Agroforestry “Food Security – Conflict Transformation – Global Warming Mitigation” June 30, 2011 Feedback Report on Agroforestry Project Implementation at Pilot areas of Sitio Biao, Barangay Napnapon and Barangay Wal Palimbang Sultan Kudarat For: Mr. Wahab I. Ty Admin/Finance Officer Agroforestry Concept Intercropping rubber trees with upland System of Rice Intensification (bulaw rice), System of Corn Intensification, and possibly fruit trees, cash crops such as cacao, coffee, peanuts, sweet potatoe, cassava, and others. Phase 1 starts with 1 hectare Pilot / Experiment Project in Brgy. Napnapon Sitio Biao and Brgy.Wal for production, and urgently need Hevea Budding Nursery to be install/established in the pilot project area for the accessibility of massive implementation of production or for the future expansion. The Sharing Policy/ Contract Policy of this proposed hevea budding nursery will further discuss/plan by PASALI. Proposed Agreement 1. Develop Memorandum Of Agreement ( MOA ) / Contract 2. Sharing Policy / Contract Policy Main Crop Rubber , Fruit Trees & Tree Crops & Shrubs (cacao,coffee) Land Owner = 40% Share Cooperative = 30% Share Agroforestry Technical Team = 30% Share Total = 100% Grain Crops ( Upland “SRI” Bulaw Rice & “SCI” Traditional Corn, Fast Crops & Root Crops) The Cooperative will provide the Seeds.

After 2 days of hauling, 97 pieces of of hevea budding reached in the project area on June 20. On June 22, 2011 we transplanted the 97 pcs. of hevea buddings at Pampangi to be managed and maintained by the Mimakao Cooperative. Recipient/Proponent: Mimakao Multi-Purpose Cooperatives Activities: - 1 hectare planting for experiment/model farm located at sitio biao brgy. Napnapon Palimbang Sultan Kudarat - Hevea Buddings/Rubber Seedling transportation from Brgy. Kalaong, Maitum Sarangani Province to Brgy. Milbuk and Brgy. Wal Palimbang Sultan Kudarat on June 20, 2011 via chartered Elf/Truck.

June 20, 2011 HAULING Only 97 pieces of 400 hevea buddings or rubber seedlings were hauled by the cooperative on horses over 14 kilometers from barangay Milbuk to Sitio Biao of barangay Napnapon, the home of the Indigenous People Community of the Manobo tribe. June 21, 2011 TRAVEL FACILITATORS At 8:35 hours PASALI staff Teng and Imam Salem Guibel proceeded to the project site in Sitio Biao hiking and horse riding and met contact person Junjun Pancobilla on the way. At 3:21 hours they arrived after 6 hours of travel. June 22, 2011 COMMUNITY PREPARATION AND PLANTING Preparation, orientation, lay – out, and transplanting: participated by 3 cooperatives and Agroforestry Technical Team in a total attendance of 36 + 9 OSY: Mimakao Cooperative = 25 members ( 21 men & 4 women ) Pampangi Cooperative = 6 members ( 4 men & 2 women ) Kaluplop Cooperative = 2 members Agroforestry Technical Team = 3 facilitators With IP’s Children Participation = 9 OSY Hauling of hevea budding/rubber seedling from the identified storage area and walking distance more or less 600 meters to model farm/ project site, the essence and spirit of voluntarism from the household tri – people of their four ( 4 ) organized cooperatives are tangible, and in the special participation/support of young IP’s generation the out of school youth “ OSY “ are applicable.

June 26, 2011 PREPARATION Schedule of transplanting participated by 14 coop members and 3 agroforestry technical team (Teng , Usop & Imam Salem ). Buffalo ( carabao ) pulled cariton loaded with 120 pcs.hevea budding walking distance of estimated 2 km from national highway to the hillside model farm/pilot project area.

The 2 hectare identified pilot project area for Agroforestry are located in Sitio Biao, Brgy. Napnapon 1 hectare and Brgy. Wal 1 hectare , each brgy has also proposed thier own nursery site accessible to the area of expansion. Note: MOA,Sharing Policy/Contract Policy same as stated above and except the Nursery at brgy. Wal . The proposed nursery site is 200 meters away from National Highway estimated area 17,500 square meters.
