INSIDE
the Health and Human Services Committee
DURING A YEAR WHEN HEALTH CARE was front and center on the minds of almost every American, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches’ Health and Human Services Committee continued to keep Chamber members informed on the latest developments in medicine and wellness, on the local and statewide fronts.
Whether virtual or in-person, the Committee’s meetings on the second Tuesday of each month have become a way for members to network, and for leaders in the health care industry in Palm Beach County to share vital information about organizations and initiatives.

“Health care is a huge industry that will always be needed, so the Chamber thought it was important to have a committee where members could come together to learn more about what is happening within Palm Beach County in the health care industry,” said Kirby Davis, membership services and events coordinator at the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. “The Chamber provides educational speakers to present timely topics to keep the members up-to-date on what is happening in the community.” The Committee’s guest speakers have even led virtual tours, which included, over the past year, a look inside the Hospital for Special Surgery, a stateof-the-art facility in West Palm Beach ranked No. 1 in orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report. A special “care panel” during the pandemic included representatives from CareerSource, FoundCare and Community Partners of South Florida, all of whom addressed ways for Chamber members to give back during this period of economic uncertainty—from helping someone find a job to steering them toward affordable health care and housing. The Health and Human Services Committee involves all health care providers, non-profit organizations, and hospitals that are active members of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. The committee typically meets between noon and 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, and lunch is included for in-person meetings. You may register for all Health & Human Services Committee meetings by visiting the Chamber Event Calendar at business.palmbeaches.org/events/ calendar.
