Scavalco work is placed between the Florence-Castello train station and Firenze-Rifredi station and is done with a box-shaped artifact, partially underground, realized with two -arched gateway where will be placed the new high-speed rails. Inside this important work area is planned a rails ramification to arrive in Santa Maria Novella station with HS (High Speed) and High Capacity trains. TREVI S.p.a. Is responsible to ensure a strengthen ground with adequate geometrical and mechanical characteristics such that excavation can be performed in total security agains induced superficial subsiding and interference between the two digging areas. Turbojet system counts to cut, desegregate and then soil mixing through the combined action of a mechanical and hydraulic energy provided by a geometrical known utensil and high pressured water or cement mixture. Diameter is fixed during project phase through utensil dimensions. The utensil has been arranged for the use of more nozzles, located on the beam’s tip and sideway or on utensil blade.

Operation is done at the outside end of cutter machineries, where covering was only 6 meters from ground level. The difficulty was emphasized by the fact that construction area is nearby the operating train rails and from the necessity to create column with different length, thereby the use of Leica’s GPS solution was fundamental to memorize position with ground movements due to perforations.
