Wedding planning is one thing. Redesigning a venue into an environment from another time and place is another matter, one that involves creativity and invention in both the overall vision and the tiniest details. This is the kind of service in which Gerilyn Gianna Event Design and Transformation specializes. Named after its founder, an Italianraised cosmopolitan whose love for weddings extends to her childhood observing lavish ceremonies outside the St. Georges Church, Gerilyn Gianna aims to bring a singular grandeur to its clients. For one wedding, the company installed a dozen 16-foot oak trees to simulate Central Park. We asked David Kosberg, Gerilyn Gianna’s business and marketing director, about other unique designs his company has created, along with industry trends. “A couple desired a baroque medieval wedding, so we designed a transformation where we brought their indoor wedding ‘outside.’ We transformed the reception space into a forest in medieval times outside a castle, complete with moonlight, stars, trees, a flowing wishing well pond
and floating crystal candelabras above everyone’s head.” “We’ve seen things change over the course of 15 to 20 years. The biggest change is technology and how it has affected the planning and production of events. Clients have more ideas and options at the swipe of an app or click of a button. And honestly, it has made the industry better. Our presentations to brides look better than ever. Gone are the days where you’d plan a wedding in over a year’s time frame. Now, we get hired for large jobs two to three months in advance—all due to technology.” “For some time now, DIY, southern, and boho-style events have been all the rage. Yet lately, some of this has been changing. What is swinging rapidly back into style is what we’ve stuck with since we started: elegant, classic, and timeless designs, which are not to be confused with traditional weddings and events. I mean simple, elegant colors that never go out of style, like champagnes, blushes, whites, peaches and greens—something that you can look back on at your 20th anniversary and will still be relevant.” Photos by: Gerilyn Gianna Events

Dreamday Weddings 561.207.2388 dreamdaycelebrations.com West Palm Beach wedding designer Christine Terazakis has had plenty of opportunities to show off her creativity through her boutique company, Dreamday Weddings. Like the time a bride and groom came to her with polarizing design requests, she for a vintage glam look, and he for a clubby South Beach vibe. So Terezakis rented a historical mansion and made it work, satisfying both requests with crystal chandeliers and candelabras, lush floral décor with white ostrich feather accents, black and white damask linens, a modern custom bar, an intimate dance area, white leather lounge seating and glowing modular tables. A detail-oriented designer who hasn’t met a challenge she hasn’t embraced, Terezakis is one of just 76 Master Wedding Planners—an honor bestowed by the Association of Bridal Consultants— in the world, and is “a big believer in celebrating life’s happy moments.” “Wedding couples are looking for a designer that will truly listen to them and understand what they want their wedding day to be. I don’t just ask what they want their wedding to look like. I ask what they want their wedding to feel like. They want an atmosphere that expresses their distinct personality and style. They definitely do not want a cookie-cutter wedding.” “Greenery is prevalent in a lot of wedding design. It’s used as garlands on long tables, chandeliers overhead, focal points on staircases. We’re also seeing a mixture of earthy elements paired with elegant modern touches. For example, a gold sequin table runner may be used on a rustic wooden farm table. Couples are choosing timeless and romantic color palettes such as ivory-blush-gold, green and white, burgundy-blush-green. And we’re seeing a fun mix of metallic accents such as gold paired with silver, copper with pewter, and gold with rose-gold.” “After having worked on the planning and design of a wedding with a couple for all of the months leading up to their big day, my favorite moment is experiencing their reaction when they see their completely transformed event space for the first

With a professional pedigree extending to glossy magazine shoots, music award shows and runways for some of the biggest brands in fashion, Jenna Marie Streitenfeld has been an international trendsetter in the world of hair and makeup. She brings the same reliability and artistry to weddings as she does the pages of Vogue Italia or the fashion shows of Bvlgari and Botegga Contessa. In fact, she’s styled more than 1,500 brides since 2009 for her business Kiss This Makeup, whose services extend to airbrushing, skin care, touchups, cut and color, tattoo cover-up and temporary lashes. Here’s what she’s learned about the styling needs of today’s wedding couples. “As opposed to everyday makeup, wedding makeup should really enhance someone’s features on their wedding day, and the bridal party should compliment one another for photos. It should also be cameraready along with long-lasting!” “For makeup, a glowing look is in, along with lots of highlight on the skin. As for trends with hair, either sleek or romantic never seems to go out of style. I find some
of our lovely brides wanting to just enhance their everyday look. Typically they wind up wearing it all down with perfected curls. The whole ‘I woke up like this’ appearance is really in as well.” “Styling for grooms is a service we offer, but most tend to prefer the typical barbershop visit a day before, along with personally shaving the day of. In one year, I think we maybe had 10 grooms enlist our services for hair styling and light makeup. I think they should do the light makeup! We don’t cake it on, we just make sure the skin looks great for photos. It makes a difference when standing next to the bride, who’s most likely airbrushed.” “I’m a sucker for romance. I initially started my career doing hair and makeup in the fashion and production field, stumbled into weddings during my downtime, and fell in love with the joy surrounding a wedding. I get to help women (and men!) feel beautiful on one of the most important days in their lives, and I also get to help other artists and stylists build their careers. Win win win!”
Catering
This Boca Raton-based catering company boasts serious culinary credentials. Its chef, Michael Saperstein, is a James Beard Award nominee, which is equivalent to the Oscars of food. Diners can discover his witty, innovative and flavor-forward dishes every day at Rebel House in Downtown Boca Raton. Better yet, enlist the tailor-made services of his E&M team to cater your dream wedding. E&M stands for “everything and more,” and as Managing Partner Andy Cohen explains, that’s what the company strives to offer its clients. “Creating big flavors and beautifully showcasing creativity is an advantage we have over many caterers. But the flair doesn’t matter quite as much when it comes to feeding 300 people at a wedding. A lot of brides and grooms want to make sure to give their guests something that’s familiar. So we use comfort foods and put modern spins on them to create the appeal and presentation, while providing those familiar tastes. A few examples are our Brie, Fig and Candied Bacon Grilled Cheese and our Butternut Squash and Crab Rangoons. Unlike traditional crab rangoons, with their overly sweet red sauce from your favorite Chinese takeout restaurant, we’ve added a
seasonal twist. The roasted butternut squash puree is mixed with crabmeat and cream cheese; once baked, we drizzle a chili honey and garnish with scallions.” “We’ve catered weddings for up to 350 guests. With larger-scale events, the chances are larger that you’ll drop a plate and lose a portion. So we always plan for that, and simply bring extra. When doing buffet-style weddings, caterers are notorious for running out of food, and you just can’t have that on your wedding day. We try and gather key information up front so we are fully prepared: Who are we feeding? Are they big eaters? Are there a lot of teenage kids, or older women with smaller appetites? We always pack an extra 5 to 10 percent on top of that to be extra cautious.” “On the wedding day, culinary artistry can make an impact as much as the entertainment and floral arrangements. The cuisine appeals to three or four of the five senses; therefore, it should be a focal point. Fabulous fare can be created for any taste and style, so tell your caterer whether you’re looking for a themed wedding that’s vintage, hippie chic, a beach getaway, Hollywood glam or a casual affair on a budget.”

Susan Damon, the owner of The Tux Shop, has been clothing the sharply dressed man for more than 30 years. Her store is said to be the only full-service tuxedo shop in Florida—meaning a man can walk in, try on a number of different looks, and leave with the tuxedo of his (or his fiancée’s) dreams. Recognized as “the bridal shop for grooms,” The Tux Shop features dozens of affordable tuxes for sale or rent in its deceptively compact Palm Beach Gardens store. “Wherever the wedding location is, that’s where the tuxedo should be serviced. Grooms need somebody locally to service that wedding there, because a button’s going to fall off, they’re going to put their foot through a hem, something’s going to need to be assisted. And recovery is key.” “Fit is important. You don’t have to wear a tux as it comes off the hanger anymore, even if it’s a designer label. Your physical shape is going to be different than the
designer who created that outfit. You need it to fit properly.” “Old school is trending. We even have a tuxedo that we named The Frank, after Ol’ Blue Eyes himself. We can all relate to the Rat Pack era, when the greats used to wear tuxedos. We now are going back to that look. Now that casual Friday has become casual all week, the importance of getting dressed up is even greater. James Bond is another character who helps the men’s clothing world. Because that character is popular and relevant, it follows suit—pardon the pun—with men’s clothing.” “Other than black, we are seeing navy blues, charcoal greys and fun dinner jackets as a second coat, for a groom to change into for a reception. Because when they are doing something a bit more formal, then that reception is more of a party aspect, and the bride is often changing into something else too.”

Lasting Memories
There are many reasons why my husband and I chose to host our wedding at The Addison, but the No. 1 reason was for the breathtaking ambience of the property. From the moment you pull up, you see the beautiful historic Spanish architecture, which continues throughout the entire property. After you enter the gates, the courtyard is canopied by beautiful and lush banyan trees. Once you think the fairytale cannot get any more magical, the sun sets and the courtyard illuminates, giving the entire property a perfect romantic setting. We loved everything at The Addison, but our favorite part was the delicious food! Having done many events at multiple hotels, resorts and venues, I have never had such amazing food that is completely made-to-order. My guests are still raving about being able to order tableside and having their ďŹ let mignons prepared to the temperature of their liking.

Lasting Memories We had a perfect wedding day! Jupiter Beach Resort was a breathtaking location. It is beachy but classy, so I wanted the decor to feel the same. We loved the setting and just felt totally inspired once we picked our location. The staff was so attentive and accommodating. They helped make everything run so smoothly and were great to work with throughout the entire planning process as well. All their vendor recommendations were spot-on! We have had several friends and family members contact us since the wedding to tell us that it was one of, if not the most, beautiful wedding they had ever attended. Everyone told us how beautiful the location was, the food was outstanding, and the service was exceptional!

What initially caught my attention about The Falls were the numerous photo opportunities throughout the property. Aside from the beautiful layout, another big deciding factor was the fact they do not book multiple parties for the same day. I knew once I booked the date that our wedding would be the only event taking place that day.

Lasting Memories
The grandeur of the grounds and the elegance of the architecture first drew us to Boca Raton Resort & Club for our daughter’s wedding. It owns the wow factor. Moreover, what occurred within the resort exceeded the exterior allure. Innovative in their approach, the wedding team gave new meaning to the words “white glove treatment.” They anticipated every detail from menu to service in order to give our daughter a treasured experience. From the cocktail reception to the after-party, our guests were presented with delectable delicacies and mouthwatering presentations. In addition to the opulence of the food, the service was unmatched. Large ice sculptures chilled freshly cracked Florida stone crabs while water and wine glasses were instantly filled if dipped below the half mark. The attentiveness and dedication of the staff was bar-none as they presented each course with flair and perfection. Our family and friends experienced a truly unparalleled affair, and undoubtedly a wedding never to be forgotten. Distinction is in the detail, and no detail went unnoticed or unappreciated. Boca Raton Resort & Club exceeded our admittedly high expectations, and we could not have selected a more exceptional venue for such a celebratory life event.

Lasting Memories The Hilton Singer Island was the ďŹ rst place Brandon and I ever stayed when I was visiting Florida for the ďŹ rst time. I had moved to Florida from Ohio shortly after, so when the time came for us to plan our wedding, we knew right away this was the perfect location for an intimate beach wedding with our closest family and friends. The venue allowed us to choose our vendors, which meant we were able to make our special day just as we envisioned. The location, right on the beach with the Oceanfront Pavilion, was the perfect spot for our ceremony/reception. We really could go on and on about how amazing our experience was with the Hilton; we wish we could relive the whole weekend over and over again.

Lasting Memories
Our wedding at the Seagate Beach Club was an absolute dream. The Seagate’s wedding coordinator made planning from Detroit a breeze. We were married on the sand, and the ocean was the most gorgeous backdrop we could have ever asked for. Being able to have three different locations within one venue was one of my favorite parts of getting married there. The ceremony was on the beach, the cocktail hour was around the pool, and the reception was an indoor-outdoor setting in the beach club. The ocean was never out of sight. The entire Seagate staff was incredible—I never worried that anything wouldn’t turn out exactly the way I wanted, and I did not have to lift a finger the day of the wedding. We had the most fun night of our lives thanks in huge part to this stunning venue that was the perfect intimate setting to celebrate with our closest family and friends.

Before the wedding of your dreams can take flight, here’s the fine print on everything you need to know to legally tie the knot. Marriage licenses can be obtained at any of five Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller locations (see listing below) for a fee of $86 plus sales tax. When applying for a license, both parties must provide one of three forms of identification: a U.S. driver’s license, a federal or state ID card or a passport listing name and date of birth. Both parties must read the Family Law Handbook, available as a PDF in English and Spanish on mypalmbeachclerk. com, before obtaining their license. Blood tests are not required. If either applicant was previously married, he or she must provide documentation of the manner in which the marriage ended and the exact date of its termination. Additional requirements pertain to marriage seekers ages 17 and younger. For information, call the county’s marriage licenses department at 561.355.2986. While there is a three-day waiting period for most Florida couples wishing to wed, no such wait exists for out-of-state couples. Uncertified copies of marriage licenses may be printed for free from the county’s Official Records website (mypalmbeachclerk.com/officialrecords). Certified copies must be obtained through the county clerk’s Records Service Center (palmbeachclerk. com/photocopy, 561.355.2976).

For the ALL-NATURAL couple
If farms conjure images of mud, livestock and tractors, then you haven’t visited Swank Farm. In its 17 years, the Loxahatchee destination has expanded to produce 350 varieties of organic and hydroponic produce on its 20-acre site, and it hosts up to 18 “Swank Table” events each season, where chefs dish up multicourse meals from the farm’s harvests. One day in 2015, a food blogger decided to host her wedding at Swank. The reception took place in the 300-person-capacity barn structure. “It was just gorgeous,” recalls co-owner Jodi Swank. “One of the perks about having a [wedding here] is we have a huge field where our organic produce is growing, and the bride and groom get married in that field, so guests can see tomatoes, eggplants, wildflowers and all kinds of things growing on vines during a wedding reception. It’s one-of-a-kind.”
For the HISTORY buffs
Weddings are historic occasions, so consider the most historic destination in The Palm Beaches: The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, whose storied existence dates to 1860. Couples wed on the deck at the base of the steps leading to the lighthouse, which serves as a towering backdrop for stunning photography. A dramatic ficus tree, circa 1938, provides shade for guests and covers the lighthouse’s deck. A museum, gazebo and lush vegetation complete the waterfront surroundings. “The intimate setting and closeness to the iconic lighthouse provides the bride and groom and their guests a spectacular view and a rare wedding experience,” says Kathleen Glover, marketing and public relations director at the Lighthouse.
For the ZEN seekers
The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is an oasis of Japanese culture and flora in a secluded setting in western Delray Beach. Romantic sites throughout the peaceful gardens are ideal for a small daytime ceremony of up to 35 guests. Ceremonies for up to 150 guests are held lakeside, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner on the terraces overlooking the Japanese bridges, lake, waterfall and gardens. “The fact that you can have the entire event outside, in such a serene setting, with beautifully pruned Japanese gardens, makes it unique,” says Alanna Keating, facility rental manager. Couples can even choose to stage a Japanese-style wedding, complete with taiko drummers, Japanese bridal wear and Asian cuisine. The latter can be provided by the Cornell Café, the Morikami’s on-site caterer, which can also prepare a customized menu. The Morikami Museum also offers space for an interior reception in its beautiful Japanese ash wood-lined foyer.
For the GARDEN partiers
Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach is a subtropical sanctuary of native flora and fauna, and its 20 interconnected gardens provide the ultimate green wedding. Kiss the bride under the shade of the Begonia Garden, tickle your senses in the Rose and Fragrance Garden, or cavort with friendly swallowtails in the Butterfly Garden. And for a canvas of color, there may be no better photo op than the appropriately named Rainbow Garden. “Mounts Botanical Garden is the ideal choice for an unforgettable outdoor wedding,” says Rochelle Wolberg, curator and director at Mounts. “Our lush tropical foliage and colorful flowering trees ensure a romantic, all-natural backdrop for both the ceremony and the post-wedding photographs. The period between November and April is particularly desirable for weddings in the Garden, because more of the flowering plants are in glorious bloom.”

BEYOND BALLROOM THE
For the LAWN gamers
Plenty of locations offer opportunities to play croquet, a lively ground-billiards game with roots in 17th century aristocracy. But only The Palm Beaches are home to the National Croquet Center, the world’s largest croquet destination—a four-acre sprawl with 19 full-sized lawns. “As you pass through the gates of the National Croquet Center, it brings you back to a time when pocket watches, walking sticks and martinis were a familiar sight on the Palm Beach croquet circuit,” says Scott Reiser, director of events at the center. “Our Florida Keys-style veranda is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful outdoor or indoor wedding and reception.” The center can easily accommodate up to 600 guests, who can pose with croquet mallets for unique photo ops. For a small fee, the NCC team can even organize croquet matches during cocktail hour.
For the GRAND slammers
Swing for the fences on your big day by scheduling your nuptials at the FITTEAM Ballpark of The Palm Beaches. This official Spring Training stadium boasts 6,500 seats—enough to accommodate the largest of guest lists—and permits full usage of the professional facilities. Couples can have special messages inscribed on the large video display, exchange their vows out in left field, or celebrate their union on home plate, where stars from the Houston Astros or Washington Nationals might have stood just weeks earlier. Plenty of indoor and outdoor areas—from the Suite Level Shade Decks to the Luxury Suites to the Covered Concourse—provide additional options for lively receptions. “The FITTEAM Ballpark of The Palm Beaches makes for a truly unique venue to accommodate and customize a wide variety of possibilities,” says Raul Rosario, account executive at the Ballpark. “Small indoor parties or larger open-air parties will find a first-class ballpark backdrop as well as many landscape areas for photos. Having your event ‘own’ the ballpark for a day can make for a memorable experience.”

For the couple ready to ROCK the boat
Peanut Island, a 79-acre expanse of sand and surf off the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lake Worth Lagoon, is a favorite daylong getaway for Palm Beachers and visitors alike—and it welcomes brides and grooms for stunning sunset weddings all year long. The organization that can get you there is Sailing Rendezvous. From its port at Riviera Beach Marina Village, genial captain Sergio Charon can transport parties 12 at a time to Peanut Island. Couples can also exchange their vows amid 360 degrees of water views on one of Charon’s boats, like the Sailing Vessel Serenity. It’s equipped with a retractable keel and rudder that allow the boat to float over a bit less than two feet of water. “Anywhere on the sand bar becomes your private party,” he says. “Enough pressure exists around traditional marriage ceremonies; why not do something different and start your life together in a beautiful and relaxing environment that sets the tone for the rest of your lives? The guests will also appreciate comfortable clothing and their feet in the sand while holding tropical drinks. The experience will last a lifetime for everyone.”
For the KNOWLEDGE seekers
Only one venue in The Palm Beaches can offer guests the (perfectly safe) experience of standing in the eye of a Category 1 hurricane, where 100-mph winds ruffle wedding dresses in dynamic photo ops. But if the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium’s Hurricane Simulator isn’t your speed, there’s also the mini golf center set within a giant butterfly garden and the recently renovated full-dome aquarium, where the center’s wedding coordinators can frame the ceremony against planets and stars of the couple’s choice. This personalized service extends to the playful activities guests can enjoy during the reception: “Our brides can choose from a list of interactive science demonstrations facilitated by our educators,” says Melinda Grenz, director of marketing. In the words of one satisfied bride, “Everything was amazing and went smoothly, and all of our guests had a great time. In particular, please pass along our thanks to your scientist that did the liquid nitrogen demo—it was a lot of fun!”

The historic Palm Beach Hibiscus House, in downtown West Palm Beach, channels the quaint, Old Florida-style charm of the country’s southernmost islands. The Hibiscus House’s two connected properties, dating to 1917 and 1918, feature a total of eight rooms, ensuring an intimate experience. A tiki bar and fire pit complement the relaxing atmosphere. “Some people like the antique-y, homey feeling that it brings,” says General Manager Melissa Landis. “For a sit-down meal, we can hold up to 80 people in the backyard. We have a little pergola in the courtyard, and people decorate it and get married under it, surrounded by greenery.” But as quiet as this venue is, it’s hardly isolated. As Landis says, “everything’s an easy walking distance, or a bike ride, from anything you’d want to do. We’re in the heart of it all, between CityPlace and Clematis Street.”

THE
Underwater Nuptials
Jack Bates Photography
For some adventurous couples, the term “taking the plunge” is more than just a phrase. For brides and grooms with diving certifications, sealing their union while surrounded by tropical fish is irresistible—and more accessible than ever. With more than 25 million certified divers worldwide, it’s no surprise that underwater weddings are trending. Jupiter Dive Center can help organize such occasions, on charter boats off Jupiter’s azure waters. We asked the center’s owner, Lisa Carroll, how it works.
What is the appeal of getting married underwater? Many couples either met through diving or scuba-dive together and continue to enjoy the sport as a way to connect. Part of the appeal of getting married underwater is being able to celebrate each other and their shared passion. And let’s face it—not everyone can get married underwater, which makes their ceremony even more special. But even more important, the ocean offers an incredibly beautiful backdrop for a couple’s special day. The waters off Jupiter offer a variety of sites from shipwrecks to reefs, and they draw both large marine animals and small colorful critters. What is the exact location you use for underwater ceremonies? The location and time of the ceremony would be determined by the couple. This is their special day, and we would do everything possible to accommodate their wishes. How does it work logistically? Where do the guests stand? Jupiter Dive Center has two charter boats. The best way to plan such a meaningful event is to have a consultation with the couple and
determine what they want. Are they wreck divers? There are several dive sites from which to choose. Water allows everyone to have a front row “seat,” so to speak, as divers can hover either next to or over other divers. Some couples choose to exchange their vows with just the officiant and then celebrate with their friends on the boat. That way, divers and nondivers alike can participate in the festivities. For couples interested in this option, why should they choose Jupiter as their location? Jupiter is home to some amazing marine events. In January and February, lemon sharks visit our waters. Beginning in March, sea turtles start to return to their nesting grounds. In August and September, goliath groupers aggregate. For adventurous couples, these are amazing wedding guests! One thing to consider: Any outside wedding venue is subject to the moods of Mother Nature. Jupiter Dive Center has its own dock. If the seas don’t cooperate, our dock still overlooks the water, and we can move the festivities topside. Jupiter Dive Center recognizes that this is a special day, and we will do everything we can to make it a dream dive come true.

The Sky Deck suite at the Boca Beach Club is a getaway within a getaway: The Beach Club is the sand-fronted sister property connected to the Boca Raton Resort & Club, Waldorf Astoria Collection (888.543.1277, bocaresort. com), and its Sky Deck exudes intimate luxury. Located on the Beach Club’s fifth floor, it offers panoramic ocean views and a 250-square-foot deck ideal for watching sunsets. The floor-to-ceiling windows and separate rainfall shower sweeten the ambience. “It’s one of the most romantic room categories we have,” says Michelle Dvortsin, director of leisure sales at the Boca Resort. “It creates that beautiful outdoor feel right outside their room.” Those celebrating their new marriage at the Boca Resort can also partake in the awardwinning Waldorf Astoria Spa, a 50,000-squarefoot oasis modeled after the Alhambra Palace in Spain. “There’s a couples treatment area, with lots of massages tailor-made for the couple,” Dvortsin says. “There’s a pool for spa guests only, and it’s for adults only, so it creates a haven for honeymooners. The environment is relaxing and tranquil.” With 13 dining options at the Resort, couples can stay a weekend without hitting all of them. But Dvortsin recommends a dream trifecta: Apps and drinks at the Blue, the sky-high restaurant atop the Resort’s tallest building, which overlooks two counties; dinner at Lucca, its stylish Tuscan eatery; and a to-go frozen hot chocolate from dessert specialists Serendipity.
PGA National Resort and Spa
At PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens (800.863.2819, pgaresort.com), the sprawling property’s recently renovated Spa is known for its Waters of the World series of five distinct pools. One features salt and minerals from the Dead Sea; another features ingredients imported from the salt mines of France. There’s also a full-size swimming pool, a lounge pool and a hot tub. “Our spa is known as one of the best in the area,” says Michele Palischak, director of catering and conference services. “With 32 treatment rooms and a full-service hair and nail salon, it’s the perfect place to rejuvenate after the wedding experience.” Meanwhile the groom can dust off his clubs at any of the five master-designed golf courses that give the resort its name. “And if the newlyweds book one of the resort’s spa suites, they can unwind on the in-room massage table,” Palischak says. Later, they can snuggle up at the iBar, a cozy cocktail spot anchoring the lobby, which features live music Thursdays to Saturdays. PGA National Resort and Spa

If you want to experience the paradise of Singer Island for your honeymoon, consider escaping to the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa (561.340.1700, palmbeachmarriottresort.com), the only all-suite hotel on this oceanfront enclave. Each of these suites has a private balcony with a view to die for. “Our luxury resort with spacious, fully equipped suites offers newlyweds the perfect backdrop to celebrate their new life together,” says Diane D’Amico, director of sales and marketing. “They can relax on the largest stretch of secluded beachfront in the area and even explore a natural reef right off of our coastline. Pamper each other in our award-winning SiSpa with a couple’s massage, or have our innovative culinary team indulge them in 3800 Ocean, offering guests a dining experience with breathtaking views of the ocean and an extensive wine collection.” Singer Island is one of the top scuba and snorkeling spots in the world. Sporty couples can enroll in the Marriott’s Discover Scuba class or enjoy boating, Jet Skiing and other water activities. If it’s turtle nesting season (March to October), they might even see one of these glorious reptiles lay her eggs on the private beach. Honeymooners looking for a more culinary kind of adventure can expand their palates at the Kitchen Table experience at the resort’s 3800 Ocean restaurant. It seats up to five guests, there’s no menu, and you watch as the chef prepares your meal and discusses the ingredients. At the newly renovated Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, embracing the coastal lifestyle also takes center stage. You’ll find relaxed beach elegance inspired by the heritage of the island, enriched by an extraordinary staff bringing you genuinely warm, gracious and attentive service. The resort is perfectly suited for island adventures, and couples can enjoy areas
reserved exclusively for serenity, explore the warm Atlantic water at the Water Sports Center, or enjoy a scenic island trail on a complimentary bicycle. But what makes the Four Seasons most stand out, according to Catering Director Ashley Lanier, is its ability to personally curate your celebration. “It’s a very intimate resort, so while we do have an extensive list of amenities, it’s not an overwhelming resort,” she says. “At the root of it is that our hotel specializes in service and customization. [The couple] will feel special touches throughout the resort.” This can mean everything from monogrammed bathrobes in the oceanfront suites, champagne and local tropical fruit upon arrival, and the ability to request an acoustic guitarist or photographer to enhance a romantic oceanfront cabana dinner. Guests can also retreat to the Five Star Spa by day and by night, or dine in the new signature restaurant in collaboration with a two-star Michelin chef. Couples can also cavort on The Palm Beaches’ sandy assets by booking a suite at the Tideline Ocean Resort and Spa (561.540.6440, tidelineresort.com). The Tideline prizes serenity and wellness, offering group and private yoga classes and rejuvenating treatments in any of the seven rooms in its 6,000-square-foot spa. A Tideline vacation wouldn’t be complete without refreshing dips in the outdoor heated pool and whirlpool, accompanied by a libation from the poolside bar. Speaking of cocktail concoctions, the resort’s on-site restaurant, Brandon’s on the Beach, is celebrated for its inventive beverages, from its frozen Coffee Colada to artisan cocktails such as Kentucky Hustler and Blood & Sandals. They go down swimmingly with Brandon’s New American cuisine, with its fresh seafood emphasis, extensive brunch selections and imaginative desserts.

The property is also a half-mile from pristine Jupiter Beach. “We’re at the center of it all,” says Jennifer Timpano, associate director of catering. “A couple can stay a long weekend and not have to leave in their vehicle. They can walk or jog to the beach, and shop and play in Harbourside.” And, given that Harbourside Place includes its own marina, honeymooners can hop aboard a Jupiter Water Taxi for even faster access to the town’s attractions. FOR BACHELOR PARTIES
Since women are smarter than men in most matters of logic and problem solving, guys could use a leg up. Grab your fellow groomsmen and impress your significant others by breaking free of one of The Palm Beaches’ many escape rooms without any help from the fairer sex. Requiring teamwork and outside-the-box thinking, escape rooms are a fun, safe way to bond while flexing all sorts of brain muscles. If an idea of the perfect bachelor party involves hops ‘n’ suds, tour The Palm Beaches’ thriving craft-beer scene on a bus that stops at our many breweries.
FOR FAMILIES
The copious sightseeing tours of The Palm Beaches are ideal for large parties to explore its myriad assets in a short window of time. You can cruise the pavement on a Segway, pedal through town on an electric bike, or enjoy the serene waters of the Intracoastal Waterway on a boutique yacht.
