CALLING ALL PEEWEE PLAYERS
Vancouver Community Baseball (VCB) has brought back “Peewee Baseball” after a 10 year absence! In 2019, we formed 6 Peewee teams; 2 travelling and 4 teams that interlocked throughout the lower mainland. All of our Peewee players participated in tournaments throughout the spring and 50% of our players joined one of our summer teams. This allowed many players a total schedule of upwards of 70 games. Peewee teams play out of Chaldecott Park; our jewel diamond since 1994. We look forward to welcoming more Peewee players this season so sign up early.
VCB’s mandate is to provide an opportunity for girls and boys to play baseball at all levels; from recreational to elite travelling teams. VCB’s other teams play their home games at Hillcrest Park and Trafalgar Park. These local parks are integral to creating and maintaining our community feel.
VCB is run by volunteers. Many volunteers enjoy their involvement so much they continue to actively participate long after their children have aged out of their baseball years! Our heartfelt thanks go out to each of our dedicated coaches and executive!
VCB also has many long time local sponsors. They provide support to ensure that our players have the opportunity to play baseball locally. We sincerely thank each of our loyal sponsors.
VCB’s parent association is BC Minor Baseball (www.bcminorbaseball.org). This is the largest baseball organization in B.C.; with over 20,000 registered players. VCB has many age tiers of play: Peewee 12-13, Bantam 14-15, Midget 16- 18 and LMBA 19-45. Eligibility falls within the calendar year, from January 1 to December 31.
At VCB, we are proud to offer baseball for our youth long after their Little League days. Our aim is to develop, “a sense of belonging to our community” through the great game of baseball.
We look forward to seeing you all in 2020! Let’s play ball!
