Manifesto There was a time when the world was big. Lands were unnervingly unfamiliar and people and places were explored with great courage and wonder. Now, we’re told, the world has grown small. What was once daunting and exotic has become increasingly familiar. The paths have been trodden, the trails have all been blazed. Pangea embodies the notion that there is always more to discover, more to do, more to see. We believe that true adventure is the exploration of the unknown.

...

And while the world may feel smaller, there is still so much to explore. Our designs are inspired by our own experiences traveling to some of the farthest flung places in the world. We went there, not so you don’t have to, but so you can, in style. Pangea isn’t what you pack for a trip, it’s what you pack for a journey.

Thai Elephant Product Story

Inhabiting the lush mountain forests before the presence of civilization, the elephant stands as a cultural icon in modern-day Thailand. The magnificent creature has long played ally to man in both labor and warfare, and has evolved to become a symbol of fortune in modern times. More to the Thai than simply a beast of burden, the elephant articulates prosperity and fortune, as the superstitious pay to pass beneath it in order to share its luck.

Ndebele Tribe Product Story

Passed down from generation-to-generation amongst the women of the Ndebele Tribe, these designs find their roots in cultural home design. The South African tribe believed specific forms of wall painting possessed spiritual significance. The paintings themselves were often embedded with images of what those families aspired to, and often reflected the ambitions of the communities themselves. These striking designs are expressive rituals that reflect both spiritual and ancestral reverence.

Moroccan Berber Product Story

These designs were inspired by strolls through the markets of Marrakech, Morocco. Sold here, amongst the fire blowers and thick scent of jasmine, are rugs handspun by the women of the Nomadic Berber tribe of the Atlas Mountains. With many centuries of remote isolation, these tribes create rare and beautiful designs that reflect the identity of a culture undisturbed by the modern world. Embedded with ancient glyphs and markings, Moroccan Berber rug designs are deeply rooted in history and often record the myths, legends, and rituals of their ancestral past.
