Untainted shine Erum Khan is well known for ¬stylishly combining ethnic ¬designs and contemporary silhouettes with the use of traditional embroidery techniques. For The Untainted Shine collection, she has opted for the use of hand worked embellishments on all ensembles. Colors will include cream, eggshell, ivory and vanilla whites, as well as her signature use of nudes. The inspiration behind the designing of this collection has been to make every girl feel like a princess – the use of motifs such as flowers and embellishments such as stunning pearls, further accentuate this theme. The Untainted Shine collection exudes an old world charm with a hint of sensuality. The high-waist skirts, button-up shirts and sheer long dresses have been designed to compliment every girl’s individuality without overpowering it. Travelling is great fun! You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? We were in love and we wanted romance so picking Santorini was a no brainer. The cobbled streets, white walls with windows painted in fresh blue all decorated with bougainvillea flowers and grape vines and to top it all, an ocean with no end! Our only agenda there was to unwind and take in the gorgeous views. Sigh; no wonder the Greeks have six words to describe love. Who did you travel with? This trip was for my honeymoon and so my travel partner was the recently signed-up husband. We wanted an island getaway right after the wedding so he booked and planned and I just worried about what I will wear!

Where did you stay? Right in the center of the island, is a charming city called Fira. It’s the highest point of view over the caldera. Our hotel was beautifully located in a village called Imerovigli, which is one of the most beautiful villages of Santorini within Fira. Our room opened up right onto the coast with a beautiful sunset and a private pool! Each morning we would view a picturesque volcano as we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast of that heavenly Greek yogurt and colorful fruits. What are the best shopping spots there? Shopping is fun. Period. and it’s even more fun in San-

travel diaries Finally, any tips? Go in April before the summer traffic hits. The weather was perfect. I saw some people driving around on scooters and that looks like fun. I’m going to try that next time!

Suggest some amazing restaurants there? Oh so spoiled for choice! My favorite was Restaurant Alexander located on the Kamari beach. Delicious seafood! I had the volcano shrimps with steamed mussels which were heavenly after a long swim, the staff there was very friendly too. Another must have is the nutella banana ice cream waffle at Creperie-café-pasteria in Perissa, if you want to know what it is like to have the best crepes in the world!
What can you do over there to relax and unwind? Spas in Santorin’s are amazing. You can go up to Oia and visit the kissing fish spa for a fish manicure and pedicure. Then head out to the Kamari black beach and spend time to just laze under the sun listening to the sound of the waves.
Tell us about the sites that noone should miss out on Don’t miss the sunset at Oia. The colors of the sky are indescribable and the windmills in the background made me feel like I was Alcyone with my Ceyx.

Suggest places for a perfect night out. Oia is quite nice to walk through if there’s nothing in particular on the agenda. You’re surrounded by shops, street food, music, bars and tourists from all walks of life.

torini. Fira’s streets are lined with shops selling souvenirs, art and even custom made leather shoes. To my delight, there were many jewellery stores which are a jewellery designer’s heaven. I got many trinkets such as precious gemstones which I’m now using for inspiration to develop my upcoming jewellery line. Do watch out for it!
