ENVI Lodges: A Year of Luxury, Adventure and Sustainability

Envi Lodges Expands In Tanzania And Earns Prestigious Recognition

IN THE PAST YEAR, ENVI LODGES, A LEADER IN EXPERIENTIAL LUXURY ECOLODGES, HAS EXPANDED ITS PRESENCE IN TANZANIA WITH THE TWO EXCEPTIONAL PROPERTIES: ENVI SISINI SERENGETI AND ENVI SISINI MARA (OPENING FEBRUARY 2025).

These lodges not only redefine the safari experience with unparalleled luxury and immersive natural experiences but also reinforce ENVI’s commitment to sustainability. This dedication was recognized when ENVI SISINI Serengeti earned membership in the Beyond Green portfolio, joining a global elite of eco-conscious accommodations.

ENVI Sisini Serengeti: A Haven of Sustainable Luxury

Situated deep in the heart of the Serengeti National Park, ENVI SISINI Serengeti offers a transformative safari experience that blends luxury with environmental and community stewardship. Boasting 11 luxury tents and tented villas, the lodge provides a front-row seat to the iconic wildlife of the Serengeti, from majestic lions and leopards to the great wildebeest migration.

The lodge’s sustainable initiatives are at the heart of its operations. Solar energy powers the property, and water is provided through an on-site reverse osmosis plant, eliminating the need for single-use plastics. Guests receive refillable water bottles, and locally sourced, eco-friendly bathroom products are supplied by an all-women cooperative in Africa.

ENVI SISINI Serengeti is also deeply committed to community empowerment, with 96% of its staff from Tanzania. Local farmers supply fresh produce, supported by training and workshops provided by the lodge. Guests are invited to participate in treeplanting activities as part of the property’s reforestation efforts, conducted in accordance with national park guidelines.

ENVI SISINI Serengeti

Membership in the Beyond Green portfolio affirms ENVI SISINI Serengeti’s leadership in sustainable hospitality. To qualify, the lodge underwent a rigorous audit aligned with 50+ global sustainable tourism criteria, including environmentally-friendly practices, cultural and natural heritage protection, and tangible community benefits.

“Achieving the Beyond Green certification for ENVI SISINI Serengeti is a milestone that underscores our sustainability pillars,” said Paul Jordaan, Executive Director at ENVI Lodges. “It reflects our responsibility toward conservation and community engagement while delivering unparalleled guest experiences.”

ENVI Sisini Mara: A Front-Row Seat to the Great Migration

Furthering its commitment to exceptional safari experiences, ENVI is introducing ENVI Sisini Mara, strategically located in the northern Mara region. The camp offers 10 luxury tents, including a two-bedroom suite with a private plunge pool, perfect for families or groups seeking privacy and comfort.

The camp’s location near the famed river crossing of the Great Migration provides guests with unrivaled opportunities to witness one of the world’s most aweinspiring wildlife spectacles. The camp also boasts a spa, a yoga deck, a communal pool, and a library tent, emphasizing holistic wellness alongside adventure. ENVI Sisini Mara embodies sustainability by using solar power, sourcing locally made furnishings, and prioritizing produce from nearby farmers. These efforts ensure that the camp operates with minimal environmental impact while contributing to the local economy.

Co-founder Noelle Homsy highlighted the lodge’s significance: “Our goal is to create a seamless circuit of lodges across Tanzania, offering safari enthusiasts the opportunity to explore this remarkable country while staying at ENVI-managed properties.”

ENVI SISINI Mara
