Dear LCVP 2015 applicants, Being Vice-president sounds cool, doesn’t it? You go in international conferences, your name is on a name tag with the VP position on it, you facilitate sessions for newbies and you take out people when EB meeting begins. Having a position named like that could be appealing for some of you. But if theses are the only facts that drive you to run for LCVP, let me invite you to leave the seat for another person. What does it mean to be part of the leadership body of a non-profit, nonpolitical, global, independent organization that aims for the peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential through the development of positive change agents with a value-based leadership? Does it mean something deeper than being the cool guy? For sure it does What does it mean to be an EB member? 1. There have been many kinds of leaders in the world, you can think of Hitler, Napoleon, Mussolini and many more. But my question for you guys is, Are they the kind of leaders we want to become in? I’m absolutely sure that the answer is NO. So, have you read the AIESEC way? I guess you have if you plan to run for LCVP, This is what represents a positive change agent for a better society. 2. AIESEC in Colombia is one of the TOP 5 entities out of the 124 that exists in the world. We were awarded with the GIP global excellence award in the IC Taiwan this year and many more recognitions in past year such as the global excellence award in IC Russia in 2012. With that, I just want to remind you where you belong; you belong to an entity that is an example for the world in developing a value- based leadership and you have the chance to be an EB member in it. Feel proud and challenged. 3. The desire of being an EB member starts with a high motivation to grow personal and professionally to put into practice all the acquired knowledge and to challenge
starts with a high motivation to grow personal and professionally, to put into practice all the acquired knowledge and to challenge ourselves to something we don’t know (Outside our comfort zone). But this motivation needs to be present for a year long, because is on you the power to influence directly the development of people (be it your EP, trainee, member, yourself) and also the power to change realities. And, as someone in a movie once said, “a great power is also a great responsibility”. You will be responsible of meeting once a week in an EB meeting, once in a week with your area team and continues to be a son, a bother, a housemate, a good student and whatsoever you are now for a whole year. My final invitation goes for the braves, the ones that are sure this is not going to be easy but want to risks, for those who are not afraid of failing in the path of achieving their dreams, for ultimately the purposeful, collaborative and action oriented applicants that want to be part of the greatest generation AIESEC EAN has ever seen. After reading all these 3 key points I welcome you to the EB member application process Sincerely,
Sergio Alejandro Sierra Duarte Position Local Committee president AIESEC EAN 2015

Things to take in to account Dear applicant, please keep in mind the followings points during your application process: 1. You are applying for an EXECUTIVE BOARD position, not for a specific role, so, if elected; you could not get elected for the first or second position preferred. 2. CHALLENGE EVERY QUESTION! write and re-write as many times as you consider all questions, ask yourself: is this answer representing THE BEST answer I can give? The path to excellence starts here 3. Have powerful conversations; fortunately there are people that have already gone through this experience, so try to get in touch with them. One of those talks was the one that led me to be here. 4. And last but not least. Be brave! This process may lead you to reflect on many challenging things and doubt yourself in some aspects that you may consider yourself to be strong, but never give up and keep in mind the purpose that made you start.
