Since its beginnings in 1983, the University Galleries has been an innovator in South Florida’s contemporary visual arts, presenting exhibitions of local, national and international art in new genres as well as traditional forms. When it was completed in 1902, the New York Herald proclaimed that Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach, was “more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world.” Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Flagler Museum, offering self-guided tours, changing exhibitions and special programs.

The Norton Museum of Art is one of the Southeast’s premier art museums and is known for the quality and depth of its extensive collections of photography, and American, contemporary, Chinese and European art, as well as its innovative educational programming. In 2019, the Norton completed a bold, visionary museum expansion. The transformed museum features 12,000 square feet of new gallery space; a state-of-the art, 210-seat auditorium; a new store and restaurant; and a Great Hall serving as the Museum’s “living room.” The expansion also includes a lawn for outdoor programming, or relaxing, and a sculpture garden.
