With more than 400 lakes, thousands of miles of trails and a wildlife refuge, the Heartland Lakes area is also a gateway to Itasca State Park, home of the Mississippi River Headwaters.
Meanwhile, the city’s downtown district offers a unique shopping experience with charming specialty shops, cafes, restaurants and Main Avenue’s unique middle-ofstreet parking.
Local art galleries and museums celebrate the history and artistic talent of the community.
Park Rapids and surrounding communities host many summer festivals celebrating small-town values and the beauty of the outdoors, such as the Hubbard County Fair, pig races, a blueberry gala and a logging jubilee.
