HAWAIIAN HULA DANCE DID YOU KNOW? Ballet, as we know it today, began in Italy during the Renaissance around the year 1500. At first, dancers wore masks, layers of brocaded costuming, pantaloons, large headdresses and ornaments, and steps were composed of small hops, slides, curtsies, promenades and gentle turns. Quite different than the ballet we know today!

Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Hula! Hula portrays song lyrics in a visual dance form, using the hands to tell a story, while hips sway to keep the rhythm. Learn modern Hula Auana and the more traditional Hula Kahiko styles in this class. Hula is an excellent form of exercise being easy and light on the body, yet great for the core, muscles and joints!
