Benefit: Time savings during drive commissioning
Configuration tools FlashDrop tool
Advantage: Easy to use tool for high volume machine builders and distributors for pre-configuring drives
© ABB Group February 22, 2013 | Slide 11
Feature: FlashDrop is a powerful palm sized drive configuration tool that copies a pre-defined drive parameter set into a drive in 2 sec without a power connection to the drive!
Benefit: Considerable time savings with volumes of drives
Configuration tools DriveWindow Light
Advantage: Easy and flexible parameter setting and file management at the office or at the site
© ABB Group February 22, 2013 | Slide 12
Feature: DriveWindow Light is a PC tool for drive startup and maintenance. It can be used in an offline mode, which enables parameter setting at the office even before going to the actual site
Benefit: Flexible use of the PC tool results in time savings
Energy efficiency tools PumpSave and FanSave
Advantage: Easy-to-use PC tools for estimating energy usage and potential energy savings
© ABB Group February 22, 2013 | Slide 13
Feature: PumpSave and FanSave calculation tools running in Microsoft Excel estimate potential energy savings when running variable speed drives instead of other pump control methods such as throttling
Benefit: Estimating energy cost savings and time for return on investment with ABB drives
Built-in PID controllers
Advantage: Accurate process control on the basis of actual need versus wasted power of less accurate process control
© ABB Group February 22, 2013 | Slide 14
Feature: Two powerful, independent and built-in PID controllers for regulating pressure, flow or other quantities on the basis of the actual need
Benefits: Energy cost savings, quality of the process and goods, reduced maintenance, no need for external PID controller
Built-in PID controllers PID sleep and sleep boost
Advantage: System operates only when needed
© ABB Group February 22, 2013 | Slide 15
Feature: PID sleep is typically used to avoid many start/stop sequences of pumps and fans especially in level control and booster applications. PID sleep boost can be used to extend the PID sleep time
Benefits: Energy savings, less maintenance, increased system life time
Pump and fan control (PFC)
