DIRECTOR OF SUMMER CAMP: Karin Epstein
Karin Epstein is an experienced camp leader, having been appointed Director of Summer Camp at Albany Academy in 2012. In this role, she also supports outreach initiatives for the Office of Admissions and Marketing. Prior to being named Director, Mrs. Epstein taught a variety of grade levels at the Albany Academy Lower School for 16 years and was the Director of the LEAP program for nine years. Mrs. Epstein holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Cortland and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta.

DIRECTOR: Kristin Lundy
Kristin Lundy was an Education/Meeting Planner for Columbia University from 1998–2019. Ms. Lundy has been substitute teaching since 2001 in various school districts throughout the Capital Region. During the summers, Ms. Lundy has been teaching at Hudson Valley Community College and Albany Academy summer camps. Ms. Lundy graduated from Siena College with a BA in Psychology. She attended George Washington University where she obtained her Masters Degree in Event Management. In her spare time, Ms. Lundy is an avid crafter, making homemade chocolates and handmade greeting cards. She enjoys traveling, shopping, reading, and spending time with friends and her two dogs.
Classic Day Camp
STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 4–8
Classic Day Camp offers a variety of educational and recreational activities in a safe and caring environment. Campers will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of structured and open-ended activities during the day.
Activities will include arts & crafts, sports, team building, science experiments, theme days, trivia, and much more. There will also be free play outdoors and campers will cool off daily with outdoor water fun.

Macy Hammond is a proud lifer of Albany Academy for Girls. She earned her undergraduate degree in Childhood and Special Education with a concentration in General Science, as well as a master’s degree in Literacy, both from The College of Saint Rose. Mrs. Hammond is currently a faculty member at Albany Academy, where she teaches sixth and eighth-grade science, along with eighth-grade algebra. Additionally, she serves as the Middle School Robotics Head Coach and the Assistant Upper School Robotics Coach. Mrs. Hammond has been involved with the Academy Summer Camp for thirteen years. She has served as the Director of the Extended Day and Classic Day Camp for seven years and as the Director of the LEAP Camp for four years.

LEAP (Learning Enrichment Activities Program)
STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 4–8
This unique and popular camp is a one-week full-day program. Students choose six activities a day to create their schedule for the week. Activity choices include a variety of academics, world language, visual arts, sports, and adventure. Activities are taught by classroom teachers or seasoned counselors with that particular expertise
and are assisted by enthusiastic summer counselors. To create your child’s schedule, the class charts and descriptions of each activity are available on the Albany Academy website. During online registration, you will select the six periods to create the campers’ schedule. Should an activity reach capacity, you may elect to join the waitlist during online registration.

Roberto Barron attended Upper School at the Albany Academy, where he played varsity baseball for three seasons. He will be graduating in May with a dual bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education Social Studies and Sociology at Penn State University at Harrisburg (PSUH). Roberto is a four-year pitcher on PSUH’s NCAA D3 baseball team. He began working at LEAP in 2021 as a counselor and has continued working as a teacher since the summer of 2023.

In this co-ed, all-day program, students will learn the basics of design as they work to construct and program LEGO Spike Prime robots to complete a series of challenges. We will take advantage of computer-aided drafting to design custom robot

John McNally has an undergraduate degree in Applied Technology Education and a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from The College of Saint Rose. Mr. McNally coached the First Lego League Robotics team at Albany Academy during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Currently, Mr. McNally coaches Albany Academy’s Upper School First Tech Challenge team. He also teaches four engineering courses at Albany Academy.

David Waldin is a lover of all things artistic. His art consists of comics, illustration, and graphic design. Some of his other artistic interests include film photography, designing his own jackets and accessories, and metal music. David has taught a variety of subjects and mediums at Heldeberg Workshop, the Doane Stuart School, and Albany Academy. He finished a two-year program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has enrolled at SUNY Purchase where he will continue to pursue a career in music marketing and promotion for a record label.

Along the way, students will participate in several workshops, games, and other activities that address both performance

Ms. Eliashuk is excited to return to Albany Academy summer camp for her third summer! She musically directed Seussical Jr in 2024 and stage-managed The Addams Family in 2023. Ms. Eliashuk received her B.S and M.S. in Music Education from The College of Saint Rose. She worked as a graduate assistant for Dr. Michael Levi and was the college’s representative for the 2010 NAfME Choral Conducting Master Class. Ms. Eliashuk currently teaches vocal music at Averill Park Senior High School and teaches private voice lessons. Ms. Eliashuk is active in the Capital District theatrical community. As an actor, her favorite past credits include: Sour Kangaroo in Seussical, Mrs. Peacock in Clue, Rosie in Mamma Mia, Pennywise in Urinetown, Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, Carrie in Carousel, and Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. She is also honored to have originated roles in two original works: Finding Home and Pokegama Hotel. She has directed, musically directed, and choreographed shows with local schools and theaters, with her most recent project being Falsettos at SLOC!

Join Coach Mike Murray for an exciting and educational swim camp designed for swimmers of all skill levels! This camp focuses on developing essential swimming skills, introducing participants to competitive swimming, and refining stroke techniques. Under the guidance of Coach Murray, campers will engage in personalized training sessions that emphasize proper technique, speed, endurance, and race strategies.
Whether your child is a beginner eager to learn the fundamentals or an experienced swimmer looking to take their skills to the next level, this camp offers a structured environment to foster improvement and confidence in the water. The curriculum will include targeted drills, video analysis, and in-water coaching to help swimmers master the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
AQUATICS DIRECTOR: Michael Murray
In addition to technique-focused practice, participants will also be introduced to the world of competitive swimming, learning about pacing, starts, turns, and finishes. Campers will have the opportunity to challenge themselves in time trials, receive valuable feedback, and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in swim competitions.
Set at the Albany Academy’s state-of-the-art facilities at the Standish Pool, this camp promises an unforgettable summer experience for all swimmers.
Mike Murray returns to Albany Academy as Head Coach of Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Assistant Athletic Director. A 1999 Academy alumnus, he was a Section 2 Champion and co-outstanding athlete of the year. With extensive NCAA Division 1 and 3 coaching experience, Murray has had a distinguished career and has led three USA Swimming Club teams to success over 18 years. As Victor Swim Club Head Coach (2013–2017, 2019–2024), he guided the team to eight Niagara LSC Championships and national-level achievements. Under his leadership, Victor swimmers competed in Olympic Trials, World University Games, and USA National Team events. Murray also serves as President of the American Swimming Coaches Association and contributes to Fitter & Faster Swim Camps.

REGISTRATION
Register online at www.albanyacademy.org/camp. Visa, Discover, Amex, MC, and eCheck are accepted. Half the cost of camp is due upon registration. Payment installment options are available and can be set up during online registration. Payment in full is due by June 1, 2025.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you choose to cancel registration before June 1, 2025, please submit a request in writing. You will receive a full refund of the tuition minus a $25 cancellation fee/week. If registration is canceled after June 1, 2025, you will forfeit 50% of the program tuition. Children absent from camp will not be entitled to a refund or exchange of dates.
DISCOUNTS
A discount will be given to individual campers who attend a total of three or more weeks as follows: 3 weeks $75, 4 weeks $100, 5 weeks $125, 6 weeks $150, 7 weeks $175, 8 weeks $200.
HEALTH FORMS
All new campers (with the exception of students who attend Albany Academy) must submit current immunization records. Records can be uploaded, faxed, or mailed (see contact information below). Health history will be filled out during online registration.
LUNCH INCLUDED
Lunch and morning snacks are provided. Little & Jr. LEAP and students attending Extended Day will also have an afternoon snack. Our camp is nut-sensitive. Products containing nuts will not be served on campus. The lunch menu is available on our website.
DISCIPLINE POLICY
Albany Academy reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose behavior interferes with the rights or safety of others or the functioning of the group or activity.
