Designed for those with more than 16 hours of pottery experience who are interested in dropping into the studio but, who are new to the space. Grow Your Own Mushrooms

In this workshop students will learn the main steps used in cultivating mushrooms at home using low tech methods. The workshop will include basic fungal biology, information on tools needed to grow mushrooms, making liquid culture, grain spawn and preparation of fruiting substrates for Oyster mushrooms. For the hands-on part, students will be making their own straw bag with Oyster Mushroom spawn to bring home. Woofers'™ Pup Essentials class is aimed at teaching your pup starting at 10 weeks, basic manners which will help your pup become a well- behaved member of your family. If you adopt an older dog from a rescue with no prior training, these classes will help get your dog off to a good start. Got a young dog going through the teenage "I can't hear you" stage? These classes can help to re-establish the basic training that your pup may have been taught previously in order to get him listening and responding to you again. Nordic Pole Walking

Register for a one week introduction to Nordic Polewalking for beginners. This is a fast growing form of outdoor exercise. It affords a whole body training effect with reduced joint impact. It is suitable for low impact training, cross-training, rehab and recreation. It also simply enhances your walking experience by improving cardio fitness with the use of poles. Each course will take place outside for three sessions over one week. Poles will be provided and can also be purchased for the instructor. Participants are encouraged not to purchase poles before the class as some poles are not conducive to the Nordic technique.

Essentrics

Gentle Stretch

This class is slower paced than Essentrics Stretch & Tone and is suitable for those new to Essentrics or have minimal experience. The class is aimed at regaining your mobility while slowly building strength and reawakening the power of over 600 muscles. It is designed for those who have atrophy-related stiffness, frozen shoulder, chronic aches and pains, or who are beginning to exercise after a long sedentary period. A gentle, slow-paced, full body workout created by the author of Forever Painless and the New York Times best seller, Aging Backwards.

Please note when registering, approximately 80% of the class is standing, 20% is on the floor.

Stretch and Tone

A full body workout suitable for all fitness levels, that simultaneously combines stretching and strengthening while engaging all muscle groups, freeing your joints and increasing mobility. By developing strong, lean, and flexible muscles, the technique helps improve your posture and stamina. Dynamic and easy to follow – this full body technique works through your muscle chains in order to liberate, empower and relieve them from tension in the process making you feel more energetic. If you are new to Essentrics it is recommended to try the Essentrics Gentle Stretch class, which is a much slower paced class to learn the techniques.

Slow Flow Yoga

Sequences in this class are designed to strengthen and stabilize muscles that are prone to injury while stretching those areas of the body that are typically tight. Postures in this class will also focus on balance, coordination, and core stability. This class is suitable for anyone looking to improve their flexibility and strength while becoming better physically and mentally prepared for all levels and types of athletics or anyone looking to improve their health and wellness through a yoga practice.

STRETCH & STRENGTH YOGA

14 yrs+

Cultivate and increase flexibility, strength, playful mobility, balance and breath awareness. You will be led through a sequence of yoga positions focusing on opening up the hips, quads, and hamstrings. Stretches will also focus on the neck, shoulders and chest, as well as strengthening the arms and lower back. To promote muscle toning, light weights will be used on occasion. Enjoy a calming initial and final deep relaxation portion. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water. All levels welcome to join.

Energy Flow Yoga

Are you struggling with chronic muscle tightness and pain? Do you have poor posture and can't seem to change it?

In this class we will be exploring gentle yet effective Somatic movements that offer a unique brain to muscle re-education which helps dissolve tension-based patterns in the body, stiffness and chronic pain by allowing the tight muscles to relax.

The more you practice, the more results you will see and begin to get control back of your body.

Most of these movements are performed on the floor but the majority of them can be modified for in a chair.

Chair And Balance

This program offers group exercise designed for people with arthritis, osteoporosis, joint replacement, and other chronic conditions who want to get moving and feel better. You'll love the supportive group atmosphere of this program. Must be able to get in and out of a chair without assistance. 30 percent of exercises in class will be standing.

Developed by BC Women's Hospital, this is a fallprevention program consisting of strength, balance and stretching exercises that are safe for those with osteoporosis. You will also improve your posture by strengthening and stretching specific muscle groups, which can reduce pain and other consequences of poor body alignment.

Better Balance

This class combines low impact cardio, strength training, standing core and balance work. Participants will use a combination of small free weights, bands, body bars and gliders in various ways to challenge their balance and coordination. Please note when registering, 90% of the class consists of standing exercises.
