AIR
The Indoor air quality is a main prerequisite for health and well-being of all. Carelessness of aeraulic systems are due to microbial transport and thus of infections diseases, such as Legionella, SARS and meningitis. The programming of the cleaning and sanitation of equipment ensures indoor air quality and multiple benefits in terms of efficiency and energy savings.

AIR Sanitization of aeraulic systems prevents serious health risks, and it is a legal requirement that gives responsibility for health in the workplace to the employer.
The microbial transport occurs through inhalation, seriously endangering the health of those who live and works in environments with controlled ventilation. Main biological risks in the environments:
Legionella, SARS, Meningitis or Irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract. MAIN REGULATIONS IN FORCE IN ITALY AND CE
• Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 ex 626/94 gave a significant turning point, treating the material in a specific, detailed, inserting it between those measures that the employer must take to safeguard the health of its employees in the workplace (protecting them from mold and legionella). Directive 2000/54/EC - biological agents at work of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 September 2000 on the protection of workers from risks related to exposure to biological agents at work (seventh individual directive within the meaning of Article 16(1) of Directive 89/391/EEC). • The European Guidelines for Control and Prevention of Travel Associated Legionnaires’ Disease. Although the page focuses on travel associated Legionnaires’ disease, there are valuable documents that can be used in prevention of risk at work. The guidelines outline a standard approach to control and prevention of travel associated Legionnaires’ disease across all European countries. • There are Supplements with occupational health and safety aspects: • Technical Guidelines for the Control and Prevention of Legionella in Water Systems includes detailed information on type of risk system and their design and contruction, operation, maintenance, treatment, cleaning and disinfection, biocides and the protection of associated personnel. • Treatment methods for cooling systems, hot and cold water systems and spa pools.

Inside of air conditioning systems is deposited dust particulate, which is found in the wild pathogenic bacterial forms, such as micro-organisms and bacteria. In such environments the bacteria found food and shelter by environmental conditions that otherwise would be able to kill or inhibit the free-living forms. The routine maintenance of the air duct systems (change of air lter in UTA, split, francoil, etc ..) often is not enough to effectively counter the proliferation of chemical and biological contaminants.
MOST FREQUENT RISKS The deterioration of air quality in the indoors (hospitals, offices, industrial premises, etc.) Is due to the levels of outdoor pollution and numerous internal sources. The set of these elements determines the concentrations of pollutants such as: volatile organic compounds, nitrogen dioxides, carbon oxides, formaldehyde, radon, allergenic microorganisms, in quantities even higher than outside. Legionella is a biological pathogen that can cause bacterial pneumonia in humans that, in high percentages, has a fatal outcome. This bacterium is widespread in nature, the organism can spread easily in artificial humid environments (drinking water distribution supplies, water systems of individual buildings, air-conditioning systems, swimming pools etc.) which may facilitate the amplification and spread. Prefers warm aquatic habitats, between 25 and 42 ° C, but is able to survive in a very large ditemperatura range (between 5.7° and 63.0°C) with pH values between 5.5 and 8.1. The bacteria can penetrate into the host through the respiratory tract by inhalation of contaminated air; reached the lungs, the bacteria are engulfed by alveolar macrophages, but are not able to kill or inhibit the growth: Legionella can, in fact, to avoid their microbicides mechanisms and multiplies no to cause its lysis with the consequent release of progeny bacteria capable of infecting other cells. Legionella infections are considered an emerging problem in public health, so that they are subject to special surveillance by the World Health Organization, the European Community and the Italian Higher Health Institute. WATER
The lack of a proper maintenance of water supply determines a microbial water pollution that can become a vehicle for pathogenic microorganisms such as Pseudomonas, Enterococcus and Legionella. The adoption of sanitizing ensures prevention programs through an innovative approach to water resources and the safeguard of health HICLEAN works following the guidelines for assessing and managing risk in the supply chain of the drinking water in accordance with the Water Safety Plan - WPS - and in accordance with applicable regulations of the Guidelines for the prevention and control of Legionellosis.

WATER The most effective means of consistently ensuring the safety of a water system is through the use of an approach for evaluation and global risk management encompassing all phases of the water supply chain from catchment to the consumer with the primary objective to protect human health. The microbial transport occurs by ingestion and inhalation dell’aereosol, seriously endangering the health of those who live and works in environments enslaved by contaminated water networks. The main water biological hazards are:
Enterococcus, Pseudomonas, Legionella; Vibrio, Enterovirus; Nematodes and Protozoa. In addition there may be chemical and physical contamination. Regulations in force in Italy The management of water resource, toghether with the Italian Legislative Decrete 81/08; the employer has to adopt in order to safeguard the health of its employers in the workplace is regulated by the Italian Legislative Decrete 31/2001. This Decrete indicates the limits of microbiological, chemical and physical parameters. In addition, the Guidelines for Water Safety Plan, an integral part of the European Directive 2015/1787 on the quality of water intended for human consumption, and Italian Guidelines for control of legionellosis, give indications on risk management in the water supply chain which are involved to the human fruitintion. Furthermore, for buildings and facilities in which water is provided to the community, the employers and the supervisors of the building or facility management have to ensure that the parameter values would be kept at the point where water leaks out from the tap. • Italian Legislative Decrete , 2th february 2001, n.31 - Implementation of the European Directive 2015/1787 related to the water intended for human consumption. • The 2015 State-Regions agreements “Guidelines for the preventions and the management of legionella” which are provided to the employer how to realize an Analysis, Management and a Risk Communication. • Italian Higher Health Institute ISTISAN Report 14/21 (2015) - Guidelines for the Risk Management in water supply chain related to the human consumption according to Water Safety Plan model.

The World Health Organization states that the most effective means for constantly ensuring the safety of a water system is through the use of an approach of the global risk assessment and management that includes all stages of the chain from water uptake to the consumer. This approach, known as WPS - Water Safety Plans. The scientific approach based PSA is the risk analysis with the primary objective of protecting human health.
Water Safety Plan The application of a WPS redefines the limits of the control systems of the quality of water intended for human consumption, up to now marked by a surveillance segments of the limited uptake cycle-treatment-distribution-user and / or a sample monitoring on distributed water. As has occurred in other areas, such as pharmaceuticals and food industry, the evolution of knowledge of risk analysis it has indeed defined the strategies critical solely focused on the verification of conformity of the finished product, a significant shift in the ‘interest in the realization of a comprehensive risk assessment and management system extended to the entire water supply chain from catchment to the point of end use. This approach also allows the flexibility to risk management for water supply in security in vulnerable scenarios also associated with extreme weather events and/or in the case of emerging contaminated.
Microbial contamination and biofilm in water supplies The contamination of water systems is very frequent, and the adoption of storage systems and filtration, and the nature of these systems, can be a vehicle of contamination and microbial growth substrate. Inside the plants, when poorly managed, settle and proliferate bacteria, algae and molds, often thickening into a gelatinous mass “biofilms” that complex aggregation of microorganisms, characterized by the secretion of a protective and adhesive matrix, the surface adhesion, from the structural heterogeneity with complex biological interactions, and by an extracellular matrix of polymeric substances, often of polysaccharide type.
