Pallav Panigrahi ARC 107 Portfolio
Project 1: Cartesian Prism This project was our first project in the ARC 107 Design Studio, and we were focusing on “creating” space and void at the same time to suggest order. We did this by making models, drawings, and iterations using a “cube” precedent to outline our ideas.
Project 2: Action Space Project: In this project, we were moving from the Cartesian Prism philosophy and moving into the importance of program in an architectural project. We were asked to use a wall as a dividing element in the model and were assigned a certain inuential ďŹ gure to design 3 spaces for them to dwell in, depending on their certain talents or skills.
Project 3 - HHH: For this third project, we had already been introduced to the principles of plans and section, so we used those skills to interpret a house that we were assigned, and show the way that the house we were studying challenges architectural norms and efďŹ ciently combines our ideas to show spatial qualities of the house. My assigned house was House NA by Sou Fujimoto Architects.
Project 4: Final Project For the Final Project, we used our precedent house (House NA), along with 2 other randomly assigned houses (E-1027 by Eileen Gray and the Glass House) and combine their spatial strategies to form our own house design and then construct a series of analytical models all leading to the ďŹ nal model. This, in my opinion, was my strongest project, both conceptually and structurally.
