"I chose to go to Azerbaijan because I had heard a lot about the country. A lot of Pakistanis were going there so it looked like it was trending on the map in terms of travel. We decided to take a 5 day break and just head across, it sounded like a new destination to go and explore."

planes, trains & automobiles "For a perfect night out you can go out into the old town and experience the culture and the food or you can stay at the Hilton, the rooftop has a really nice bar. The Fairmont also has a really nice jazz bar. Otherwise there are some really nice bars and beaches by the beach!" Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! " For food there is a lovely restaurant called ‘Firuze’ which has some really good local food. Then there is a place in the old city bazar called ‘Quynana’ which has some delicious desi food. And then there is Paris bistro in the heart of town, that is open 24/7 for some incredible continental stuff."

"Baku is really about the museums and the old bazaar. But I just like being by the sea. They have a really beautiful national park. So we hung around the fountain square area which was really pretty, the old bazaars which again are really pretty. One should definitely check out the Fairmont of Li-Ve Tas."

"My tip to anyone travelling there would be to carry a light jacket or sweater because it tends to get windy in the evening. Carry cash because most places don’t accept cards. Rent a bike if you can, it’s the best way to explore the city and enjoy your trip!"
