Physiotherapy
Nationwide quality assured network Designed for use in fast-track injury claims, our practitioner-led service deploys the very latest guidance for the rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries via a range of web, telephone, face-to-face and self-help interventions. The claimant can be reassured with Argent because all our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and have been clinically audited prior to joining our network. Claimants can access one of over 2,000 clinics located throughout the UK or be assessed at their place of work or home. Argent’s proprietary triage software enables our staff to thoroughly assess and recommend the claimant’s treatment needs without the involvement of a medical expert report. Having established the need for treatment, triage data is electronically transferred to an appropriate physiotherapist reducing time and duplication whilst improving the security, speed and accuracy of reports. We acknowledge all referrals within one working day, offer an initial appointment within three working days of contact and provide treatment reports within five working days of the session taking place. •

Psychological Services
Immediate access to psychological therapies
Many injury victims require access to talking-based therapies as part of their recovery or future needs. Psychological interventions can offer rapid relief from many common mental health conditions and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in particular, is a highly evidenced-based intervention. CBT has been proven to be effective for managing depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, eating disorders and many other behavioural disorders. Argent has a national network of over 500 accredited CBT practitioners who work to standard service levels. This enables us to confidently provide services for the majority of claimants including those with more complex or chronic health issues wherever they are based. You can access our psychological services either as a standalone intervention following a medical opinion, or as part of a wider rehabilitation programme. All of our practitioner’s outcomes and performance is audited by Argent’s in-house clinical governance team to assure you that claimants will receive a consistent, high quality, effective service. •

lack of clarity combined with the complexity of managing chronic pain can present personal injury professionals with difficulties. To solve this we have developed a fixed fee pain management assessment service to help you understand exactly what interventions are required, their costs and potential outcomes. Pain management can refer to a broad range of interventions, ranging from self-help programmes to surgical interventions. Argent staff will evaluate the influencing factors which are helping to perpetuate the pain and provide you with a practical bespoke pain management plan. This plan gives you the ability to commission pain management with the confidence of knowing the claimant’s exact needs, the associated cost and the length of time to deliver. This service brings clarity and certainty to a problematic area of rehabilitation.

Telephone case management Support for less complex injuries
This rapid access case management service is designed for people requiring continued support during their recovery and return to work but who do not require a face-to-face assessment. Our telephone case managers work with the injured person, their representatives, employer and compensator to ensure optimum healthcare provision in harmony with the claims process. A comprehensive telephone assessment will identify rehabilitation goals and outline associated costs enabling discussions on funding to take place. This offers you a quicker, lower cost service than a face-toface immediate needs assessment without compromising the levels of support or evaluation of a claimant needs. Telephone case managers work under the same principles as our face-toface case managers and are subject to the same rigorous levels of quality control and audit procedures. Typically, clients who are supported by this service are discharged within six to nine months.

Rehabilitation Case Management (RCM)
Enabling recovery and return to work
RCM is focussed on more complex injuries where it may take months, or even years, for the injured person to return to their normal daily activities indeed for some they may never be able to return to their pre-injury status. This pro-active, biopsychosocial service commences with a face-to-face assessment either at the client’s home, hospital or place of work. From this, a personalised rehabilitation action plan is created which addresses the individual’s medical, social, domestic and mental health needs. Our case managers are all employed by Argent (no freelance or contractors) and have on average more than five years experience as a case manager. This enables them to challenge and influence care pathways to achieve the best possible outcomes. A case manager will work with the claimant to an agreed set of goals that are intended to be achievable and realistic for the individual. These goals are documented from the outset and enable both the claimant and defendant to understand what might be possible, over what time frame and the likely cost.

Work and the workplace
Overcoming the barriers of returning to work Whether it’s prevention of workplace injuries, assessing and adapting the workplace or finding and securing a new job, Argent can help...
1. Workplace support – assessment, design and training Many employers require assistance in adapting or deciding whether a workplace is safe for their employee to return to work. We work on-site with employers and employees delivering a range of practical solutions designed to support return to work decisions. Where appropriate we facilitate a safe return via task re-designs or graded return to work plans.
2. Employment support – existing employer Employees who are medically stable often require support in returning to work in either their previous or new role with their existing employer. Using practical return to work plans, which take on board any wider rehabilitation programme, Argent’s case managers help match the capability of the individual with realistic employment options.
3. New employer support – new job, new employer For those people who cannot return to their existing jobs we offer support in finding a new role. Our Intensive Job Seeking Programme (IJSP) is a three-month programme. The service includes an initial face-to-face assessment, after which our vocational case managers provide participants with a structured programme. This is designed to ensure the person has strong job seeking skills that they will retain beyond the duration of the programme. The IJSP is designed to gain employment, rather than improve a individual’s technical or educational abilities.
