STEVESTON WATERFRONT HOTEL
Visitors to Steveston quickly discover what we all know and love about the area. It’s a gem of a location with its waterfront vista and extensive dyke trails, quaint shopping district stocked with one-of-a-kind shops, some of Richmond’s best restaurants, and a variety of museums to discover Steveston’s rich history. It’s a place people dream of moving to or at least spending some quality time relaxing in our slower-paced community.
In mid-December 2023, Steveston Waterfront Hotel opened its doors.
Kate Francois is Onni Group’s Director of Hospitality Marketing. She says, “We wanted to create a space where modern life seamlessly blends with the historic charm of Steveston Village. Our apartment-style suites offer the unique opportunity to experience Steveston and beyond with accommodations that feel like home from the moment you arrive.”
Steveston Waterfront Hotel contains 32 beautiful studios and one, two and three bedroom suites. Some of the suites have waterfront views while others feature neighbourhood views. The hotel is located on the ground level of buildings Starboard and Port at Imperial Landing on Bayview Street; it was developed this past year and was completed in time for the opening on December 15.
This is the perfect place to suggest friends or family stay if you cannot accommodate guests at your home or are expecting a large crowd for a family reunion, wedding or other special occasion.
Families appreciate the combination of extra space, private bedrooms and the conveniences of a kitchen and in-suite laundry. The two and three-bedroom suites are very popular. Steveston Waterfront Hotel even has designated pet-friendly suites.
“Our property invites visitors to experience Steveston like a local with their own apartment complete with the comforts of home and the thoughtful details of a hotel, think cozy robes, welcome treats and luxurious bath amenities. A techbased apart-hotel concept, guests enjoy the convenience of contactless check-in and out via our digital key system. Our digital guest portal provides 24-hour access to FAQ, neighbourhood and itinerary ideas, and a chat feature connecting them with our Guest Services team should they need assistance. And unlike traditional hotels, each of our rooms is a spacious suite ranging in size from 330 sq ft to 1085 sq ft featuring a living and kitchen area plus bedroom(s) and bathroom(s),” Kate says.
We welcome any length of stay between one and 90 days.
Just beyond the doorstep is the Steveston boardwalk, perfect for a morning walk or run. Kitchens feature a complete premium appliance package, including an integrated fridge, dishwasher, stove, oven, and microwave, plus all the cookware and dinnerware you need to create a lovely meal at home. The junior suites feature a slightly smaller package with a fridge, cooktop, microwave, and cookware and dinnerware. Except for the junior suites, all feature an in-suite energy-efficient washer and dryer.
Kate says, “We have partnered with Fern & Petal for our signature line of bath amenities that includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion and a beautiful face spray. It was important to us to find a company that could work with us to create custom blends for our collection and put sustainability first. A small family-run company based in Vancouver, all their products are natural, high quality and they plant a tree with every order.”
Guests love the spacious suites, comfortable furnishings, views from our waterfront suites and the walkable location with access to the waterfront and heart of the village.
While summer tends to be the busiest season for Steveston and the area in general, Kate and her team look forward to promoting Steveston as a fabulous year-round destination with plenty to do and discover. Like other hotels, rates will vary with length of stay, demand and seasonality.
“Tourism Richmond is a fantastic partner, and we’re excited to work with them to bring more awareness to Steveston.”
“We look forward to partnering with different restaurants and attractions to help our guests make the most of their stay in every season. We have an existing partnership with Village Bikes, offering a discount on rentals and will be introducing a package in the spring. We have also worked with Sinfully the Best to create custom welcome treats, and guests enjoy a discount when shopping there.”
Locals can take advantage of 20% off Steveston Waterfront Hotel’s best nightly rates (visit the hotel’s website for details under B.C. resident’s rate).
“We will also be running different neighbour offers during the year and encourage people to sign up for our newsletters to be the first to know when those are released.” Visit stevestonwaterfronthotel.com/sign-up.
