We began offering expedition experiences during our first sailing to Antarctica in 2013 led by a highly qualified, world- class expedition team, and those itineraries have been offered every season since. This success opened the door for our ‘Ventures by Seabourn’ programme, featuring Zodiacs, kayaks, and guided hikes to enhance destinations such as Alaska, Australia & New Zealand, South America, Norway and Greenland.
Having entered service in July 2022, Seabourn Venture represents a new era in expedition cruising, designed for those whose appetite for unique experiences is matched by a taste for ultra-luxury amenities. With just 132 luxurious ocean-front suites onboard, guests will explore the world’s most exquisite destinations in Seabourn’s incomparable elegance and ease. A sister ship Seabourn Pursuit arrived in 2023.
Designed and built for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards, both ships feature a new innovative design, incorporating many features that have made Seabourn ships so successful. Two custom-built, 6-seater submarines provide an unforgettable view of the world beneath the ocean’s surface, a complement of kayaks and 24 Zodiacs can accommodate all guests at once, allowing for a truly immersive experience… all alongside a crew that includes an outstanding and well-travelle d expedition team comprised of highly regarded wilderness experts, scientists, historians and naturalists.

During expeditions in the Amazon River, explore varying environments shaped and differentiated by the river itself, divided into three major regions: You’ll visited flooded forests and Backwater Tributaries, where the river is wide, slow and winding. In the Frontier Amazon, our ship passes near to the forest where there is less frequent evidence of human population. In the Peruvian Amazon encounter indigenous populations and discover age-old human traditions surviving unaltered by the outside world.
Travelling by zodiac with the Expedition Team, you will learn h ow the rise and fall of the river relates to the rise and fall of fort unes. Explore by Zodiac the Lacepede Islands, identified by Birdlife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA) because they support over 1% of the world populations (18,000 pairs) of brown boobies and 20,000 pairs of roseate terns. Immerse yourself in a remote Indonesian culture on the inhabited island of Matakus. Swim from a sandy beach and snorkel amongst Indian ocean coral and fish.
These amazing watercrafts provide our means for landing on trackless beaches, desert isles and far-flung icy shores where no docks or other facilities exist. They carry guests to towering fjords, among breaching whales and stately icebergs, into jungledraped channels and untouched coral reefs. Our fleet of 24 Zodiacs can all gather beside the water-level shell doors on either side of the ships, enabling call guests to enjoy a complimentary Zodiac tour at once.
