Announce Historic New Projects

In a combined hole-in-one for pro golfers, fans and Palm Beach State College (PBSC), the university recently announced a historic partnership with TMRW Sports, an innovative company that is reimagining the game of golf. TMRW, which was cofounded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and sports executive Mike McCarley, gifted $1 million to PBSC for the construction of a 135,000-square-foot venue for its new venture, TGL, an indoor golf league incorporating state-of-the-art technology. At the time of this writing, 11 golf professionals, including Woods, Collin Morikawa and Justin Rose, have signed on to compete in TGL’s inaugural season, which begins in January 2024.

In early 2023, sports commentator Erin Andrews hosted a celebration on campus to announce the partnership. Invited luminaries, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, sung the praises of PBSC, whose academics will be positively impacted by the merger. The funding to create the TGL venue will be tied to new curricula, and ultimately careers, that students may have never considered. The news happens to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the opening of PBSC.

“As the future home of the interactive, indoor tech golf league being developed by TMRW Sports in conjunction with the PGA TOUR, we are going to become associated with this amazing brand not only for the next generation of sports but also as a go-to institution that prepares students for emerging technologies transforming every aspect of our society,’’ said PBSC President Ava L.
