A staff member from the company will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour around the historic center of the city. The first stop will be at Plaza de Bolivar to walk along the streets and take a close look of the most important buildings of the city, such as the National Capitol, which is the center of the country's legislative life; Casa de los Comuneros; Casa de Nariño, which is the Presidential house; and the Santa Clara Church Museum. The tour includes a visit to the Gold Museum, which exhibits about 34,000 pieces of metalwork from various Hispanic cultures and a visit to the House Museum Quinta de Bolivar, the house belonged to Simon Bolivar. The tour continues to the iconic symbol of Bogota, the Monserrate Hill rising up to 3,152 meters above sea level, to visit the sanctuary where you will find the statue of the Lord of Miracles. From there it is possible to enjoy the best view of Bogota. In the afternoon time for lunch and we will continue the tour through La Sabana de Bogota to the town of Zipaquira, which name means 'city of our Father' in the language of the Chibcha. This magical natural attraction has one of the most beautiful natural 13 hectares forests housing a wide variety of species with over 600 kinds of plants, more than 70 species of birds and more than 2,000 species of butterflies. Lunch at “Pollo a la Carreta” restaurant, where you will enjoy a typical regional lunch. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the coffee culture “RECUCA”, will teach us how to become coffee growers by participating of the activities at a coffee farm designed to recreate the labors of coffee farming. Transfer to the hotel according to schedule. Duration: Approximately 8 Hours. DAY 5: Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will be taken to the principal location of the National tree and the world’s tallest palm, the Quindío wax palm in the Cocora Valley in the town of Salento. A guide from the area will take us into the natural cloud forest along the eco-trail to enjoy the magnificence of the palm trees and the spectacular landscapes. There, we will have some free time before going to Salento. A town of colorful balconies, handicraft workshops and a great viewpoint of the whole area. Time to enjoy a delicious typical lunch. You will visit the Bare Feet Park (Parque de los Pies Descalzos), the square where you can find some sculptures of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, the Metropolitan Cathedral and Cerro Nutibara, where you will see a replica of a typical village in Antioquia from the twentieth century that includes a church and the mayor’s office, the famous pueblito paisa. The place is full with local food restaurants and craft shops and also will have the chance to make a stop at the perfect spot from where you can have a great view of the city. Return to the hotel. Accommodation. DAY 7: Breakfast at the Hotel. Early in the morning, one of our representatives will pick you up at the hotel to take you on a journey through beautiful landscapes of mountains, valleys and charming towns. We will visit the towns of El Retiro, La Ceja and Rionegro, a town from the XVI century that still preserves the old buildings of earlier times as the Historical Museum “Casa de la Convencion”. In the rural area of Rionegro we will find the "Parque Tutucán" (A copy of an old typical town of the zone). The plan includes a typical lunch at la Fonda Del Arriero and entrance to the Tutucan Park. Return to the hotel at the end of the day. DAY 4: San Agustín. After breakfast drive to the small village of Isnos, where the archeological sites "El Alto de los Ídolos" and "Alto de las Piedras" are visited. Ride back to San Agustin and in the afternoon either horseback riding to the sites of "El Tablón" and "La Chaquira or alternatively visit of the narrowest point of the Magdalena river “El Estrecho”, where the river passes through a small canyon, where it is only 2 meters wide.
