Illumination

Debido a las impresionantes vistas en todas direcciones, los arquitectos optaron por revestir el edificio con vidrio, pero debido al clima local, esto habría creado un invernadero insoportablemente caluroso o insostenible por su alto costo ambiental y de enfriamiento. Los arquitectos optaron por envolver el edificio en una rejilla doblemente curvada con acristalamiento en la superficie interior y paneles de sombreado en forma de diamante doblados en el exterior. Los paneles de sombra, u hojas, fueron diseñados para filtrar la luz del sol pero permiten que una proporción de sol ingrese al interior de los vestíbulos para animar y enriquecer el espacio. La ganancia solar reducida permite que el centro logre objetivos de baja energía. Hay varios staccato de luz, a medida que cambia la dirección de la luz del sol, desde una serie de rendijas hasta patrones en forma de rombo que se propagan por los pisos y las paredes.

Due tothe stunning views in all directions, the architects opted to clad the building with glass, but due to the local climate this would have created an unbearably hot greenhouse or unsustainable due to its high cooling andenvironmental cost. The architects chose to wrap the building in a doubly curved grid with glazing on the inside surface and bent diamond-shaped shading panels on the outside. Shade panels, or leaves, were designed to filter sunlight but allow a proportion of sun to enter the interior of the hallways to enliven and enrich the space. The reduced solar gain allows the facility to achieve low energy goals. There are various staccatolights, as the direction of the sunlight changes, from a series of slits to diamond-shaped patterns that spread across floors and walls
