“There will be more than 200 art and specialty food vendors popping up on Santa Cruz Avenue,” said Dana Hale-Mounier, director of Pacific Fine Arts Festivals. “Come and visit with the artisans, learn the stories behind their crafts, and find wonderfully unique items and gifts to adorn your home. Fine Art F.J. Anderson’s majestic oil paintings capture the mesmerizing natural beauty of the sea and sky. His palette of soothing blue, gray and green will create a peaceful backdrop in your favorite space. Surrealist painter Rob Fannin creates dream-like paintings with acrylic paint and other mediums, using varying techniques of thin color glazing and thick impasto. His work can be found in many private collections throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America. Inspired by the Impressionists and Expressionists, Paula Riley considers herself to be a “color magnet.” She pays
close attention to light and shadow, as well as texture, and seeks to tell a story with every painting.
Sculpture and Mixed Media The rustic beauty of Jack Durnford’s mixed media canvases will add interest and surprise to blank walls. He uses natural colors of cream, gray, blue and gold to create multifaceted, abstract works of art. Steve Snyder’s amazing bronze and steel sculptures capture emotions and the state of the soul. Fear, joy and pain are expressed in his graceful sculptures; the emotion of each piece is captured in the body language of his metal figures. Lorra Lee Rose creates visually stunning artworks using brilliant naturally colored feathers to make life-size human figures and masks, as well as smaller pieces featuring crystals in addition to feathers. Her work has a mythic, fantastic quality, evoking a sense of belonging to another time and place, while still being intensely vivid and present.
Functional Art Check out David Wertheimer’s natural hardwoods fashioned into high
quality, unique home decor with a fun sense of style combining mid-century modern and steampunk. All the work, locally handcrafted by the artist, can be customized to meet your needs. Jon Price is a third-generation potter. In fact, he started throwing on the potter’s wheel and making his own glazes when he was only 10! Today, he sells exquisite crystalline-glazed ceramic vases in a variety of vibrant colors. From robin’s egg blue to peridot green–and everything in Continued on page 6
