VINTAGE PASO Grow Wild with the spirit of Paso Robles Wine Country in celebration of Vintage Paso Weekend, the third weekend in March. This festival weekend recognizes the diversity of the Paso Robles Wine Region and the more than 40 different winegrape varieties grown. More than 130 wineries offer special tastings, live music, winemaker dinners, and other unique events to welcome the beginning of the next vintage.
WINE FESTIVAL Join us each May for our annual Wine Festival – a celebration of the innovation, triumphs, and character of this spectacular region. This May celebration of everything Paso Robles began in 1983 when the Paso Robles American Viticultural Area (AVA) was first designated. The AVA’s first 17 wineries laid wood planks over barrels in the Downtown Park and poured wines for all in attendance throughout a Saturday afternoon. The festival is now 32-years old, one of the largest outdoor wine festivals in California, and features more than 60 of the region’s finest wineries. Along with world class wines, seminars, great food, and local music, guests enjoy Thursday night winemaker dinners and the Friday evening RESERVE event and auction. More than 130 wineries host individual events over the four days, further accentuating the fun to be had during a celebration weekend in Paso Robles.
HARVEST WINE WEEKEND Paso Robles Wine Country Harvest Wine Weekend celebrates the annual wine grape harvest. Harvest is the busiest time in wine country, when visitors can learn about harvest practices, try new vintages and see what happens when wine country kicks it into high gear for harvest. Every year, on the third weekend in October, Paso Robles wineries hold winemaker dinners, exclusive barrel samples, seminars, barbecues, live music, winery tours and even some grape stomping. Come get a taste of harvest and celebrate the new vintage.

SUSTAINABLE WINEGROWING As stewards of the land, Paso Robles vineyards and wineries continually strive to be sustainable. The wine industry cultivates sustainable practices on local, state and federal levels. Many of our vineyards and wineries are certified sustainable, as noted on the back of the map by the icon, as part of two highly reputable organizations: SIP Certification for sustainably farmed vineyards and wines is a certification you can trust. The comprehensive farming rules for SIP protect the whole farm - habitat, people, water, energy, soils, biodiversity, business. Farming practices are verified through in-depth audits by independent, accredited inspectors ensuring that growers meet the highest level of sustainable performance. Drink SIP Certified sustainable wines and support companies that protect the environment and their workers. Learn more at www.SIPcertified.org

TRUTH-IN-LABELING Each bottle of Paso Robles wine showcases the unique characteristics of our region, influenced by our topography, temperature swings, calcareous soil, proximity to the Pacific Ocean, as well as our growers and winemakers. In Paso Robles, we aren’t trying to be like any other wine region—WE ARE PROUDLY PASO! For that reason, the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance signed the Joint Declaration to Protect Wine Place Names & Origin, joining 19 world renowned wine regions, including: Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Chianti Classico, Napa Valley, Oregon, Porto, Rioja, Sonoma County, Washington State, etc. This Declaration affirms that what is on the label should be what is in the bottle. So, Champagne is only made in the Champagne region of France. Port can only come from Porto, Portugal. And Paso Robles is only from the Central Coast of California. So you like wine. You drink it. You think about it. And sometimes you can’t pronounce it. No matter. Here, there are no rules. Good wine is about great stories. And great stories are told the day after. Here, daring and traditional meet, and independence is ignited. Here, there is no should or shouldn’t; no do or do not. There’s only try. Because variety rules and tame is lame.
This is the place to Grow Wild.
