Why Every Speaker/Author Needs to Launch a Coaching PrograM (Continuiation of Page 7)
Think like an entrepreneur - not like an author. Sure, you can go speak and sell books in the back of the room. But you're not leveraging the entire business model of what is possible with a book. ● You can hold a yearly conference or convention around the subject of your book. ● You could create a whole sales funnel and launch video/audio lessons for different levels of learning. Think about launching a series for those who are beginning, then intermediate and finally advanced. ● You could coach individuals and consult with businesses. ● You could sell your book in bulk to organizations. ● You could become a paid spokesperson, columnist or a regular contributor to media organization as the expert. ● You could get sponsors and provide them with content for their blogs. The opportunities are endless. There are hundreds of products or streams of income you can pull out of your book, but you've got to think like an author-pre neur. It's really about leveraging your resources, expertise and business savvy to get to the next level. Ministry marketing pioneer, pionee Award-winning social media strategist and PR Coach Pam Perry helps authors, speakers and coaches garner publicity and leverage online strategies. As a 20-year PR veteran, she is also the co-author of "Synergy Energy: How to Use the Power of Partnerships to Market Your Book, Grow Your Business and Brand Your Ministry." She offers help through her private mentorship program at http://www.PamPerryMentoring.com She also does an "Authorpreneur Bootcamp" and publishes SPEAKERS MAGAZINE. www.speakersmagazine.net

Being a Polished Speaker Means You Have To Look the Part When you speak from the stage, not only are you conveying your message, you are also non-verbally communicating with your audience through your image. In fact, you are actually telling your story through your image. And, that story is told in the first 30 seconds of hearing and seeing you. So my question to you would be, What Story Are You Telling? From Fro your hairstyle, accessories, to the way you smile at people; you are always speaking. So even if you powerfully deliver your speech, if your image does not match, you risk your audience becoming distracted or having to search to determine if what you’re saying is valid, because you’re image may be sending mixed messages. And while you may be a brilliant, persuasive speaker, if you’re not packaged in such a way that it truly connects with others, then you’re not going to make your strongest impression and attract the opportunities and roles that you truly deserve. As speakers, it’s our responsibility to “practice” what we preach, and that also applies in our image. We must Look the Part to Get the Role. So as you intentionally prepare your speech, be just as intentional with your image so that you can provide a 360-degree experience of excellence. Brandi Mitchell is a visual brand strategist and author of Look the Part to Get Brand the Role: The Ultimate Visual Branding Guide. She is the also the founder of The Package the Product of You Academy. She consults speakers, coaches, and entrepreneurs on how to go to their next level by packaging themselves and their expertise in a way that makes them stand out from the crowd.
