contacts a real possibility, too). From Friday through the weekend, your imagination’s incredibly active. That means you can be very creative, but you may also read more into things than you should.
Get that planner updated, make certain inquiries and do some very productive thinking as the week begins. Give those relationships (or potential ones) a little care and feeding now, too. Around Wednesday and Thursday, the connections aren’t quite clear, and you’ll be glad for the interpersonal foundations you’ve laid. But never fear: Your personal power’s back on high from Friday until Sunday afternoon. You’re great with romance or social stuff now, but be sure you take time to look within, too. Later on Sunday, ideas count, so listen to them.
There may be some weird energy in your interactions at the beginning of the week. What’s really going on here? Being up front about your own motives is a good place to start. Around Wednesday and Thursday, though, the bonds you have with those around you can become exponentially stronger. Offer your help and say yes to an offer someone makes you or an invitation you receive. Emotions may run high from Friday through the weekend, and your instinct might be to hole up. But other people have fresh energy and even some good advice.
Your analytical powers are pretty awesome as the week gets going. If you can recognize when to go ahead and take action, you’ll be sitting pretty indeed. Are you ready for some out-of-season spring cleaning around Wednesday and Thursday? Whether it’s your workspace or your heart, there’s stuff to toss out. Make room for the new! From Friday until Sunday afternoon, you might just want to cozy up with a certain someone or enjoy the company of good friends. Keep those plans low-key. Sunday could actually turn into your lucky day.
