For this newsletter, we are going to cover the Texas-Oklahoma District, the District Staff, the District Board, Key Club Acronyms, COCI, and the Club Spotlight. I added explanation to what I think are some of the harder things to learn about Key Club. I’ve also added an explanation about the different acronyms that are commonly seen and mentioned. There’s also a very important guide to updating your club’s COCI and a new addition that gives the spotlight to a club.

How does the T-O District Work? Key Club International is the largest high school service organization available to students like you so of course they have a system in place (seen in the pyramid on the right) to make the whole system run smoothly and efficiently. Our District is the Texas-Oklahoma District so we have clubs from all over both states. Within the District there are Regions and ours happens to be Region 14 which is why we have a Regional Advisor. Within the Region we have Divisions and ours is Division 11 which is why you have me, your Lieutenant Governor. And of course inside the Division, we have the Clubs which include all of you Key Clubbers.

Texas-Oklahoma District Board The District Staff is part of the District Board but those positions that make up the District Staff are basically like the head of the entire T-O District. The District Staff includes the District Governor, District Secretary, District Editor, District Treasurer, and Convention Liaison. And then when you combine the District Staff and the rest of the Lt. Governors from all of the Divisions within our District, you get the District Board. We meet in Dallas for District Board Meetings where we work to further the progress of our Divisions and the District as a whole. We do this by meeting with our Regional Advisors and also receiving/giving reports on the work we have done.

Hey there! We appreciate it when you show us how great of a club you are! So make sure to follow through with your duties. That means holding meetings, having service projects, paying dues, writing Tex-O Key articles and sending in your monthly report! - The D Staff
Whether it’s pop culture or the ever-changing nature of the English language, acronyms are here to stay. Here’s a quick guide to Key Club Acronyms: MR or MRF- Monthly Report Form CKI- Circle K International (Kiwanis service organization for colleges and universities) DEC- Divisional Election Conference (to elect a new LTG) DCM- Divisional Council Meeting (like a PCM except it’s put on by and for Kiwanians) DCON- District Convention FTC- Fall Training Conference (where all Key Club Officers are trained) ICON- International Convention Interclub- Where two or more clubs meet together for a service project KCI- Key Club International KI- Kiwanis International LTG- Lieutenant Governor PCM- Presidential Council Meeting (hosted by the LTG, updates clubs on new stuff) T-O- Texas- Oklahoma NL- Newsletter

How to Update the COCI It is CRUCIAL that you update your COCI (Club Officer Contact Information)!
1) Make sure it’s this webpage.
1) Go to http://tokeyclub.com/ 2) Find the Members Only tab on the ribbon of the webpage then copy and paste your school into the Login at the top right. Type in your password, if you forgot or don’t have one, contact the District Administrator whose name is Walt Roetter at secwr.stx.rr.com. 3) Now fill out all of your Officers’ info! Feeling confused or your school’s name isn’t on the Members Only list? Email me @ : ramirezpaloma06@gmail.com
2) Members Only tab to your right. Copy and paste the school name into this Login.
Division 11 Club Spotlight Has your club had a service project recently that you’d like to be recognized for on this newsletter? Well send me an email! That simple! Note: this doesn’t simply apply to service projects but also socials, interclubs, attendance at Division events and membership recruiting. I’ll also be on the lookout for the clubs that send in their MR or dues. I’ll choose fairly! So make sure to make send in a picture and a description of the event that occurred!
