What Makes Aurora Expeditions Different?

Smaller Groups

The special nature of our voyages lies in our smaller group numbers. Unlike larger ships, our expeditions average around 132 passengers per voyage, which means you will be able to join every excursion into the stunning wilderness.

In certain destinations such as Antarctica and parts of the Arctic, passenger landing numbers are capped; however, our expeditions are specifically tailored to each destination, allowing our passengers the best opportunity to participate on each outing – whether it be through Zodiac cruises, shore landings or one of our many adventure activities. With an expedition team-topassenger ratio of at least 1:8, small groups also mean more one-to-one time with your Expedition Team!

State-of-the-art Ships

Offering the first ever passenger ship to feature the revolutionary Ulstein X-BOW® to cross oceans more comfortably and efficiently, expansive observation decks to bring you closer to the natural environment, and unsurpassed environmental features, our ships offer the perfect base camp for adventures at the outer limits of human exploration. Plus, our small, ice-strengthened ships allow you to land in more locations than larger vessels can, which gives us extra flexibility and opportunity for unexpected wildlife encounters.

Expert Guides

Our highly acclaimed Expedition Specialists are some of the best in the business. Many are recognised world leaders in their respective fields and they enthusiastically share their knowledge with all passengers to ensure that each moment you spend with us is interesting and educational.

Spirit of Adventure

No matter where we are, we encourage a true sense of exploration. Zodiac-cruise into a craggy cove to take a closer look at rockhopper penguins scaling a cliff, or join a guided hike across the tundra in search of the elusive arctic fox. Plus, you can choose to be as adventurous as you like with our unrivalled array of optional activities.

Relaxed Onboard Atmosphere

Our friendly Expedition Team will make every effort to ensure that you feel right at home throughout your expedition. Whether that means sharing thrilling tales of adventure at the bar, dining in friendly groups in our open-seating dining room, or heading up to the observation deck in your pyjamas for a midnight polar bear sighting, our small groups and warm camaraderie create a relaxed, informal atmosphere on board.

Included Extras

Whether it is a expedition jacket to keep, charter flights or pre-/post-voyage accommodation and gratuities, our inclusions are what most others would consider extras. For a full list of inclusions for each voyage, please view the itinerary page on our website.
