High School Internships
When thinking about graduating high school and going into college, do you ever think that you will get a job right when you graduate? Yes that may be the case for some individuals but for the more technical jobs and the ones that require more schooling for, look for student who have experience with their major. It is important to know the different internships that are offered throughouthigh school and college. Browsing through the Missoula hospitals web pages I found information regarding the different types of job shadowing and volunteer work that they provide. Starting with St. Patrick Hospital web page I found a link leading to the different volunteer work that they have to offer. St. Patrick Hospital's...show more content...
Participants must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in related high school or college courses or is an adult who has expressed great interest in a health care career (Shadowing Program Policy" 2). It's great knowing that Missoula has these wonderful connections with the hospitals. I guess my real question is that why don't they offer any internships through the school year and only during the summer?
I want to know why the only common internships for the medical field are offered during summer hours and not during the school year. Frenchtown High School 2013–2014 Registration Course Selection Guide stated that "Frenchtown requires student to have 24 credits to graduate. As you get older you are offered more elective classes to take. You have eight classes per semester attending four each day" (6). Most students toward the end of their senior year already have 20–22 credits, meaning you only need two more credits to be eligible to graduate. These seniors have so much time on their hands, and they end up taking work releases or classes they don't enjoy doing. As a senior myself I find myself taking classes that I don't need, but take just to fill in a class period. Having this said, there is so much time on their hands to be able to do an internship during the school year, and not just in the summer. As I interviewed both our High School Principal Jake

Graduation
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, the rays of sun flittered through my miniblinds blinding me as if I hadn't seen light in days. I sluggishly dragged my limp body out of ...show more content...
Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling

High School
Do you remember your high school days? High school for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned.
You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are, what kind of help is offered to you, and what your strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending High School helped build my confidence because my classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome my fear of math.
My classmates were supportive in many ways. I used
to attend study groups for the subjects that I was struggling in. In these meetings with each other,we would study our notes and review...show more content... Most students would wait until the last minute to study and try to cram all the information on a test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke studying would be by telling us to study in a group. This method worked, but the method that I found that helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a good way of studying especially for a test that had lots of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at a single piece of information instead of a whole page of notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your study skills by showing you new ways of learning. Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my
biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be if you were having problems with percents. And they would tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same principle. And this method can help you overcome a fear
