MARKETWRAP Sensex down by 1.56%@18307.52pts,Nifty down by 1.69%@5414.75pts prov. European indices CAC, DAX & FTSE were down by 0.16% to 0.56% prov. NASDAQ was down by 0.09%, Dow Jones Ind. Avg. was down by 0.20% prov. Sensex down by 290.66 pts@18307.52 & Nifty down by 93.10 pts@5414.75. The Sensex slumped around 300 points and the Nifty fell nearly 100 points as the rupee dropped to record lows, while 10-year government bond yield rose to 9 percent. The rupee fell to a record low on Monday and looked poised for further losses, with a series of measures unveiled last week failing to stall its decline.
