Feed your hair! Food that is rich in proteins and supplements such as Vitamin E increase circulation to the scalp, which is essential for a healthy scalp!

Do a gentle scalp massage prior to shampooing your hair. Use a little plant oil such as sesame, olive or jojoba to massage scalp.

Use The New Dove Range to fulfill the nourishment your hair’s been missing! It nourishes your hair at the cellular level and makes it resilient to damage, returning the strength and smoothness.

Castor oil is moisturizing and helps in hair growth. Make sure to oil your hair twice a week with equal parts of castor oil and olive oil for healthier and shiny hair.

Always use a wooden comb if you want to prevent hair fall because unlike plastic combs, it doesn’t cause static, which breaks your hair and makes it fall!

a die-hard born and raised lahori, who cares about education, dogs, food, hip hop and a host of other things she’d rather not bore you with. of place to mention, that our idea is endorsed by the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Austria (European Union) as a great step in the promotion of tourism in Pakistan.

When and how was Super Savari Express born? The concept of Super Karachi Express came into being from the very small corners of my office room, around 12 and half weeks ago, where I called friend who was active on Instagram as @mystapaki and decided to launch a small excursion around Karachi for our friends and family. Every country has a heritage it should be, and is proud of. What I saw in Pakistan, was not a lack of pride, but rather a lack of knowledge about our country. Therefore, soon enough Super Savari Express Pvt Ltd was registered with the SECP as the country’s FIRST guided tour bus. We started with about 6 guests who went out on a Sunday; today it is growing onto becoming a national asset in terms of tourism, having served thousands and growing with operations starting in all major cities across Paksitan. I personally serve as the Managing Director and other shareholders of management and directors include Mr. Babar Tajammul and, Mr. Kashan Tajammul. Lastly, it would not be out 24

What inspired you to start this? Was there any experience in your youth that made you a big fan of traveling? Having been raised between Pakistan and Canada, and having a family business in the travel and hospitality industry, travelling has always been a big part of my life. Visiting different cities, I noticed how every one of them had their own city tours, either on busses or on foot, and I thought about Pakistan, our country had heritage, culture and history at par with all the great countries of Europe or the far east, if not greater. That’s when we sat down and said why not here? Can you quickly walk us through one of your planned tours? A typical tour begins early in the morning. To keep it as interactive and personalized as possible we have a group introduction, to make sure everyone feels like a part of the Super Savari family for the day. We visit various cul-

tural, historical and religious sites around town, have an authentic desi breakfast and ensure that everyone is able to feel that sense of pride in owning the streets, buildings, and way of life of their own cities, and the country as a whole. Moreover, we incorporate a lot of traditional practical experiences such as etc etc etc Where do you get the information you pass on to your tourists from? One can never know too much, we are hungry for information, to take and to give. Our information has come from every possible avenue available o us. We have been in touch with heritage experts working on restorations, historians, architects, journalists, the web, books and to add a human element to it, with the people who have lived around these sites or seen them in their glory days as they grew up. And to our surprise people give new information to us on each tour. What kind of things do people find as unexpected "wows" on your tours? Jut the simple act of sitting on the roof of a bus, or walking through the streets of one’s own city as a tourist is ‘wow’ enough for most of our participants. People have been amazed at the way they are able to interact with their own hometown in a completely different and novel way. What has the response been like? The response has been overwhelming. Like I said, we started with about 6 people on the first ride, the second had about 28 and the numbers have only grown since. We have served well over the thousand mark already and the numbers are only growing as we move to Islamabad and Lahore. The amount of love and support that people have given us has been heartwarming. We have served people from Colombia, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Sweden, Norway, Britain, Canada and the list goes on - Our testimonial book is a good evidence of our diversity. Moreover, we have been covered by local and international media houses such as BBC World, The Guardian Newspaper, Washington Post, Express Tribune; and blogged about in London, Toronto and Chicago to name a few. What's the most rewarding part of this job? I consider every aspect of being able to do what we do, a personal reward. The fact that we can bring back that nostalgia, and help people re live those memories after all these years is some-

thing we’re very proud of. Our focus on educating both the young and the old remains steadfast, with a brighter and better future for Pakistan being the only reward we seek. What kind of an audience are you catering to? We are currently targeting the willing public who wants to take ownership of their own country. Our idea is to educate this particular segment about the culture, ethnic diversity and heritage which we have distanced ourselves from in the last couple of decades. Most of our target audience is unaware of the architectural beauty from the British Raj on the streets, or the simple historical significance behind the streets and parks they visit on a daily basis. This is a project for the ‘People’ and by the ‘People.’ I'm sure many people ask you this, but are these tours and areas safe? What security measures have you taken? Safety isn’t guaranteed anywhere; it’s an issue in big cities like London and New York too. Karachi has its own dynamics, but they’ve been hyped up to a great extent, and that’s what has prevented people from coming out. However we’ve taken our precautions, in addition to having informed the concerned authorities in our cities of operation. How do your tours intend to better the image of Pakistan? The tours aim to change the image of Pakistan in the minds of its own people. Through the tours we intend to make everyone brand ambassadors of their own cities, so when they travel domestically or abroad they are able to project that positive image of Pakistan to everyone they meet. We love the tagline “Reclaim Pakistan, one city at a time". What's next for Super Savari express? As the tagline suggests, our aim is to make the brand a longterm, sustainable solution for tourism across Pakistan. We believe that through a nationwide effort we’ll be able to play our part in changing the perception of Pakistan for the better, and we hope that we are able to serve as the national asset that helps to achieve that goal.

studio s Seher Tareen’s Shakespeare collection was a modern day twist on the concept of love as depicted in the irony of A Midsummer Nights Dream. She showcased some contemporary designs which were intelligently put together. Ranging from sheer gowns to super cool t-shirts with cutwork, this collection was a breath of fresh air. We’re super excited to see more from Studio S at upcoming fashion weeks.

anamika khanna Anamika Khannas collection was the perfect mix of East meets West. The colour palette used was quite glamorous with black, gold and royal blue and we loved the way the each piece had a signature statement such as the sheer capes, sarong skirts and belted saris. The collection had one beautiful look after another and the designer across the border could really do well in Pakistan.

Rema’s jewellery was all the buzz at Fashion Parade. It is commendable that Rema has created a strong brand in such a short period of time. Each piece was a statement piece on its own. The collection consisted of jewelled harnesses, large statement cuffs, chokers, oversized necklaces, ear cuffs, large embellished earings & bags. The jewellery was beautiful and left us wanting more.

planes, trains & automobiles

Travelling is great fun! You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our new section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? I am always scouting for new locations that do justice to the philosophy behind my fashion brand Almas. Keeping Almas' young, exciting and fresh vibe in mind, shooting a campaign in New York City and Miami was a no-brainer. The journey was long and tiring but ultimately the trip became the most perfect mix of business and pleasure. After all, we were shooting a dream campaign in the very heart and soul of the East Coast, USA. Who did you travel with? I was travelling with a fun mix of old and new friends, my photographer Abdullah Akbar and local models. Where did you stay?

travel diaries

New York is a second home to me - I stayed at my family home in Sleepy Hollow (about 40 minutes from Grand Central). However, I didn't get to spend much time there this year because of the crazy campaign schedule. I was mostly Midtown, shooting at various locations. In Miami, it made sense to rent an apartment in the heart of downtown, about a 5 minute drive to South Beach and Ocean Drive with its array of restaurants, boutique shops and high street stores. What are the best shopping spots there? On one of my days in Miami, I ended up in the Miami Design District, where luxury and quirkiness come together in a fascinating way. Not far from the high end stores, restaurants and bars is the Wynwood Art District with its world famous graffiti walls. It takes the shopping and art gallery experience

travel diaries

Suggest some amazing restaurants there? New York is all about the culinary experience - there are literally hundreds of amazing places to grab a good bite! For brunch, I'd recommend Sarabeth's. For the best beef ribs in the city on the cheap, head to One Thai Chef in Midtown. For the best bar and lounge experience, head to the Cafe Boulud at The Surrey. And if you don't mind a bit of a trek, head all the way uptown for a pastry experience that's unreal at the Indian Road Cafe. Now that's one apple crumble done right! In Miami, head for the best Eggs Benedict at Micheal's Genuine and on your way to Key West, stop for a great vegan burger at The Shipwreck's bar and grill in Key Largo.

travel diaries

Miami worships the beach, and it's not hard to see why. The city exists for the water. Head out to any one of its many beaches, some full of excitable tourists and others more exclusive. Take some good music with you, soak up the sun, get in the water and attend some of the amazing food festivals they have going on almost every week. Rent your dream convertible and drive endlessly. It's a laidback city.... No complaints there. Finally, any tips? YELP IT!

travel diaries

travel

In New York, there are hidden gems housed all over the city. After spending a day or two amongst the herd of tourists in Times Square, I recommend exploring the streets, parks and eateries that make the New York experience authentic. If you have a spare day, head across the bridge into Williamsburg, Brooklyn. That place has great character.

What can you do over there to relax and unwind? The best part about traveling is having the opportunity to explore cities in ways we don't get to in Pakistan! Rent a bike in New York and spend hours cycling by the Hudson, stopping at cafes, people watching and gathering inspiration. Head to any one of New York's world class patisseries, have a cup of coffee and make conversation with a total stranger. And walk, walk, walk!

travel diaries

Tell us about the sights noone should miss out No one needs to tell you you've got to hit the beach in Miami to really soak up the place. Ocean Drive, right on South Beach, especially after hours was one of my favourite places and was totally packed with people. The convertibles, the music, the sun and sand-- it's like walking straight into a pop video! However, don't miss the Florida Keys while you're there. The four hour drive from Miami to Key West on US 1, with the ocean on either side is an experience that must be undertaken.

Suggest places for a perfect night out In New York, I have a couple of spots that I make my holiday pilgrimage to every year. The Jane Ballroom in the West Village is the ultimate bar club, with a new world vibe in old world splendour. It's a beautiful, exclusive space with great music that is a guaranteed head above the rest. For spring/ summer nights, the 230 fifth rooftop surrounded by a glittering midtown below is worth every song you've ever heard about the city. In Miami, grab a few friends and head to "Story" for amazing DJ lineups! It has fewer tourists than most of the clubs in the area and an eclectic mix of locals!

The preparations have been made. The pans are greased. The stove is fired up. It’s time to do your thing. You may need to call in some assistance when the going gets tough, but some people love to help. No matter what happens on Tuesday, keep a clear head. On Wednesday and Thursday, your perseverance is richly rewarded -someone may even pin a blue ribbon on your lapel. It may fall off on Friday, since the end of the week is going to bring some frustrations. Don’t worry -- they’re minor compared to your successes. Sunday, you’re a star.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a tree? To be so grounded, healthy and tall? You’ll get an inkling of this feeling on Monday and Tuesday. People will want to sit near you. They’ll regard you with awe. Wednesday and Thursday someone may regard you with something other than awe -- it may feel like they’re coming at you with branch cutters and leaf shearers. Hold your own in a dignified way, and don’t let them get to you. On Friday, the world will be righted again. Spend Saturday and Sunday in the comfortable company of your favorite people.

Finding the answer to a question you have on Monday requires some detective work. You spend the day (and Tuesday, too) collecting clues and dusting for fingerprints -- all metaphorically, of course. You’re attempting to bring out the truth. Wednesday and Thursday you’re very influenced by the theories and perspectives of others; a conversation about someone’s opinions has the added benefit of unearthing a lot of facts. Friday and Saturday are paradoxical: The clearer things become, the more questions you have -- internal questions regarding your future. Spend Sunday mulling.

Elephant in the room? Maybe you should deal with it, because it’s starting to be demanding. It’s distracting you. Monday and Tuesday, addressing issues directly is the way to go. What do you have to be embarrassed about? Wednesday and Thursday you’re buoyed by your newfound confidence, but the challenge is to get everyone else around you to address problems directly, as you’re doing. Try to get them to be connected, rather than aloof, and to call a spade a spade. By Friday, you’re tired of other people and may want to end the week with a pizza and a rented movie. But Sunday’s a riot.

You have enough self-respect to hold off until you get what you want. Others may interpret this as arrogance, to which you should reply, ‘What’s wrong with having standards?’ Listen to their advice, thank them for their love and then do whatever you feel is right. By midweek, you open up to the idea of flexibility, but your non-negotiable issues are still non-negotiable. The end of the week (Friday especially), you’re consumed with research. Find out more about this person. Don’t make a decision until you’re sure of the facts. A big piece of the puzzle falls into place on Sunday.

You have an arsenal of tools, but your creativity is the most useful at the start of the week. Your recent projects have been attracting attention -- good attention -- and, if you’re single, you might not be much longer. You’re also ambitious in other realms. By midweek, your regular way of doing things starts to seem both inefficient and boring; a new method for approaching the usual routine is in order. On Friday, resist the urge to be critical of a good friend, and find a way to be supportive. Then, on Sunday, when someone else is critical of you, shrug. Deep down, you know what’s what.

What’s with this sense of imbalance? Why is your home life so weird right now? It’s enough to give you vertigo. It’s also making you a bit sentimental. On Tuesday, no matter what’s going on in the present, your mind is dwelling on the past. There’s only one solution: Romance. You need something fiery to distract you, to bring you into the now. Luckily, romance figures into Wednesday and Thursday, and beauty -- everyday beauty -- plays a major role in Friday, too. The weekend begins a bit frantically (Saturday is chaos), but ends with smooching (sweet, sweet Sunday).

Don’t be deterred. Don’t let them tell you it’s impossible. It’s not impossible. When you set your mind to something, pianos raining from the sky couldn’t get in your way. That said, make Tuesday an exercise in modesty, and recognize that Wednesday, when things don’t go your way at home, is just a hiccup on your path toward grandeur. Sometimes things at home don’t go exactly right. No big deal. Conflicting ideas on Thursday lead to a more complex outlook on a problem, and Friday and Saturday are charged with innovation. Sunday is in your hands.

People’s motivations are not always apparent. The world hurls forward in mysterious ways. You’re not sure why things are happening in a certain way on Monday and Tuesday, but the mere fact that you’re thinking about such questions places you ahead of the pack. Wednesday and Thursday are inspiring. The excitement you get from a small discovery makes you crave still more great finds, and your enthusiasm infects others. Friday and Saturday, you’re constantly dissecting the difference between fantasy and reality. Sunday is positively electric.

The group needs a leader -- this much is obvious -- and all eyes are on you. The group needs a lot of things, you realize, which is what any true leader would recognize. There are also other reasons why you might be the right person for the job. Reluctantly, you agree. On Wednesday and Thursday, you long to help anyone you can. You want to change the world. It’s hard to focus on the entire world, though; you might scale back your ambitions and focus on doing a few small things well. Friday and Saturday, you’re trying new things, running ideas up flag poles and making calls. Sunday offers exciting challenges.

You’re interested in art and music on Monday and Tuesday, but you’re more focused on keeping your cash in your wallet. Music and art can tax the money flow, unfortunately. Find a way to do what you want without spending too much dough and you’ll be very happy. On Wednesday and Thursday, the way to have fun without spending a lot is to strike up wild conversations with people you don’t know. The stories they tell! The things you learn! You spend Friday sorting your thoughts and letting your brain expand, spongelike. Saturday and Sunday are fun in a juvenile, goofy way.

How you got to be so lucky, you’ll never know. (At least, you’ll never tell, because you’re modest -- truth is, it has a lot to do with how hard you work.) Monday and Tuesday are defined by the accolades people bestow on you. Their support gives you lots of energy, and that energy, in turn, inspires you to change your approach to work or school on Wednesday and Thursday. Suddenly, you’re the brilliant one. You’re the funny one. You’re the one everyone wants to be like. Use your creativity to your advantage on Friday and Saturday. Then, Sunday, collapse on the couch after a week done well.
