Welcome to our first summer Catalogue. We at Åsnes are very proud to present our first summer collection! It is filled with items based on Norway’s breathtaking mountains and summer climate.

Åsnes er fyrst og fremst kjend for aktivitetar om vinteren, men i 2011 vart Nanok ein del av Åsnesfamilien, og med deira erfaring og ekspertise var det eit naturleg val å introdusere både klede, telt og soveposar.

Åsnes has always been popularly associated with winter activities. Now, as of 2011, we invited N anok to be a part of our Åsnes family. With the help of Nanok’s experience and expertise of summer products we at Åsnes are proud to introduce clothes, tents and sleeping bags to our new collection!

This coming season we at Åsnes will focus our marketing initiatives on brand building and in-store materials. We will be advertising in outdoor medias such as magazines, newspapers and posts during the winter season. We will also focus more within the social media, especially facebook and our very own blog (Hytteboka). We are currently developing our website to be more “outdoor authentic” by including products such as tents and sleeping bags. Our goal here at Åsnes is to increase general brand knowledge by 10%. To achieve this goal we are also considering tapping into the TV and cinema markets. Among TV and cinema ads we will c ontinue using our many sponsorships which build our outdoor brand’s credibility. Cecilie Skog is one of the worlds most accomplished outdoor adventure writers, climber, and avid explorer. She is the only woman who has climbed to the top of all seven continents (seven summits) and also reached both the North and South Poles. Cecilie also crossed Greenland and summited Cho Oyu and K2. Cecilies most recent achievement was crossing the South Pole with Ryan Waters. It was a 70-day trip without the use of wind sails or supplies along the way, a feat no one has ever accomplished before.

Liv Arnesen has conquered a number of expeditions and long ski trips using our Åsnes Skis. She was the first woman in history to have trekked alone, without support or supplies, to the South Pole. Liv has spent a lot of her time trekking in the mountains of Svalbard as a guide. Liv Arnesen is now planning one of her most exciting trips in the near future that will put a lot of people on the edge of their seats.

On October 19th 1911 Roald Amundsen began his arduous journey to the South Pole. A hundred years later a group of guys from Norway (Vegard Ulvang, Harald Dag Jølle, Stein P. Aasheim and Jan-Gunnar Winther) will be attempting the same expedition using our world famous Åsnes skis. They will start the same day, place, and take the same route as Amundsen with the goal of reaching the Pole on the same day of December 14th. This will be a proud day for Norwegians everywhere, a Centenial of Great Expeditions, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Norway will greet them when they reach the Pole.

Aleksander Gamme is a young healthy man with good humor and a great sense of adventure. He has accomplished many expeditions and has an extensive background associated with climbing and skydiving. Aleksander has a background of journalism as well, giving him a unique ability to convey his experiences on paper. In the Fall of 2011 Alexander Gamme, using the new Åsnes EPIC expedition jacket and traveling on Åsnes Skis, will trek to and from the South Pole. Throughout his journey to the South Pole Aleksander will critique our products, giving us great insight as to how we can better our products for our customers. 57
