Objective Internships is a great way for me to get hands-on, real-world experience in a professional Design environment. It helps in transformation from “student status” to “professional status.” The opportunity to participate in this practical experience in a design firm is invaluable. Internship is an interesting and challenging opportunity available for me, with varying degrees of technical skills and backgrounds. During curriculum we never get a chance to deal with actual clients and professional market, training period is a best time when we get exposure towards this important aspects of office world. I personally feel that it’s not just one person who do everything, there are many hands behind whole process. And I am really interested in learning, how those hands works together which makes a firm work properly.

Skills Hand skills : Sketching with different mediums, Photography, Model making, Drafting, Rendering Digital skills : Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Sketchup, Autocad 2D, Microsoft Office,

Materials worked with Wood and its byproducts, Metal, Cane - Bamboo, MDF, Brick, Plastic, Thermocol, P.O.P

Academic Involvement In foundation year, i have learnt activity mapping and how basic zoning can be done. Further studios helped me in learning how concepts and program can be developed for particular project. When i started dealing with larger scale projects, all my previous learning helped me in materializing many architectural ideas in to a CONCEPTUAL design. Being a hands-on learner, i have taken part in many workshops, which helped me in materializing ideas, working with materials and new techniques. Developing graphics - as medium to communicate, i have learnt different techniques of graphical representation. Public scale projects made me more sensitive towards smaller to larger design decisions.

time line

June 2015 Started studying architecture at LJ school of Architecture

First Semester Learning basic design principles and elements of architecture

Second Semester How to convert thoughts in to spatial composition and volumetric play along with a basic idea of function Third Semester Taking a step ahead by adding materials and textures to those spatial decisions and learning properties of each one Fourth Semester Looking ahead to surrounding and reflecting it in to design along with a first idea towards landscaping Fifth Semester Putting real number of user group, function of a particular place, architecture, site development in to one design along with an idea of structure. Sixth Semester Looking in to real communication part of every project ; converting a design in to working drawing set

Oct 2017 - Mar 2018 Professional work

Working for Swastik Vastu Consultant I was helping our team leader with vastu decisions along with making drawings in software.

content Institutional Studio Designing an Institute for Performing Art such as music, dance and theater by reflecting art through Architecture.

Contextual Studio Designing the center in such a way that it responses with the surrounding and merges with the site.

Material Studio Exploring the material (Brick) and designing an Art Gallery by incorporating an element which talks about concept.

Basic Design ll The studio was focusing on how you can put your dreams in designing a house for yourself

Basic Design l Learning new design principles and sense of composition, proportion, anthropometry and colours.

Related Study Program Learning the architectural style of goa and studing the houses there by doing measuring drawing.

Workshops and Digital Work Learning new softwares to communicate design ideas with more perfection.

Working Drawings Detailing out the construction drawing for an existing project.

Miscellaneous Designs Putting up some scrap together and giving diverse characteristics by composing it.

Scribbled Expression Expressing thoughts and visuals on paper with different mediums.

Photography Capturing the world in a way i see it.

i n stit u ti o n a l st u d i o Program : Designing a Performing Arts Institute and the site location was in Idar, Gujarat. The site had existing contours and a water body in the entrance of the site. The was to inspire the population to persue Performing arts. Designing the institute that goes with the arts like music, dance and theater as a challenge which adds new culture to the town.

Concept : Giving a bold statement within the first glance of the building i.e. the front facade. Giving importance to the three main spaces by playing with volumes and colour. Using of the material which has its own identity and texture i.e the exposed concrete. Providing screening in the south facade in such a way that sunlight gets filtered. Proper air circulation was achieved by number of passages and courtyards. Providing one main movement space which connects other spaces and helps in contextual response. Wooden screen gives a very different characteristic value to facade .

C o ntex t u a l st u d i o

Program : Designing A Center for Environmental Education at Fontainhas, Goa. Concept : Designing the building in such a manner that it merges with the surrounding and also has its own identity. Providing walkable green roofs helps in corresponding the building with the weather conditions of the site. And creating mystrey as only some glimpse of the building is seen.

m a te ri a l st u d i o Program : Designing an art gallery with a reference to material (brick) and climatic condition of the site. The site was located in Bangalore, India. As a program exhibition space was one of the most important design criteria. Along with its workshop spaces, library area, cafe, services, meeting area were part of entire program. Concept : Developing a free plan concept, i lifted two blocks using pilots and created community space below.

Not following typical exhibition idea, i developed moving exhibition. Where all exhibits becomes part of movement spaces. Having an idea of ramp and double height space , exhibition gallery got a new character. Exposed bricks were used to play with facade graphics. Material understanding exercises : Merging a visual composition and material’ properties in to a wall of design : exploring a method of voids and solids. The same was used in building facade.

b a s i c d es i g n l l Program : Desiging a house full of dreams with all basic spaces required. The area given was 100 sqm. The purpose was to design in small area without negotiating the dreams and concept along with understanding the value of each and every spaces. Firstly we were given to design every space individually and understand the basic dimensions required for the layout and circulation. And then we need to combine every space and design a house in which our dreams should be reflected. Even the location of site was selected by us according to the language of the house.

Concept : Concept was to have simple rectangular form which were staggered upon each other. The design started by planning the placement of private and semi-private spaces. Entry was provided at ground level with a view of infinity pool through the glass facade of living room. The bedrooms were provided at the lower level because of privacy. The most interesting part of the dream house was at upper level, a football arena was provided covered with glass from all four sides.

b a s i c d es i g n l Basic design was coverd in 1st semester so we learnt some basic design principles, sense of composition through multiple exercises in which we were supposed to compose different shapes of different size and colour. Some new terminologies were introduced such as tesilation and architectural elements. We also learnt about proportion and scale through composition of cuboids.

Architectural Park Play of different architectural elements and creating interesting spaces and graphics.

Program : To design a bus stop with no criterias given , so there was freedom of using any material and principle. Concept : The concept was interlocking of planes. Anthopometry was the major factor which must be concidered throughly. Interlocking of planes helped in deriving a stable and interesting structure.

R e l a te d st u d y p ro g ra m STUDY PROGRAM AT FONTAINS, GOA Measure drawing of different houses helped us in understanding GOAN style of architecture, which allowed us to look in to their culture and life style. Colorful houses, ornamented door- windows were the highlights.

Measure drawing of individual spaces helped us in understanding how different architectural elements comes together to make one space. Different motives, patterns and details were the most interesting part of our study.

wo r ks h o p a n d d i g ita l wo r k Different workshops : Being a student of design it is very important to know different materials and their properties, i strongly believe that one can not design its best unless and until he/she doesn’t know about it. To understand them in details we have developed different structures using metal, bamboo on tensegrity.

sketch up: Generating spatial views of the spaces and assigning different materials to the staircase. Generating conceptual models in sketch up was a good way to explore the overall spatial experience of the space. One can experiment with different models using sketch up as its possible to create n number of possibilities with it.

2D and 3D compositions : It is very important to develop an understanding towards proportions and an eye towards visual + spatial compositions. Some exercises on my own helped me developing the same ideas... A frame and point structure system, balance in elements, method of intersection, colours - proportions etc...

Many times developing something without a concept or function in mind leads to beautiful spatial composition, which helps in understanding different expressions in architecture. This method of development helped me throwing all possible ideas in to a 2D/3D composition... thinking out of box !

S c ri b b l e d ex p re s s i o n

Sketching and colour workshop Using poster, acrylic and water based mediums to explore different techniques, it allowed me to express ‘ how i see things‘. Also it allowed me to translate imagined designs on paper.

p h oto g ra p hy

Trying to capture interesting frames, visual composition, human emotions and expressions, shades of nature and many more through lens. It developed an eye to see architecture and nature other way round. Capturing colours and culture of different cities interested me the most.

b e l i ef

Architecture to me is about taking a stand and creating something extraordinary which helps in upgrading life styles of the user group and not only be a built form.
