Long-term Kerrisdale residents may remember Vanity Lingerie, located at the corner of West 41st Avenue and Yew Street. Mo Shahban worked with owner Burton Chark, who became his friend and mentor. When Vanity Lingerie closed, Mo and Rahima Shahban opened Monaliza’s.
Many customers witnessed Mo and Rahima’s daughters grow up as they worked alongside their parents. Faizah, Shafia and Shenaz continue to contribute to the store, although their roles have shifted as their careers have blossomed. A team of long-time staff also work at the store.
