Cinesynthesis Recalibration of Bollywood Academic/Individual Design Dissertation Project Final Year, B.Arch 2014

Cinesynthesis

Why cant our idea of a film city be as imaginative and ‘Filmy’ as our movies itself?

Imagine a portal where the audience could register their thoughts, their ideas, their suggestions consciously or subconsciously. A portal where we can review a movie while its made within a controlled revelation of plot. A place where director could document reactions of a viewer and use it for his aid. A facility where there is a library of ideas. And suppose you think of an idea of township project where the ‘dream film city’ can come up to house under various blocks and wings of HI-tech studios, technical departments, creative departments and also provide residencies for stars and other industry professionals including one dedicated zone for junior artistes and technicians to live in. An educational facility for students where they can interact with the professionals and get hands on experience at the film making, management and techniques. Why stop here? Let there be hospitals, entertainment zones, Stunt parks, where the best from all over the world is available.

The Hub A Data centre - Bank - Clubhouse conjugation project Academic/Individual Architectural Design Project Fourth Year, B.Arch 2013

The Hub

DC Club

The Hub is a commercial project that has a Bank, a Data center and a clubhouse. The site was located in Bandra - Kurla commercial complex, hence a detailed study of the climatic conditions was done and a climatically responsive structure was designed. The Hub functions efficiently by segregation of visitors, division of function and allowing flexibility of usage. The floors are stacked in such a way that all the floors are naturally lit but are shielded from harsh light. North face has biggest openings while the east and west ones are given blinds as window treatment. The south face is left without opening to avoid harsh light conditions. All the services and accesses are put together in the square frame.

DC Bank

The floors are stacked in a way that circulation is efficient. Bank is placed at the ground floor and club is located midway for ease of access .

The floors are modulated by pushing and pulling them in order to achieve a climatic response. Doing so provides shaded areas and maintains uniqueness of spaces.

Pixel Residency The unique Residences Academic/Group Architectural Design Project Third Year, B.Arch 2012

Pixel Residency

Reference Image

elevation

The design uses the idea of an pixilated image to obtain the facade of the Residential structure. The pixels are pushed and pulled back and forth in a planned manner to get a facade that in result creates changing light and shadow effects throughout the day. The pixels that protrude form an open balcony while the ones pushed in become an enclosed semi open space. Consequently Each residential unit becomes different and gets an identity for itself, unlike the residential structures today.

The hypothetical site is located in Koregaon park of Pune.

Amrut hospital Client : Dr. Amol Chavan Location : Ambejogai, MH IN Area : 7200 sq.ft. Status : Under Construction The hospital was my first architectural project professionally. The design had to strictly follow rules of Vastu and at the same time satisfy the demands of 50 patients, 10 Medical staff and 6 family members. In spite of the plot being too tight, the structure satisfies all the requirements.

Graphic Design Logos and branding Professional/Individual Olive Data Centre and Solutions 2011-2013

Branding Augustus is My own studio started in 2014. The studio deals with Architectural Projects, Web Designs and Graphic design projects.

The brief stated that the logo should be targeted at international travel and Yoga. The idea of the logo was to achieve a combination of Aeroplane and Yoga asana. A symmetric overlapping of silhouettes gave an impression of both these elements and the same was shown in the choice of text.

Travelyog is currently under development stage with Head ofďŹ ces in Hyderabad, Manila and Kuala-Lumpur.

Paintings Collection of paintings Individual

Gods and Men A series of portrait paintings where I have tried to interpret various Gods and Men found in Indian mythological tales. The paintings talk of what I would experience if I witness one of them.

II Kaali II Her anger was just another facet of her beauty ,an ornament rather. It was relentless, without hesitation, the purest form of an emotion, just like her love was. Her eyes could pierce through my chest and sense the panic in my heart while I stood there realising that there is nothing more lethally gorgeous in the universe than a woman who is calm, clear and enraged.

II Sati II Her lips seemed as if they spoke of love often. Her eyes echoed hymns of peace. The glow on her cheeks had brilliance of a thousand suns. Beneath her stillness, she had a power over every magniďŹ cent force on earth.

Womanhood A series of paintings which talk of emotional phases experienced by a lady.

'Cant wake her up.'

"band-aids on foreheads"

"It was rather beautiful; the way he put her insecurities to sleep. The way he dove into her eyes and starved all the fears and tasted all the dreams she kept coiled beneath her bones. The gold-fringed pillow lightly pressed, A perfect form in perfect rest. "

"She lit a cigarette with a tear racing down her cheeks, & after her lips somehow found the strength to stretch into a smile, I thought to myself; "Sometimes, when chaos burns like wildďŹ res around us: we have no other choice but to fall in love with the warmth."

Character Design Storyboard for a movie/comic that I wish to develop further. Jordan is a Noir styled tale of a suspended Cop who is suspected for the murder of his own wife and child. The story would be Jordan's journey toward ďŹ nding the culprits and punishing them. I drew a lot of inspiration from Frank Miller's work in Comics and Movies. Ever wondered what would Chacha be like ,if he existed in the real tangible world. I tried to imagine how would reality mould and modify his character and personality. Someone with such skill sets and eccentricity would deďŹ nitely be not understood by commoners and labelled as an 'Antihero'. Hence the dark undertone to the entire character.

Indian comics need to be revamped if they need to be respected as their western counterparts in the contemporary times. The Indian comic heroes need to evolve to be ďŹ t for these times. Hence, an attempt to recreate Shaktiman with a new armor and costume and features.
