White Oak Bible Chapel children from kindergarten through 6th grade. White Oak Bible Chapel is a small country church who loves to welcome visitors. It was founded over one hundred years ago and continues to minister to families by offering opportunities for everyone to be involved. We have Sunday Schools for kindergarteners through 12th grade as well as adults. Our worship services are a relaxed atmosphere which seeks to address the needs of families as we worship together through music, fellowship, and the preaching of God’s Word. At White Oak we have several values which serve as a foundation for our lives. First, we believe that God demonstrates his love through Christ to everyone and that by grace through faith, every person can be in a right relationship with the living God. Second, we believe that God has taken the initiative to reveal Himself to us through the Bible, His Word. This serves as our rule for faith and practice at White Oak. Third, we believe that the church is the Body of Christ which God is using to bring glory to His name as he manifests Himself to the world. As one expression of the Body of Christ, White Oak warmly invites you to join us for worship every Sunday as we celebrate together the Good News found in Jesus Christ!

Chapel Of The Good Creation to our lake and built homes here. Pastor Oscar Anderson gave our chapel its name, Chapel of the Good Creation. Every summer, on Sunday at 11:00 AM from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, services are held at the Chapel of the Good Creation at Bad Medicine Resort. Services are nondenominational, but reflect the largely Scandinavian Lutheran background of this region. The Chapel of the Good Creation has no regular pastor and depends upon our local ministers and lake residents to donate their time to conduct services. At the end of each service, local residents take turns hosting a coffee time. As in the parable of the “Loaves and Fishes, more than enough cookies and bars always seem to appear to accompany coffee, soft drinks and socializing. The Chapel is hosted by Don Tschudi and Helen Holmer. The Chapel is now incorporated with a nonprofit status. We are blessed with many retired ministers and resident speakers taking turns leading the services. Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day include a special choir music with local music directors in charge of the choir. Bad Medicine Resort is celebrating over 50 years of ownership. All services are open to the public and visitors are always welcome.

These summer church services at Bad Medicine Lake were originated by Rev. Oscar Anderson, president of Augsburg College in Minneapolis from 1963 to 1980. In 1963, at the suggestion of a neighbor, Oscar held a church service at his cabin on Bad Medicine Lake. The idea proved popular, and for the first years, services were held on a rotating basis at cabins around the lakeshore. However, as attendance grew, space and parking became a problem. Bad Medicine Resort had the parking facilities and docks for the boats. We first met on the lakeshore of the resort in 1972-73. Then Don and Carolyn Tschudi built a large hall at their resort, and services were moved indoors. Our congregation grew and grew, as ministers also came

History and Heart of the Stone Church in Dorset First English Lutheran Church is known as the “Stone Church in Dorset.” When the present sanctuary was built in 1936, each member of the congregation was asked to bring a stone from their own home. It was a beautiful picture of what Holy Scripture says in 1 Peter 2:4-5, “As you come to him, the living Stone - rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (NIV) We believe that Jesus Christ is our only Lord and Savior, and forgiveness of sins and salvation are an absolutely free gift bought by His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. This greatest of gifts is received by faith in Jesus Christ, and true faith is always accompanied by a repentant life. We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God, completely Holy and without errors. Our aim is to bring all of God’s precious Word to all of God’s precious people and to help all to grow in an ever richer relationship with Him. We endeavor to teach the Word of God in all its truth and purity in order that all may live happier, fuller, more godly lives as we look forward to the eternal life to come. Come and grow with us in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Each fall our annual “Hunters Supper” attracts many locals and visitors alike to a home-cooked turkey dinner. We believe it is the will of our Lord Jesus Christ that His disciples should preach the Gospel to the whole world; that Christ’s mission for His church might be carried out according to His will; and that Christians unite in worship, practice fellowship with one another, witness to all men, help each other to grow in the Word and see the needs of all men in Christian love. The Christian family is alive and flourishing in our congregation. We extend an invitation to join us each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for Divine Service. We especially look forward to meeting and welcoming folks vacationing in our area. A coffee/roll fellowship time follows the Sunday morning service. During the school year, Sunday School begins at 10:30 AM with a time of lessons and songs.

St. Catherine’s Catholic Church Location: Hwy. 200 & Co. Rd. 2. North Entrance Itasca State Park Mailing Address: 1 5831 Wilderness Drive, Lake Itasca, MN 56470 Phone: 218-266-3604 Priests: Visiting vacationing priests Sunday Mass Schedule: 9:00 AM Memorial Day thru Labor Day
St. Catherine’s Catholic Church is located adjacent to Itasca State Park’s north entrance near the Mississippi Headwaters and it stands as a symbol of Christianity in the area. Constructed by Father Fraling in 1941, using recycled materials, its unique, stucco exterior and distinctive, green steeple appear stately against the towering pines. The interior stucco, with ornate stenciling in natural berry colors, creates a beautiful place for worship. The acoustics within the church are exceptional. The church closed in 1997, due to lack of priests. In 1999, a small local volunteer group developed a program to provide a nearly free vacation including housing, bicycles, boats, golf and guided fishing in exchange for celebrating Sunday Mass. Beginning in 2000, we have successfully filled Sundays with vacationing priests from throughout the U.S. They, along with all our visiting parishioners, have enjoyed the many delightful experiences of Itasca State Park.
The volunteers of St. Catherine’s welcome and appreciate your assistance and support of our program. However you choose to assist us, be it physically, prayerfully, finding priests or financially, we thank you.

OUR MESSAGE There is no subject which was more prevalent in Jesus’ preaching than the kingdom of heaven, that is, the kingdom of God. It was the most common subject of His parables and was the theme of His preaching. In fact, Jesus said that the first thing that a man should search for in life is God’s kingdom and His righteousness. In one of His parables Jesus says that His kingdom is like treasure hidden in a field. It is certainly an apt picture. In this world God’s kingdom is hidden beneath the flaws and faults of believing people, people whom God has made from the dust of the earth. Like the man in the parable, we have found the kingdom of God and obtained its treasure. We now carry this treasure in our sin-corrupt bodies. We wish to share it with you and welcome you to join us at our church in Menahga or to listen online at www.llcmenahga.org each Sunday.

Assemblies Of God, Park Rapids Location: One mile West of Hwy. 71 on Hwy. 34, turn South on Western Ave. Phone: 218-732-8818 Website: www.pragmn.org Senior Pastor: Tim Wilson
Our passion has been to allow the Holy Spirit to mold our church and to make it a place of worship that would be relevant to our culture, and attractive to those seeking a church home here in this area. Although the purpose of all Christian churches is to see people enter into a personal relationship with Jesus, each church has a different personality and unique communication style with which they accomplish this goal. PRAG’s Sunday morning worship service is conducted in a way that is meant to be meaningful to those who currently have a committed relationship with Jesus, and to those who are just beginning to explore the Christian faith. Biblical forms of worship are modeled. We attempt to be sensitive to those who may not be familiar with the charismatic style of worship. We experience the presence of God as we sing songs and hymns that are both lively, expressive and jubilant, and those that are meditative and prayerful. Our prayer is that each person comes into contact and has an experience with our living God. We understand that each individual moves along their faith journey at a different pace, and as we allow it, God brings about change through the Holy Spirit as He reveals truth in His time. Our sermons are designed to be practical as we draw from the Scripture to inspire growth and change in every area of our life. We attempt to communicate in a way that is easily understood by all. Everyone is invited to move into a personal relationship with Jesus, and to walk in obedience to His ways. We encourage you to be a part of what God is doing at Park Rapids Assemblies of God Church.
SUNDAY SERVICES: Sunday School - 9:30 AM (No Summer Sunday School) Morning Worship Service - 10:30 AM Wednesday: 7:00 PM Adult Bible Study Youth Meeting WildFire Children’s Ministry Park Rapids Assemblies of God (PRAG) was started in the early years of World War II. From that time the church has worked very hard at remaining relevant to the many changes in our society. Presently we feel that we exist in this community to: Experience, Explore, and Expect. 1. We provide opportunity for people to Experience God. 2. We explore what it means to be a Biblical Christian in today’s world. 3. We Expect God to reveal Himself in practical ways in our lives. Individually, and as a corporate church body, our great desire is to impact everyone for Jesus Christ. Regardless of age, status, race, socioeconomic standing, denomination, or any other differentiating factor, Jesus commanded us in Mark 16:15 to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” It is the responsibility and privilege of every Christian to carry out this great commission. 26

What kind of church are you? First Baptist Church is an independant Baptist Church that preaches and teaches the Bible. We emphasize holy living (1 Peter 1:1516), care for one another (John 13:34), evangelization (Mark 16:15), and the cultivation of personal spiritual growth (1 Peter 2:2). We are a conservative church interested in seeing people come to know Jesus as Saviour, and in helping those who are believers to become more like Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).
When do you meet? Check website for service times • Sunday School: 9:30 AM • Sunday Worship: 10:30 AM • Sunday Evening: 6:00 PM • Wednesday Prayer & Bible Study: 6:00 PM • Listen to “The Way of Truth” Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on 97.5FM (KDKK) or 870AM (KPRM) Nursery provided at all services.
The Gospel (“Good News”) We are all sinners deserving God’s wrath (Romans 1:18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness.”) (John 3:36 “He that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.”) Jesus has paid the price for our sins (Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 “[God] hath made [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”) Salvation is by faith in the death and resurrection of Christ, not by works or religious ceremony. (Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any many should boast.”) (1 Corinthians 1:17 “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel...”) (John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”)
What can I expect at First Baptist Church? We are a church that emphasizes the Word of God. Our songs are saturated with Scripture, and we generally sing hymns and newer doctrine-rich songs. Most of the service is hearing the Word read and following along while the Bible is preached. The desire is to enable people to have an understanding of the Scripture so that when they are reading it at home, the Holy Spirit can make the needed changes in those who have already been changed by the Gospel. Thus, we are a people who believe that the Holy Spirit uses the Holy Word to make holy people more like Jesus Christ.

We believe this can be true of anyone who comes to God through His Son Jesus, and so we are motivated to tell others about our God and the life that He offers. We worship the Lord with great joy. He is worthy of our praise. Jesus said, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” God first loved us and demonstrated that love in the gift of His only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Because of His love, God has enabled us to reach out to others in love. His love compels us. New Life is a “missions minded” church. Our Mission: To know Christ through His Word and to reveal Him in all that we do; to experience Christ through unconditional commitment to Him and to one another; to share Christ with our community through our faith, life, and witness; and to help others prepare for His imminent return. Our Method: We pursue this mission under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through: 1. Preaching. Accepting Christ’s commission (Matthew 28:18-20), we proclaim to all the world the message of a loving God, most fully revealed in His Son’s reconciling ministry and atoning death. Recognizing the Bible to be God’s infallible revelation of His will, we present its full message, including the second advent of Christ and the continuing authority of His Ten - Commandment law with its reminder of the seventh-day Sabbath. 2. Teaching. Acknowledging that development of mind and character is essential to God’s redemptive plan, we promote the growth of a mature understanding of and relationship to God, His Word, and the created universe. 3. Healing. Affirming the biblical emphasis on the well-being of the whole person, we make the preservation of health and the healing of the sick a priority and through our ministry to the poor and oppressed, cooperate with the Creator in His compassionate work of restoration.
SATURDAY SERVICES: Study Hour: 9:30 AM Worship: 11:00 AM Wednesday Bible Study: 7:00 PM We welcome your interest in the Park Rapids Seventh-day Adventist Church. We believe we are here in this community for a specific purpose; and that being to proclaim the everlasting gospel and to call people back to loyalty to their Creator and their Redeemer, Jesus Christ! We believe the Bible is our only rule of faith and practice and that faith alone in Christ Jesus can bring us into harmony with its teachings. The gospel is the good news that the provision for our eternal salvation has been provided in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, our Savior. If you are seeking a safe place to worship and to nurture your relationship with Jesus Christ in a friendly, family atmosphere, we believe you have found just that place right here with us! Welcome Home!

St. Johns Lutheran Church Synod, we joyfully hold to the teachings of the Bible as they are confessed in the Lutheran Confessions. We are a congregation of conservative Lutherans who have received grace and every blessing from our Savior. Our preaching is centered on Jesus Christ and Him crucified and raised for our redemption. We are joyous in our living, traditional in our worship, biblical and confessional in our teaching, and called to simply live as God’s people. We refer to our worship time as “Divine Service.” The main image behind that title is Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. We do not gather as Christians to “give God his due” as if He needs anything from us. Rather, we gather to receive from Him. Through Word and Sacrament, Jesus brings us the gifts He won for us at the cross: forgiveness, life, and salvation. With these gifts we are given strength for each day, love and forgiveness to share and hope for the future. To that end our worship is historic and liturgical, and designed to glorify God by rejoicing in His salvation. Outside the Divine Service, the education of all ages is very important. During the school year, we have Sunday school, release time and confirmation for the youth. For adults there are opportunities for Bible study Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. St. Johns also has youth programs, women’s groups, men’s group, music groups for adults and children, and many other opportunities for fellowship and service. We also offer the community ABC Preschool, a quality, Lutheran preschool.

St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church The Catholic Community of St. Peter the Apostle was formed in 1887 to carry out the mission of the Lord Jesus, “Go and teach all people!” For well over one hundred years this community of faith, which finds its unity around the Table of the Lamb as it celebrates the Eucharist, has reached out to serve the spiritual and temporal needs of the people of the Park Rapids area. The mission of St. Peter the Apostle Parish is to help people know the compassionate, loving, forgiving God. While the Eucharist is the heart of the community’s life, the mission is carried out through Faith Formation, Religious Education, Youth Ministry and Outreach Ministry, along with the many other areas of apostolic life that make up the parish community. St. Peter the Apostle Parish warmly welcomes all those who come through the door, the door that leads a person to Jesus Christ, the focus of our faith. Through Christ we strive to meet the needs of the young, middle aged, seniors, the sick, lonely and those who are on the fringes of society. It is our desire to serve all, for in serving others, we serve Christ. We invite you to come and experience the Risen Lord in worship, service and community life. Our History: Although Episcopal services were held in Park Rapids as early as 1910, the church was officially organized in 1913 as a mission in the former diocese of Northern Minnesota, since merged into the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. In 2003, Trinity Church was recognized as an ecumenical shared ministry between the Episcopal Church in and the Presbyterian Church USA and has attracted national attention for its unique witness to Christian interdenominational cooperation. In addition, the Episcopal and Lutheran (ELCA) Churches have approved “A Call to Common Mission”, allowing for an exchange of pastors/celebrants between these two groups, and Trinity frequently welcomes a Lutheran pastor to the pulpit.
All Are Welcome: Trinity Church features a warm and welcoming fellowship involving a year-round resident congregation as well as an “extended” congregation of seasonal residents, visitors and guests. The congregation includes worshippers with a wide variety of religious denominational backgrounds. Services are usually conducted in the liturgical tradition of the Episcopal Church, with the Reformed tradition of the Presbyterian Church observed on at least one Sunday a month. 40

In 1920 Father Joseph Decker became the first resident pastor. After Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve the church was once again destroyed by fire. With local support and dedication, the existing church was rebuilt in 1934. A beautiful addition to St. Mary’s Parish is the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes nestled below the hill and adjacent to the creek. It was Father Joseph Maylan’s dream to build this Grotto after having seen the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, while on a tour in France. By the late 1950s, with the help of parish-
ioners, the Grotto and Stations of the Cross became a reality. A 200-foot. “Rosary Way” was added and completed by 1981.
All are Welcome to join us for our weekend liturgies.
