Pardeesville Cruise Night Donates $11,343.54 in First Year To Hazleton Area Agencies

The newly formed nonprofit group called “Pardeesville Cruise Night” held its first car cruise & show in August 2022 at the Pardeesville Playground in Hazle Township and it was a huge success. The event had over 150 vehicles displayed along with 82 tricky trays that were donated, and there was live music by local oldies band “The Legends”. There were also several food vendors and event merchandise, along with kids activities for the more than 500 people who were in attendance.

Representatives from both the Greater Hazleton Cancer Society and Northeast Counseling Services of Hazleton were also on hand. A total of 32 sponsors made the event possible, along with an additional 35 program booklet of advertisers and memorials.

The group currently consists of sixteen family members and friends who have known each other for several years and most of them are car enthusiasts. Group

President Ron Semon noted “our goal was 100 cars and approximately 250 people for our first year, along with the hopes of raising $2,000 for each of our causes: (The American Cancer Society and Northeast Counseling Services for their Suicide Awareness/Prevention Program, both Hazleton Chapters) after all the expenses were paid. It’s safe to say we exceeded that goal tremendously.” Most of the group’s members went to the Hazleton Cancer Society’s Telethon on November 13th and presented a check for $5,671.77 live on TV with host John Beltrami.

A few members of the group then went to Northeast Counseling Services on November 18th and presented officials with a check for $5,671.77

The group is already planning their 2023 event which will be held on Saturday August 19th. They also have a Facebook Page that you can join and follow for event news and updates.
