ERIC CLAPTON: LOCKDOWN SESSIONS

In February 2021, English rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Eric Clapton’s live shows at The Royal Albert Hall were cancelled due to the global pandemic.

Looking for a viable alternative, Clapton brought his bandmates Nathan East (Bass and Vocals), Steve Gadd (Drums) and Chris Stainton (Keyboards) together in the English countryside. Without a live audience, he decided to record the performances, staging a concert in the presence of only the participants themselves while letting the cameras roll.

Overseen by Clapton’s legendary longtime Grammy-winning producer Russ Titelman and recorded live at Cowdray House in West Sussex, the performance finds Clapton and his band revisiting some of his bestloved selections. In addition, they perform an assortment of songs from Clapton’s contemporaries including the Fleetwood Mac tracks “Black Magic Woman” and “Man of the World.”

Resulting in a live 17 track album, “The Lady In The Balcony: Lockdown Sessions”, this documentary presents one of the most intimate and authentic performances of Clapton’s career, offering real insight into the make-up of his indelible catalogue.
