Message from the Superintendent

Welcome to the A-rated School District of Palm Beach County!

Our 187 District-operated schools offer rigorous academic programs taught by well-credentialed, certified teachers, including International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and Cambridge AICE programs that help prepare students for higher education. The District is committed to serving our students and our community by aligning what we teach with local and global workforce needs.

We offer more than 300 Choice and Career programs in elementary, middle, and high schools to provide opportunities for students to discover their talents and explore their interests, while focusing on academics. Exceptional Student Education services are available at all public school sites throughout the District.

Whether it’s Friday night football or individual team sports, all students have access to comprehensive athletic offerings and a wide array of extracurricular activities, for a well-rounded educational experience.

Families are welcomed to a safe, inclusive environment and are introduced to school leaders committed to our mission to Educate, Affirm, and Inspire their children.

Graduates from the Class of 2023 were accepted to Ivy League schools, U.S. Military academies, and other prestigious universities across the state and country. Some chose to serve their country in the Armed Forces, and others will join the workforce with apprenticeships and in-demand jobs, leveraging skills and industry certifications earned in our schools. In Palm Beach County, we strive for students to graduate college- and career-ready.

We also provide career programs for adult learners through Adult and Community Education programs offered at 34 locations throughout Palm Beach County.

School safety is a fundamental priority. School District Police create and maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for our students and staff, while serving the greater needs of the community by working in partnership with our schools and other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. School Police also work in collaboration with behavioral and mental health professionals to serve students on our school campuses.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Burke
