The building will hold educational programmes in various fields for short durations for teachers, from different parts of the world . They will have lectures, workshops which will enhance their knowledge about the ongoing trends in teaching in the world.
interaction
Interaction is an integral part of the learning process. It helps in exchange of knowledge which is crucial in an educational institute. In order to promote exchange of knowledge 3 voids were plugged into the building, each having a different function. 4

Students in the PEC University get free from the lectures and the different performing student’s clubs like- theatre, music, dance, arts etc look for places to practice. At the same time lectures in CEC Building gets over. The GAP between the teachers and students thinking is very large. For knowledge to be exchanged, a healthy interaction is very important
Performing centre for students of the university (High Tensile Structure)
CEC Building
ART is a medium which binds people together. So it was deciced to create a common plaza where performing structures for students club will be installed and a common plaza will be created for interaction among the Teachers who have come for the workshop and the PEC University students.

The tower is an experiment aiming to bring about a wave of expression in the slow moving city of Chandigarh. It aims at creating a free platform for budding artists and performers to showcase and express their talent.
The Shipping Container is one such potential building material that boasts of good structural quality, can be recycled easily and is universally available.
This project aims to explore the prospective functionality of containers that aid in the creation of a platform for budding artists to showcase their talent, a space for open exhibitions, co-working spaces for the artists and movie nights for the general public.

site
The main commercial and business hub of Chandigarh, Sector 17 as designed by Corbusier as the Heart of the City is located centrally in the city at the junction of 2 major roads. The core area of Sector 17 has been planned as a pedestrian paradise of seamlessly interlinked spaces, plazas surrounded by concrete buildings From Hotels, offices, govt buildings, shops, restaurants, banks, theatres, Sector 17 is the Hub of the city and has a large variety of footfall, from office employees to unhasty window shoppers. At the intersection of the 4 plazas lies a chowk or square based on the concept of traditional indian bazaars for interactions of people from different backgrounds.

During the morning, the piazzas near the offices (bank square) are filled with people rushing to their offices.
problems
2:00PM
The piazzas liven up in the afternoon with office crowds having their lunch and mingling at the various temporary food stalls and having a much needed break
An 11 storied building meant to provide scale to the whole piazza was never built hence the the lack of a vertical landmark element makes the skyline of the Sector 17 dull.
6:00PM
In the evening shoppers and tourists fill up the piazzas with the neelam piazza being one of the most crowded spaces and the sound and light show being the major attraction. The bank square is unoccupied at this time.
But too much use of concrete makes the whole place monotonous and rigid leaving the piazzas unoccupied in the scorching summer heat
60% of the piazzas remain unused. The existing public piazzas are lost spaces with no sense of direction. Chandigarh has turned sterile, and the lack of a platform for the arts to showcase their talent is a major issue.

The tower is an experiment aiming to bring about a wave of expression in the slow moving city of Chandigarh. It aims at creating a free platform for budding artists and performers to showcase and express their talent.
The ground has been kept free retaining the open character of the piazza
The tower has been designed as a sculpture symbolizing freedom of expression. The design is dynamic, free-flowing and contradicts its brutalist backdrop and stands out, bringing the piazza to life. It represents expression breaking free in the heart of the city, Sector 17.
This space can be converted to an exhibition space with the exhibits fixed on the panels at various levels
The whole tower becomes an exhibition space with art exhibits fixed on panels. It will also be a coworking space for the artitsts, a backdrop for musical performances and movie nights with projections on the panels. The tower will become a much needed vertical landmark and a visual link in sector 17 and in the city as well

With its perfectly laid grid plan, straight connecting roads and an underlying essence of symmetry; the irony hides in the most pronounced corners of Chandigarh. The irony conceals behinds the faces of its people
Overtime, the empty dump land became a representative of their collective identities.
The children remain involved in helping out their parents in their jobs and lose out on the opportunity to study.
The disorganised vehicular movement on the site made it unsafe for the children playing
The existing parks are breeding places for mosquitoes or have been converted to parking spaces leaving no safe playing zones for children.
The lack of a fence makes it unsafe for the children playing next to a high traffic road
The site was insufficient in the number of benches that catered to only a handful of people.
and in their variant lifestyles. Our underlying intention was to improve the identity of the people residing in the Bapu Dham Slum Colony.

The seating has been designed as a composition of the hollow concrete blocks and bamboo, a vivid fusion of modernism and sustainability.
The cubes made of scrap metal have been designed as multifunctional spaces where the user becomes the designer crafting his/her own space according to the different needs.

The 12 benches are placed along the boundary of the site along the 5 already existing benches to form a human fence.

While some may see it as an intimate space, others may view it as an essential fiber of a social fabric that allows a community with opportunities to meet and exchange ideas.
9 cubes of varying sizes have been scattered around one of the trees. Each cube can serve a different function at the same time.
A row of 17 benches on the periphery of the site act as a human fence. The basic human tendancy of a protective care for its young, is something that was exploited through the design
These spaces can become learning centers in the morning or play spaces in the evening and even interactive pockets during the day.

logo design Brief : Promoting tourism in Chandigarh
Program : Chandigarh Tourism, Logo Design Individual | Competition
The main aim behind the design of the logo was to make it recognizable and spread awareness about the architectural heritage of Chandigarh, which is lost and often neglected even by the people residing in Chandigarh.
The Capitol Complex, designed by Corbusier himself is the mecca for modern brutalist architecture and has recently become a UNESCO World Heritage Site The elements used in the logo are inspired by the buildings in the Capitol Complex. The Open Hand monument is a symbol that conveys peace & reconciliation, and the unity of Mankind. The dynamic skyline of the Capitol Complex has been used in the logo. The colours used in the logo were used by Corbusier to break the dull grey monotony of concrete. The random squares and rectangles depict the grid plan of Chandigarh.
