Future-proofing Architecture Graduates in Building, Design, Digital, & Community
“How will I shape the future?”, many young architects ask.
Today, so much is demanded from architecture beyond the conventional past of building. We face the daunting challenges brought by climate change, the global economy, adoption of fast digital community culture & technology brought by the I.R. 4.0. While our world gets faster and more volatile, so would the reliance of humanity upon, our capacity of ingenuity, and humanitarianism.
In the spirit of professionalism, the Architect (in the era of) 4.0. must rise to give an answer before society beckons.
I believe the key to answer is through a stronger awareness and purposeful roadmap for young architects where PAMNEXT could be the leading platform.
We must realize that within our diversification of our fields, and values, we have a common destination. Meaning to harness our full capacity, we must build it through building a stronger culture of participation, advocacy, research and debate.
The Architect 4.0. today is one that is on ground, crosses discipline and relies upon research and innovation more than ever in history, why don’t we?
We want an agile transformation achieved through meaningful conversations, brought by our active participation in issues we care about. Taufiq Nazarudin
PAMNXT represents the ambition, excellence of young graduate architect's talent and capacity, innovation, in raising the bar of practice high, while rooted in building communities.
Nationally there are many issues of youth unemployment, a decline of pay and revenue in the construction industries, slow adoption of digital, participation of women and keeping on track of professional development as key issues that warrant thought, action and recommendations from the institute, to positive affect Graduate and Young Architects.
The committee at PAM lead by the Chair and Co-Chairs working closely together in the teams and cross committees ensures a fair coverage of these pertinent issues across.
