SWIM LESSONS
SWIM FOR LIFE LESSONS
All ages
Swim for Life® is a comprehensive swim instruction program that focuses on the acquisition and development of fundamental swim strokes and skills for learners of all ages and abilities.
Swim for Life® is accessible, flexible, success-oriented and fun. Instructors ensure swimmers get lots of in-water practice in every lesson. Swim for Life® flows seamlessly into the Canadian Swim Patrol program and then into the Lifesaving Society’s lifesaving and vocational training awards.
As an integral part of the Swim for Life® program, Water Smart® education provides information and experiences that help participants make safe choices when in, on, and around water and ice.
SWIM FOR LIFE
PARENT AND TOT PROGRAMS LEVELS 1-3
4 mos - 3 yrs
These levels are for Parent/caregiver and their child and stress the importance of play in developing water-positive attitudes and skills during in-water interactions. Previously Red Cross Starfish/Duck and Sea Turtle.
SWIM FOR LIFE
PRESCHOOL LEVELS 1-5
3 - 5 yrs
This program ensures children become comfortable in the water while having fun developing a foundation of water skills. Previously Red Cross Sea Otter, Salamander, Sunfish, Crocodile and Whale.
SWIM FOR LIFE
SWIMMER LEVELS 1-6
6 - 12 yrs
This program ensures children become comfortable in the water while having fun developing a foundation of water skills. Previously Red Cross Swim Kids 1-7.
After completing the Swimmer program, the next steps include Canadian Swim Patrol - Rookie (Swimmer 7), Ranger (Swimmer 8) & Star (Swimmer 9). The Canadian Swim Patrol provides enriched training for young swimmers who are ready to go beyond learn-to-swim with an introduction to water proficiency. This program is an on-ramp to lifesaving and lifeguarding.
SKATE LESSONS
PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE SKATE LESSONS
All ages
Private lessons are tailored to meet your skating needs. • Pick your dates, times and number of sessions • Lesson length flexibility (30, 45 or 60 mins) • Go solo or sign up with friends (up to 3 people) • Request your preferred instructor Please contact Gabriella at gzerr@panoramarec.bc.ca to book a custom lesson. $30/30min.
GROUP SKATE LESSONS
All ages
Learn to Skate Lessons for both preschool and youth run Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
PARENT & TOT
2 - 5 yrs
This class offers first time skaters an opportunity to get comfortable on the ice through play. The parent or guardian is shown tips and tricks to support their child in learning the skating fundaments. Instructors will guide participants through activities to encourage skating physical literacy. Parents/Guardians may wear skates or ice cleats and a helmet.
PRESCHOOL 1-4
3 - 5 yrs
Preschool levels 1 to 4 are intended to build young skaters' confidence while having fun on the ice. Instructors will lead group games and activities to build fundamental skating skills such as balancing and marching!
SCHOOL AGE 1-7
5 yrs+
School age levels 1 to 7 are geared towards children looking to gain fundamental skating skills in a small group setting. Children will have the opportunity to learn key skills such as skating backwards and crossovers through guided activities.
