QUARRY AREA
provision of fragmented outdoor shooting areas the use of AXES forms the main approch to design as the buildings are aligned along it. PRIMARY AXIS
-POTENTIAL SPACE is incorporatedin the design which forms the centric or the primary idea which connects the rest of the spaces in the campus. -The AMPHITHEATER is positioned in such a way that it forms the centric part of the student zone.
A hypothetical visual axis straight from the road leading to the quarry area. -Secondary axes emerg= ing from it. 2.
FILM INSTITUTE: - A film institute requires the collaboration of all the courses. -At the end of the academic year, a film should be made which involves all the pre and post production departments like editing , production , sound , acting etc - Thus INTERACTIVE SPACES were provided to involve PEER LEARNING.

ALTERNATE LEARNING HUB Augmenting the Formal Education of Mangalore
“If you wanted to create an education environment that was directly opposed to what the brain was good at doing, you probably would create something like a classroom..”
John J Medina Developmental molecular biologist ‘Brain Rules’ multimedia project explaining how the brain works 2011-2015
THESIS
ALTERNATE LEARNING HUB
The project essentially envisagesan OPEN and encouraging learning environment where knowledge and skills are shared by a community involving primarily peer tutoring. Peer learning or cooperative learning is a mode that employs “ learning for everyone , by everyone , about almost anything.” It involves aspects of self-organization (an active constructive process) and hence requires an informal learning context . Hence an alternative to the customary classroom environment is being sought as the challenge of this architectural thesis.
