ABOUT ME My journey has a textile design student has been long and versatile. Due to circumstances, I had to take a two-year break after one year of studying, during which I went to study tailoring and styling in Tallinn Industrial Education Centre. It gave me an advantage when returning to EAA, because I had the tailoring skills necessary to follow through with projects from begining to end. After finishing TIEC I had the courage to involve myself more in fashion as it has always been something I’ve taken interest in, but lacked the technical skills to feel confident in pursuing it. From then on I have associated many of the speciality projects in EAA with fashion. Having practised and mastered different techniques in textile design I am now able to choose the methods that are most appropriate and efficient in developing and making a collection. Studying in textile design has also helped me to become a better freelance costume designer. It has given me knowledge that makes my work more enjoyable and interesting. As I am quite an impatient and spontaneous person, I try to keep my work life busy with different projects involving textile and fashion. Studying textile design has truly affected me as a textile and fashion designer, and for the moment I wouldn´t choose any other medium to express my creativity.

TIMELESS DREAM
The longing for the magic of ornamental patterns from the past eras, for the delicate strength of a graphical line and for the multilayered game of shadows creates a challenging dialogue between the classical fineness and the modern unlimited free mixture of elements. Appreciating the old and making use of the new, another organic entity will forms out of their elements and techniques, giving birth to a world of dreamlike chaos. The fixed position and pose of the ornamental lines is slowly decreasing in stability, giving way to the gripping spontaneity of the shadowing clouds. Together they are to transform the reality and change the rules of order and chaos, acting in search of values and beauty yet unseen.

STORIES
“Stories” is a hand-illustrated bedspread, where the illustrations symbolize the thoughts I am having before going to sleep. Often I find myself thinking about the stories I´ve heard and people I´ve met during the day, which makes it difficult to fall asleep calmly. To prevent that I´ve created a bedspread which keeps the thoughts and stories to itself so I could have a better time fallin asleep. At least one would hope that.

MAFIA Inspired by the cruelty of mafia, this garmet is designed to question their actions and to shake their kingdom. Let it be known as a pattern to protest against their activism.

THE FALL The fall is a tapestry project, where I was curious to mix old techniques with new, thus the combination with tapestry and men´s bomber jacket. The idea was to find another use for tapestry. The print is inspired by geometrical motives, which can either resemble broken flowers, leaves, birds etc.

PRESENT TENSE
Comfort, unisex and quality is what describes these sweaters the most. Being inspired by the 90s Seattle music scene the garmets could easily fit in that era. Lose fitting makes sweaters easy to wear and combine with other clothings.

PHOTO Costume design for “ Photo” with Helen Ehandi “Photo” is definitely one of my first important jobs as a costume designer. I´ve learnt the importance of team work and to have the same understandings with the director of the movie. Even though the days are long in film making, it is much more time consuming for a costume designer to prepare everything beforehand. Finding the perfect clothes might be quite difficult at times. Besides that, costume designer has to be always ready if a shirt breaks or something gets dirty. It´s important to think and act fast. Another thing to pay attention to is the continuity scenes, where it´s crucial to take photos of the actor or actress and write down every detail of how he or she looks like.
