Creating, visualizing and observing has always fascinated me since my childhood joining architecture has given me a new dimension to think, has given a freedom to explore and understand the close relation between the human behavior, the human experience and the connectivity of the space, and how these architectural volumes speak for themselves and define them. This architectural journey still urges me to explore and create more.

COHESIVE GROUNDSCAPES Ravenna, Italy (Year, 2020) Politecnico Di Milano, Italy
The site along the coastal planes of Ravenna, where we are proposing our intervention for 2100 has undergone drastic changes, over the many years, both natural, and recently anthropological. The site was interesting for its fragility and its dynamic interaction between the terra firma and shifting dunes. The Pineta planted during the roman Era as a natural barrier from the wind to protect the agricultural plains, stretched throughout the east coast, forming a stable landscape. Over the years, the coast has lost, this cohesive system, and what remains are fragmented landscapes An integral part of our site is the Ortazzo a fresh water source formed between the terra firma and the two rivers, Fosso Ghiaia and Bevano River The Ortazzo is also a valuable ecosystem for the many flora and fauna which inhabit it, including species of migratory birds. We started our design approach, by analyzing and categorizing the risks faced by this land, and adopting strategies to counter it. Hence the design is a proposal to adopt to a resilient coastal landscape and adapt to climate change, sea level rise, and hypothetical anthropological actions. It is an exercise in understanding the many habitats of the region its coexistence, and relation to water, in order to understand the ideal design approach in a future scenario.
Site Analysis Based on Hypothesis 2100 Condition
Natural barrier Water breaker will decrease the erosion and create new habitat
Pine forest extension The existing pines will be protected and there will be new plantations
Floating fields a new economy will be dictated by the hemp

In the year 2100 the coastal landscapes of Ravenna will experience drastic changes Fluctuations which cannot be apprehended Our intensive studies in understanding the coastal habitat, and predicting the outcome, of technology, life style, transport, climate, and geology, guided us in formulating a synergic, and resilient landscape Through this project we understood the manifold relationships in nature, water and land, terra firma and Shifting dunes, How this variations in soil also manifests as the various flora and Fauna, for us to perceive After understanding this concept we tried to take a wholistic approach, in order to create a stable ecosystem, with a possibility to extend beyond As a hypothetic approach we relied on predicted technological advancement, in various part of our project from agriculture, transport to architecture We were also aware of the impact on Social, Cultural and Economical situations of the era We tried to culturally inform our design by drawing parallels between the floating fields proposed, and the mosaics of Ravenna The architectural interventions were also informed in terms of proportions from the heritage buildings of Ravenna Economically we propose cultivation of hemp and its integrated industries in this new landscape which would sustain the region economically and socially We believe that through this design process we have arrived at suggesting a delicate design intervention, which would help in adapting to this new coastal landscape.

LIFE BETWEEN THE BRIDGES Piacenza, Italy (Year, 2019) Politecnico Di Milano, Italy
The urban regeneration project is based along the riverfront in the North of the city of Piacenza. The site has a strong significance to the city as it is an interface between its urban and natural landscapes. It displays a variety flora and fauna including some rare migratory bird species and traces of different activities–both dismissed and ongoing in its natural, semi-open and built systems. The area characterized by a diversity of urban elements and situations houses sport facilities, abandoned structures, a heritage power plant, a working power plant, an industrial heritage complex (the Finarda reclamation waterworks), canal and lock with the old jetties, a water tank etc. The site sequentially reveals its changing character manifested through architecture and nature existing in different layers of time as one moves along the via Nino Bixio which anchors all the different activities along its length. The relation between the existing movement corridors and river varying through presence of built elements like paths, arcades, pillars, bridges, buildings etcetera instigates different interactions with the nature and river. Thus there is a huge potential to regenerate it as a link that connects the people to nature especially the Po river which is the most important natural heritage element.
M- Design Strategies Connecting the System
1. Extending the existing poplar avenue along the riverfront to provide shade for hosting picnic activities.
4. Development of the existing junction into a public plaza cum open air theatre connecting all the proposed activities on site
2. Extending the existing sports infrastructure under the bridge, taking advantage of the shaded semi-open space for new sports and public facilities.
5. Creation of a soft axis using vegetation connecting the important landmarks on site i.e., foundation of the old bridge and water tank and pointing to Torrione Fodesta,
3. Adaptive reuse of abandoned buildings on site to host restaurants, cafes and other recreational activities, acting as a link between the proposed areas for sports and picnic.
M- Master Plan
The design connects the site to the system and all the functions within by revitalizing the via nino bixio as a central spine hosting and revealing the diversity of functions and characters sequentially.
6. Extending the axis to the opposite river bank as a symbolism of the site being the historic main access to Piacenza from North.

Design Aim •
To revitalize the Po riverfront to its full potential through design interventions aimed at reviving the tangible and intangible aspects of natural and cultural heritage of the precinct.
•
To regenerate the Po riverfront precinct as a multi-functional and interactive public space that can host diverse activities. To allow for sequential revelation of the varied characters along the riverfront by redesigning the road along the dyke (via Nino Bixio) as a central spine anchoring diverse activities, open spaces and built environments existing in different layers of time. To connect the city to its natural heritage and the cultural assets associated with it through improving the existing accessibility as well as opening up new connections. To regenerate the space between the bridges as the focus of the scheme through adaptive reuse of abandoned structures and re-design of public open spaces, with a special attention to area under the bridges’ arcades and open spaces under motorway.

Conclusion
The project revolves around the regeneration of landscape at Po river front which is currently been underused. Developing public spaces that can host diverse activities which could be connected to the central spin (Nano-Bixo). Also keeping in mind city’s natural and cultural heritage we re-adapted the abandoned structures without effecting the carbon footprint. Designing the under-bridge spaces in such a way that it could also bring life to the city.

REVIVING TINGUA
Tingua, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (Year, 2018) Politecnico Di Milano, Italy
Tinguá is a village of the Tinguá regional government unit in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The neighborhood is essentially rural in nature and has several non-governmental entities and organizations related to ecology and environmental protection due to the existence of the Tinguá Federal Biological Reserve, which maintains part of the Atlantic Forest . Taking advantage of neighborhood communities, create sustainable settlements which act as a model and perform as counteraction to the urban growth spreading towards north of Rio De Janeiro. Potential of rich bio-diversity, water resource and agricultural practices are the advantages to generate alternative revenues. In order to steward and propose a sustainable productive gate way for the Biological Reserve located in the northern zone of Tingua, create an identity for Tingua by improving the complete potential of the existing bio-reserve and to create a community resilience with the resources and stabilizing their livelihoods. Thus proposing Eco-tourism, Agri-tourism and Community development the Agenda is to eradicate loss of natural resources and poverty and achieve sustainable development for the region of Tingua.

Conclusion ‘Tingua’ - An Eco-Village In the outskirts of Rio, ‘Tingua’ a small village where this project is been conceptualized is inhabited. The ‘River’ & ‘Bio reserve’ were in deprived conditions. People residing there had no proper stops for basic needs. Not even proper housing system to dwell in. ‘Reviving Tingua’ a proposal which caters everything required for overall development of the local community. It aims for the upliftment of the village in whole. By proposing a green network near the River, not only gave river a new identity but it also became a common green space for the community. The new community housing uplifts the lifestyle of the local community who once reside in informal settlements. This project aims to revive lost identity of the place by not only improving it on urban scale but also serving it as a model for small settlements growing around.

ABHYUDAY : TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE Girnara Village, Valsad, Gujarat, India (Year, 2016) APIED, Sardar Patel University, India
This dissertation deals with designing an Educational center for the children of the Girnara village & its surrounding area with community gathering spaces to enhance their skills and support socio-cultural aspects of their living. So that the overall development of the village takes place and the tribal community doesn’t feel neglected. It emphasizes on analysis of the local architectural style of the community and the day to day activities. The tribes living in this region have many skills on handmade wooden-bamboo things, warli art, building construction with available resources etc. Lack of basic infrastructure facilities which fail to serve basic needs of the community like water and because of that rate of seasonal migration for earning is high. Children from remote villages have to migrate for studies. The existing facilities have no emphasis on skill development to broaden their career in different fields, they face problems of irregularity of teaching staff and also less maintained. Because of migration and lack of secondary and higher secondary school facilities the graduation rate of these pupils is very low.
• • •
Girnara Village
To create and promote sustainable, healthy and educative • environment for the tribal children, preserve tribal art & culture and conserve natural resources of the region. • • Objectives • To synthesize study of socio-cultural aspects of community, local • tribal architecture and trends in tribal schooling. • To create/design a facility where children from nearby tribal settlement or villages can stay, get education, and develop skills. • To produce a design model which inspires villagers in conserving natural resources of this Taluka and works as a center or hub which is helpful in keeping alive their art and culture.
Girnara (Tehsil -Kaprada, District - Valsad) is the place where there is 100% tribal population. The population of the village is 3084 as per latest census. Literacy rate of Girnara village is 39.34 % compared to 78.03 % of Gujarat. The tribal society here is economically extremely backward. Village is formed by 12 falias (Kabilas - people stays in clusters) This is self sustained community - as they are less dependant upon the market and uses self made things. People staying here are mainly farmers and laborers.

Analytical Conclusion • • • • • • • •
Less numbers of schools in the region. Thus children have to migrate to nearby towns for studies. Religious places work as gathering space and space for festival celebration in the Faliyas. The tribes living in this region have many skills on handmade wooden-bamboo things, warli art, building construction with available resources etc. Lack of basic infrastructure facilities which fail to serve basic needs of community like water and because of that rate of seasonal migration for earning is high. Local Ashramshala faces problems of irregularity of teaching staff and also less maintained. There is only one Adarsh Nivashi School and one EMRS in the whole Valsad District. Thus children from remote villages have to migrate for studies. These three schooling facilities have no emphasis on skill development to broaden their scope of career in different fields. Because of migration and lack of secondary and higher secondary school facilities the graduation rate of these pupils has decreased. 26
Climate •
Kaprada is the place which has second highest rainfall in Gujarat after Dang. Ironically the area regularly faces problem of potable water. They have made step farms and use the water runoff land for farming as it all dried up in summer. The climate here is tropical. The monsoons here have a good deal of rainfall, while the winters have very little. In Valsad, the average annual temperature is 26.9 °C. About 1963 mm of precipitation falls annually. The driest month is January, with 0 mm of rain. Most of the precipitation here falls in July, averaging 778 mm.

Conclusion
India is a land of multitudinous culture & people. Gujarat too has its share of Adivasi tribes. ‘Girnara’ where the present project has been conceptualized is inhabited by various tribes who still live in deprived conditions. The only way to support this society is by overall upliftment which includes in addition to formal education; skill development, conservation of indigenous art & culture and sustainable use of natural resources.
‘Abhyuday’ envisage a centre which caters everything required for overall development of the local community. It aims at providing a healthy, sustainable & educative environment for tribal children and local youth.
The institute is designed to match the local architecture and constructed with local materials - still not deviating from the concepts of contemporary architecture.
Thorough study of local people and their culture was done with architectural perspective. Inhabitants and ‘authorities’ were interviewed to find out needs and requirement of the area. Similar projects from different geographical areas and varied demands were studied to understand & use the contemporary architectural concepts for their possible inclusion in my project.
The project encompasses multiple objectives, holds lot of scope for future development and detailing.
I am sure this architecture would be a model structure for multipurpose ashramshalas for tribes in India.

MANDAWA HERITAGE STREET DOCUMENTATION Mandawa, Rajasthan, India (Year, 2013) APIED, Sardar Patel University, India
Mandawa is a town in Jhunjhunu District of Rajasthan in India. It Is part of Shekhawati region. Mandawa is situated 190 km off Jaipur in the north. Mandawa, a place to live and sense the Architecture of India. As a part of our contextual studio my class went to this UNESCO site for documentation old Havelis and Street. We not only completed our heritage documentation wrok but also won National Prize as Second place in Economic Times Heritage Documentation competition 2014. Most of the havelis are 300 years old and belong to rich merchants who traded across borders. The art and carvings depict the royal and rich nature of the traders and the finesse of the artists of that era. Every haveli has its own painting depiction. The owners still live in some of them, and the rest are taken care of by local caretakers. Of late, there has been a renewed interest in the hidden artwork of this region and the value in restoring them. Due to a rise in tourism potential, some of the havelis have been converted into heritage hotels while others have been opened to the public as museums.

PRAKASH BAROT RESIDENCE Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (Year, 2018) Freelance Architect
As a Freelance Architect, I completed a villa for a family of Mr. Prakash Barot. During the project, I produced the design drawings, working drawings and also complete site handling and execution of the design. Design evolves on the basis of local climate as well as the orientation of built and open. Central corridor acts as a spine to connect different functional requirements. Ground floor consists of various family living areas including the courtyard which connects indoor spaces through it. Double height spaces adds volumetric experience to the transition. Private spaces including bedrooms and study area are placed on the first floor with huge balconies interacting with landscape.
