Perovskia is responsive to daminozide (Alar) spray. The rate of 2500ppm is good to make a compact plug. However, if planning to pinch later, it is recommended to using light rate of 750-1500ppm for just tone the plugs.
Germination and Plug Culture Info • Good and fast germinator. Germination in 2-4 days dependent on temperature. • Germination conditions: 18-22⁰C. Cover with vermiculite. Moisture level 4. Light is optional. • Maintain high moisture level (level 4) through stage 2. • It is doable with single sowing but will take 1-2 more weeks for plug crop time. • It is responsive to daminozide (Alar) spray. Daminozide at 2500ppm is good to make a compact plug. For planning a pinch later, lower rate of 750-1500ppm will tone the plugs well. • Plug time (288 cell): 7 weeks for 1 seed per cell (Spring) 5-6 weeks for 3 spc (Spring)
