Welcome to Rutherford, Sumner, and Wilson Counties.
Serving as the geographical center of the state and sitting just southeast of Nashville, Rutherford County has a lot to offer both in terms of location and amenities. Though residents enjoy a low cost of living, they’re still able to enjoy a high quality of life thanks to Rutherford County’s focus on education, parks and recreation, and small-town feeling.

Located on the southernmost edge of Rutherford County, Christiana is a rural community between Murfreesboro and Shelbyville. Country churches and horse farms dot the main highway and the rolling countryside makes for beautiful scenery.
Single-family homes and farms make up the majority of the market. While large tracts of land are the norm, subdivisions with a smaller footprint are making their way into the community as Murfreesboro grows and more businesses make their way south.
Christiana affords a peaceful, quiet lifestyle. Locals love grabbing a bite and listening to some live bluegrass or country music at Miller’s Cafe or enjoying a tasting at Big Creek Winery.
Eagleville is a small and tight-knit community on the southwest corner of Rutherford County. The area features charming restaurants and antique stores plus an active town council that keeps residents busy. The landscape is beautiful and tranquil and is perfect for anyone looking for a more rural lifestyle with the convenience of Murfreesboro only 15 minutes away.
Primarily a rural community, Eagleville’s market is made up of mainly single-family brick and farmhouses.
Get out and about at the town’s First Fridays event where the local shops and restaurants stay open late for locals to mix and mingle. Families, in particular, love spending time each season at Lucky Ladd Farm which hosts events that please children and adults alike.

Located just a few miles northeast of Murfreesboro on the edge of Rutherford County, Lascassas is a rural community that lets you forget you’re near a city. With just a post office, a small market, and a handful of churches, peace and quiet is what the residents love.
Family farms that have been around for decades make up much of Lascassas. Residents seeking acreage also love calling the community home.
While close to Murfreesboro and many other areas of Tennessee that offer places to go and people to see, Lascassas offers a much quieter and more rustic lifestyle. You may feel like you’re stepping back in time when driving through the curvy country roads as you see children playing and farmers baling hay. Lascassas is an ideal setting for those seeking a home with beautiful views, untouched by city living.
Bordered by Percy Priest Lake and Hurricane Creek to the north and ending just before Sam Ridley Parkway to the south, La Vergne is convenient to I-24 which has made it a popular location for many industrial and international companies that call Middle Tennessee Home. It’s popular for outdoor enthusiasts as well, being closely located to Veteran’s Memorial Park and Poole Knobs Recreation Area which offers easy access to the lake.
Predominately single-family homes, La Vergne is ideal for couples and families looking to enjoy Rutherford County’s low property taxes and great school system. Newer townhomes are also entering the market.
La Vergne is a tight-knit community that focuses on family and Friday night football. It offers a laid-back atmosphere that is ideal for raising a family. Residents love dining at some of the locally owned restaurants and you can often find locals enjoying a day at the lake or local park.

Smyrna is located centrally in Rutherford County. Settled southeast of Davidson County and just between La Vergne and Murfreesboro, it’s a popular spot for locals looking for affordable, family-friendly neighborhoods outside of bustling Nashville. The city features a quaint and historic downtown area with shops and restaurants, but is also home to many of the chains you’re used to, providing every convenience at your fingertips.

The town’s name is also rooted in the past, changed from Bledsoe’s Lick to Castalian Springs in honor of a life-giving spring from Greek lore.

Goodlettsville sits right on the county lines of Davidson and Sumner Counties. Locals love spending time antique shopping and enjoying the outdoors. Being home to Moss-Wright Park, Goodlettsville is the perfect place to live for a family looking for privacy and simple living, while also being close enough to enjoy the amenities of larger cities when wanted.
Bordered by Old Hickory Lake and Vietnam Veterans Boulevard, Hendersonville sits just a mere 30 minutes to the northeast of downtown Nashville in Sumner County. One thing that is quickly evident is a sense of community. The town hosts several annual events such as a 4th of July fireworks show and a Christmas parade, plus regular concerts, movies in the park, and theatrical productions. Hendersonville has also been home to many of Nashville’s most famous residents, including Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, and Taylor Swift.
Brick single-family homes make up the majority of the market, but newer craftsman style homes and townhomes are becoming more readily available. The neighborhood offers a good mix of mid-priced and luxury homes, attracting a variety of lifestyles.
With a top-ranked school system, plenty of parks and lakefront shoreline, and unique shops and restaurants all less than 20 miles from downtown Nashville, Hendersonville is known as one of Middle Tennessee’s top communities for families. The town hosts several annual events each year and offers a variety of parks with pavilions and sports fields plus a network of greenways for walking and biking. Old Hickory Lake is perfect for fishing, boating, and relaxing, and has 26 miles of shoreline and convenient marinas.
Portland is right underneath the Kentucky state line and at the top of Sumner County. Settled northwest of Trousdale County and just outside of Gallatin, it’s a top choice for families looking to live the rural country life. Portland features many parks for recreational activities, mom and pop shops, and many chain restaurants.

Portland offers easy access to Hendersonville and Gallatin, but also has access to quaint shops and chain restaurants making it a desirable option for small town living. Locals love spending their time enjoying nature or going to local events. Being home to the Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival, Portland is the epitome of close-knit, communal living.
Sitting on the west side of Sumner County (as well as the east side of Robertson County), White House is a growing city along the Interstate 65 corridor. The small-town atmosphere enables a strong sense of community and the local government focuses on enhancing the community’s quality of life.
Single-family homes still dominate the market, but townhomes are beginning to pop up to cater to demographics interested in a lowmaintenance lifestyle.
White House offers a laid-back lifestyle for residents looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of bigger towns. The Sumner County school system is a draw for families, and the growth to the community means more amenities are sure to be on the way.

Westmoreland sits in the northeast corner of Sumner County, near the Kentucky-Tennessee state line and among the rolling hills of the Highland Rim. It sits mid-way between Bowling Green and Nashville, offering a quiet setting with easy access to some of the South’s favorite towns.
The market in Westmoreland is primarily charming single family homes, but many sprawling estates and larger farms are also available.
With a welcoming spirit, the Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce strives to provide residents with plenty to see and do around the community. The town has strong parks and recreational programs, a variety of community outreach programs, a great library, and a community center focused on arts and fitness. The town also boasts a unique dining and shopping district.
Wilson County sits just east of Nashville and is ideally located between two beautiful Middle Tennessee Lakes, offering easy access to the best of Middle Tennessee. The county has grown in recent years thanks to not only its affordability, but also to its friendly business climate.
Though mostly rural, the county is home to two major cities — Mt. Juliet and Lebanon — each with their own personality. For a more suburban feel with easy access to your favorite retail and restaurant options, Mt. Juliet might be a great fit. For more history and small-town charm, Lebanon is also an option. There are many communities within Wilson County with unique characteristics to make you feel at home.
Situated just east of downtown Nashville between Percy Priest and Old Hickory Lakes, Hermitage offers an ideal location for people who love boating and watersports. It neighbors and shares a Chamber of Commerce with Donelson which only expands the community-centric feeling of the neighborhood. The town received its name from President Andrew Jackson’s home, The Hermitage, which is open today for tours.
Homes in Hermitage lean toward the more traditional side, with singlefamily homes dominating the market. One and two-story brick homes are intermingled with the occasional craftsman or French-country style home, bringing variety to the neighborhood.
Hermitage offers a wonderful variety of lifestyle and recreational opportunities that make it a great location to raise a family in. Its proximity to both of Nashville’s major lakes and access to several beautiful parks make the area ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. Many of the area’s restaurants and stores are widely known brands, but as the area grows, more and more unique eateries and boutiques are popping up.
Located less than an hour to the east of downtown Nashville in Wilson County, Lebanon is a sprawling community surrounding a traditional town square. It was incorporated in 1801, making it one of the oldest communities in the state and similar in style to Columbia and Franklin. Many large companies call Lebanon home, including Cracker Barrel and Dell, as well as Cumberland University, a private, four-year college.
Homes in Lebanon vary from sprawling estates perfect for horses or cattle to quaint single-family ranches or cabins in tight-knit neighborhoods. Its proximity to Old Hickory Lake also makes lakeside living an easy reality.
Families residing in Lebanon enjoy a slow pace but lots of options for activities. The town hosts several annual events such as Symphony on the lawn, Sherry’s Run, movies in the park, and the county fair. The square is seeing beautiful revitalization and the plantation homes along Main Street make a great place for a stroll. Cedars of Lebanon and other parks and recreation areas make great places for some fresh air, and the outlet mall draws in locals and non-locals alike.
Located less than 20 miles east of Downtown Nashville in western Wilson County, Mount Juliet sits between two national east-west routes, Interstate 40 and U.S. Route 70, better known as Lebanon Road. Known as an affordable, clean, and prosperous community, Mount Juliet has grown tremendously in recent years, both in terms of the number of residents and in business growth. It is speculated that the town’s name, the only one like it in the United States, pays homage to a manor home of the same name in Kilkenny, Ireland.
The housing market in Mount Juliet has remained affordable like many other Middle Tennessee communities, and there is an abundance of single family homes, many with large lots, available. A few newer townhome communities have popped up as the area has grown, but thanks to the family-friendly lifestyle that Mount Juliet affords, single-family homes dominate the market.
With easy access to both Percy Priest and Old Hickory Lakes, plus a multitude of parks and recreational facilities and shopping and dining destinations, Mount Juliet has nearly endless opportunities to stay active. Providence Marketplace is one of the largest retail locations between Nashville and Knoxville and provides a great place to do some shopping, grab some dinner, and catch a movie.
Located on the eastern edge of Wilson County, Watertown is a small community with a lot of charm. Main Street is being revitalized and is home to many quaint shops and businesses. The town is most known for its Stardust Drive-In which opened when most drive-in theaters were shutting down operation and brings visitors from all over Middle Tennessee.
The rural community is comprised mainly of single-family homes and farms.
The town has a focus on the arts, and thanks to the Tennessee Artist’s Guild and community organizers, is able to host many classes and annual music festivals that keep residents involved. There are also many holiday-themed events and community-centered happenings each year, helping the town to remain close-knit.
