BELONGING AT PARISH

Whether Learning from a Distance or on campus together, Parish Episcopal School’s goal is to nurture an inclusive community of belonging. The School believes that its foundational task is to help students discover their God-given gifts and embrace their authentic identity. Together with our families, Parish seeks to equip students with the competencies needed to lead with equity and empathy. Parish students begin the lifelong endeavor of self-discovery to belonging, thanks to the School’s rich programming and mentorship of an immensely talented faculty and staff.

Parish students have the opportunity to engage with their peers - older and younger - and lead through cross-grade and cross-divisional buddies and activities. Examples include carpool helpers and Designapalooza STEM projects in Lower School; reading buddies and digital support for LS wax museum in Middle School; pep rally spirit leaders and Blair Fellow mentors in Upper School; among many other activities. All students in 1st - 12th grade, faculty and staff are a part of a Legacy Family, with whom they meet and stay connected through trimester Legacy events for the duration of their time at Parish. PreK - Kindergarten also participate in Legacy events with Hillcrest campus-based activities.

Fellowship among students and families is also a key component to the Parish experience. Our grade-level fellowship teams, led by representatives from the Parents’ Association, host events such as parent dinners, coffees, grade-level play-dates and social activities, Spooky Saturday fall festival, and so much more. The PA also host the School’s annual Gala where parents, faculty, staff, alumni, grandparents and friends of Parish gather for a night of fellowship and entertainment in support of the School and its students.

While official school athletic teams do not start until 7th grade, the Lower and Middle (5th/6th grade) School parent-coordinated fellowship sports teams begin as early as PreK 3 – soccer, t-ball, basketball, lacrosse, etc.

At Parish, students and families can celebrate together their many backgrounds, traditions of being a Parish family and the successes they share as a community.
